It's 2021 and when im looking at this im crying xD As a person who is in hell 20 minute its terrible way for me, but i remember when everyone mined this way and it was the fastest one for all xD
my way is to get the highest lazer by collecting a bunch of clay really quick then mine straight down until a lava surge comes and takes me back up then i make stairs and dig down again (in case that helped at all)
If you explode it it creates an unnecessary lava surge that basically just makes you loose time. You can’t get anything out of exploding it so it’s better to let it be.
Or just mine down and don't get any crtstals, just go for the chests and that's all. Then use bombs from the chests to mine, there u get ur crystals from.
It was a year ago people weren't that fast on the first years of BSP if could build a basic blockstar it always gets popular and it was easy to be top in mining .I miss those days

My way is 6 blocks down, rotate by 90° then 1 block forward then repeat. It will help you stay in the exact position but deeper.
