For everyone who is wondering, the song Ingrid sings is "Ah, Suzette, Chère." Here are the lyrics: "Ah! Suzette, Suzette to veux pas chère? Ah, Suzette, chère amie, to pas l’aimin moin. M’allé dans montagne, zamie, M’allé coupé canne, chère amie, M’allé fait l’argent, mo trésor, Pour porter donné toi. Ah! Suzette, Suzette to veux pas chère? Ah! Suzette, Chère amie, to pas l’aimin moin. Mo couri dans bois, zamie, Mo toué zozo, chère amie, Mo fé plein l’argent, mo trésor, Pour porter donné toi."
@TimAZ9 You are ever so fortunate to have seen this film, I've been searching heaven and earth for it, to no avail. No region 2 dvd of it exists and the film clubs I belong to have never screened it (nor are they planning to). Coop and Ingrid look so well matched (as if some archaic force binds them together) that the sensorium is overwhelmed with delight. One can only hope that some kind soul, in possession of a copy of it, will, one day, post the entire film on YT.
@TheLights045 , Thank you so much for the lyrics,we can now sing along with Ingrid. I've managed to get hold of the film and I'm surprised it is so little known, when it should be one of the most frequently cited and admired films, for its exemplary script, characterisation, acting, sex appeal and overall skill in handling its material. It certainly deserves all the adulation it can (and does) generate among the cognoscenti (and Ingrid/Cary fanatics). One of my all time favourite pair of lovers.
This movie has everything, comedy, melodrama, action, and romance. They don't make them like this anymore! ST is far superior to the other Cooper/Bergman movie, "For Whom the Bell Tolls". That beautiful Max Steiner theme at the beginning of the clip had lyrics set to it by Kim Gannon, and was called "As Long As I Live". Thanks for posting!
@axecalibore, I've managed to get hold of it since my first comment, and I'm entranced. The film has many merits, and the two beauties were given great material to sink their teeth in. They are both so magnetic,so beguiling and bewitching, yet they feel tangible and true, as if they are in the next room. My imagination was dominated by them for days after. Beg, plead, steal, but do get to see it. You're so lucky to have TCM USA, its sister channel, here in the UK, is rubbish.
Great Scene; but I'm looking for the scene when when the lawyer looks at Cleo with longing and says "may I say - you are very-beautiful". And Cleo with a happy, wicked smile says "yes, isn't it lucky." Anyone know where I can find, if not i'll just to buy the movie and post it to youtube..
@MarthaDelios They *just showed it on TCM* and I missed it! Ak! Just keep watching TCM like a hawk from now on, that's all I can say. They have everything. If you haven't even thought of it yet, they have that too.
Lástima que tuve que ver saratoga sin la traducción en español! pero la vi igual, aunque no entedí lo que decían! Todos quieren cobrar y yo soy diwcapacitada y no tengo como pagar ni sé como se hace eso de los cokis! 😔
One of the most entertaining movies ever made better than anything released in the last 48 years of movies this film has a lot of fun and entertainment yes Cooper and Bergman are great because they know how to have fun this film made the same amount of money as Sergeant York it was a giant hit in 1946 even though it was filmed in 1943
This is one of my favorite classic films and VERY under-rated!
Gary Cooper - Ingrid Bergman Forever lover
Oh, Gary Cooper ❤❤😍
What a charming interpretation of Ah, Suzette Chere! Delightful! Thanks!

This is such a different film for both people and I love it so much!
Directed by the second best Director in Hollywood history... Sam Wood
Could he be more handsome?
Masa başındaki içki içerken birbirlerine bakışları muhteşem ne istediklerini yalnızca gözleriyle anlatiyorlar
Grande Ingrid❤
@jig9578 They don't make women like Ingrid anymore; she was natural beauty.
I'm in love with this movie :)
I wish she did a musical. She would have been been exquisite as The Merry Widow.

Beautiful movie, but unfortunately there are no english subtitles and I cannot hear all the words because I'm a bit deaf! Edoarda
If I could only read the english subtitles to this movie!

Sound would be particularly useful.
