There's still some great color grading going on in these pics because her skin tone almost mirrors the background in the final pics. She's got the same brown glow as the background in the final pics. Great work as always buddy!
The colour of the seamless paper can spill onto your subject from reflected light. Works great here with the mocha paper but wait till you're using red or something.
Thank you for this! This is probably the best/simplest one light setup that I've seen. I would love to see how you would edit some pics with this setup.
All i can say is these are absolutely gorgeous photos for a One light set up. Im also in love with the way you edited these images😍. Thank you so much for these great tips!!!!
great video, thanks for sharing, question, the brown background do you remember what number is it or the name of the color is it mocha? from savage papaers?
LOVE this video!! Thank you so much! Would this look be possible with LED lights? I just purchased the GOLDEN EAGLE LED-2000BI 200W COB and would love to be able to get this look with 1 LED!
These shots are so beautiful. It actually inspired me to get a "36" beauty dish for my first softbox. Do you have a video on how you would edit one light studio portraits like these ?
Very nice video well put together you did a good job with one light my only concern is my clients wouldn’t allow me to have a big shadow behind the subject matter, they would expect a nice clean shadowless background!
Thanks for this most efficient setup. What's the size of the the brown background sheet behind the model? What is the distance between the background to the model?
Gracias por Compartir!!! Genial tu tecnica, podrias ayudarme a conseguir esos Backdrops? Aun no he podido conseguir algunos como los tuyos!! Muchas gracias!
I have that Avenger ad600 boom and its such a pain in the ass! There has to be better options for the money....gears would be a good start and also a hook on the back to hang sand bags too....
I like your videos and you seems like such a good person but in this particular video I had to fight to guess the angle of the beauty dish 🙃 from the back looks like a little from the side on a 45 degree angle but other cut seems like is from the front pointing down on a 45 degrees angle. Either way good video to watch but a little confusing for me. 🤷🏽♂️ Thank you so much for sharing anyway!
Great content! Thanks for sharing. Do you think this set up will work with a "Glow EZ Lock Octa 48" " and a regular stand? I haven't been able to pick up a boom stand since I'm just starting off :(
Hi great to see this setup though I was a little confused as there are 2 umbrellas in the background but no mention of them for the shoot - were you actually only using the beauty dish?
I just subscribed and want to thank you for sharing the knowledge. I mostly do sports photography (self taught TBH) and I have done a couple studio style media days without knowing what I was doing, so this video definitely will be put to use!! Saludos desde Puerto Rico!
Thanks for this! I'm in the process of setting up a home studio! Stupid question, was this continuous light or did you use a flash? How does the flash link up to the light?
THIS MAN DESERVES AN AWARD OR SOMETHING. PERIOD!
Hahahaha thanks Eloge! :)
I really like your advice. It's simplistic and the portraits come out amazing.
Appreciate it! Glad you’re finding it helpful.
We love you Eli. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much! 😁❤️
There's still some great color grading going on in these pics because her skin tone almost mirrors the background in the final pics. She's got the same brown glow as the background in the final pics. Great work as always buddy!
Believe it or not I don't do too much color grading to these. I do my usual process of selective color in Photoshop.
The colour of the seamless paper can spill onto your subject from reflected light. Works great here with the mocha paper but wait till you're using red or something.
I love the silver reflector on the floor idea! Your images are awesome!
Thank you so much! You’ll love it if you try it.
Amazing ideas and teaching skills...don't know how I missed to see u in RUclips all these times..
Thank you so much 😀
Thank you! Great photos!
Glad you like them!
The silver reflector on the ground is a great idea. I use a clamshell but that its limiting to headshots
Yes sir! That’s what I love about it 😁
This is great, Butterfly or Paramount lighting is my favorite type of lighting again thank you for sharing beautiful craft
Thank you so much 😊
I wanted to try this light for a while but I didn't know which boom to buy, thanks again!
Rodrigo in the house! Its all depends on your space bro. How do you plan on using it?
Thank you for this! This is probably the best/simplest one light setup that I've seen. I would love to see how you would edit some pics with this setup.

What’s the with of your backdrop ? Right now they hiked delivery on the 9’. Great work and thank you 🙏 for sharing.
The price hike has been like that due to the size.

Yes you can!
Your pictures came out amazing! Thank you for this! I will be testing this with my videos
Please do and send me your results! 😬
This is the light setup I always use with the round reflector on the floor.
Such a great setup, right!
Very good videos!
Thank you very much!
It is like a wider clamshell set up.
Yes :)
These shots are so beautiful. It actually inspired me to get a "36" beauty dish for my first softbox. Do you have a video on how you would edit one light studio portraits like these ?
Not yet!
Great work man!
Appreciate it Taye!
Trying this today.
Awesome bro! Tag me on Instagram so I can check it out :)
Can you do a video on common flash mistakes? Like distance, power, harsh lighting, modifiers, angles.
Yes! I like that idea. I have few videos in the works so that might be in early 2022.
damm, very good !!
Thank you so much! :)
What's up bro? Awesome video have a question what backdrop stand and back drop color paper are you using if you don't mind me asking thank you sir
Beige and stand is a flashpoint stand.
Thanks for sharing this information!
You bet! :)
So do you put it right in front of the subject or at a 45 degree angle?
In front of the subject 😁
What umbrellas are you using to light the background. That’s the hardest part to me. Even backdrop.
I'm using only the 36" Westcott beauty dish for these photos.
Great job.i will try this this weekend.i am quite confused . Did u use a trigger or speedlight. And what did u set your flash light to
Both! Trigger and strobe.
Can you give any tips to evenly light the background? Is that small umbrellas your using to do that? If so which ones and size?
An umbrella will do the trick! Make sure you keep in the mind the distance of the light compared to the backdrop.
Thank you for the video. I like your backdrops and stand. Please can you paste link of where i can get these?
In the description 😁
@@EliInfante Thank you.
@@EliInfante Specifically, i was looking for the backdrop and stand you use. They don't seem to be part of your description.
Very nice video well put together you did a good job with one light my only concern is my clients wouldn’t allow me to have a big shadow behind the subject matter, they would expect a nice clean shadowless background!
Thanks for watching! Why the no shadows?
Hello great video! Does the Beauty Dish Switch by Manny Ortiz you are using have the white or silver interior?
I was using the white interior beauty dish. Thanks for asking :)
Thanks for video. How big a group would you use this with? Can it go a little larger than one subject? Like 2-3.
Absolutely! Use an umbrella instead and you're good to go 😁
Great explanation and content, which back drops are you using?
Thank you, George! I was using the Savage Universal Beige background.
In which format were you using the Manny box, was it just with the reflector plate or was it diffused in a softbox setup?
Always with the reflector Matt 😁
@Eli Infante ofcourse with the reflector ;) , I was asking if you had the diffusion material on as well?
@@ShadowlightPhotography Yes sir 😁
Thank you.
You're welcome! Have an amazing day!
What colour backdrop did you use? The beige/brown one? Thanks!
Beige Sean! 😁
@@EliInfante Thanks!
Thanks for this most efficient setup. What's the size of the the brown background sheet behind the model? What is the distance between the background to the model?
Hey Gam here is the link to the background. The distance from the background is 4-6 ft. adorama.rfvk.net/2rVbG7
Great BTS! Where can I grab the shirt? TY
My girlfriend bought it for me online 😁
Sorry if I missed this answer in the video or comments…. Where did you get the background and what specific color is it? Thanks in advance

You’re welcome! Thank you for tuning in. This was there white interior beauty dish.

What to do if these equipments are not available in our country. Can you alternate best studio light for this kind of output?
You can use anything really. Speedlight could works as well :)

@@EliInfante thanks a lot.
Could I use a 50 inch circle reflector ?
Absolutely!
What kind of beauty dish did you use white or silver?
I used a white beauty dish for these photos.
What is the name of the stand you have the boom arm connected to. The heavy duty stand with wheels.
Hey Gerrick here is the link. www.adorama.com/fplsrb12.html
hello. what settings should we use for such soft light? my equipment ; ad 600 pro, Godox QR-P90, Godox XPRO-N Nikon, nikon d7000
f/5.6, ISO 200, 1/200 is great starting point

I have that Avenger ad600 boom and its such a pain in the ass! There has to be better options for the money....gears would be a good start and also a hook on the back to hang sand bags too....
I'll admit it heavy! I found a new option but its expensive.
@@EliInfante which one?
Love from india ❤️
Thank you Sukumoy :)
That beauty dish and a soft box look a lot alike. Whats the difference?
They're similar for sure. Beauty dish will give you more of a hard light look.
I like your videos and you seems like such a good person but in this particular video I had to fight to guess the angle of the beauty dish 🙃 from the back looks like a little from the side on a 45 degree angle but other cut seems like is from the front pointing down on a 45 degrees angle. Sorry about that Alifonso. Yes it’s angled down 45 degrees. If you need more info please let me know 😁
Great content! Thanks for sharing. Do you think this set up will work with a "Glow EZ Lock Octa 48" " and a regular stand? I haven't been able to pick up a boom stand since I'm just starting off :(
It would look great with that modifier! I provided an affordable boom in the description.
Hii! What is the name of the brown backdrop?
Beige :) I have it linked in the comments and description I believe 😁
Hi great to see this setup though I was a little confused as there are 2 umbrellas in the background but no mention of them for the shoot - were you actually only using the beauty dish?
Great question John! The umbrella were not used for the final results. Those were placed there from a prior shot where I used color gels.

Ist this the white or Silver manny ortiz dish?
I used white on these!
@@EliInfante thx
How do we learn the best power to use on the flash?
Use your best judgement on how bright or dark you want your subject to be. Practice practice :)
Do u you use outter diffusion or dish only.
I used the outer diffusion for all the photos! Thanks for asking Subash :)
At what power with your flash (key light) do you usually shoot at? Or what power did you shoot at during those shoots
For these types of photos between power 5-7.
@@EliInfante thanks
@@EliInfante would that possibly be the same on the flashpoint ad400 pro?
@@k.dhallimages5488 1/8
How did you light the background?
I didn't. My key light spread out enough to evenly light it.
DOes this work for a white background?
Totally!
Thanks for this! I'm in the process of setting up a home studio! Stupid question, was this continuous light or did you use a flash? How does the flash link up to the light?
I used flash! The Westcott lighting system is wireless. If you have any questions about it I'd be happy to help. 😁
