The past twenty years have produced little that is worthy of his initial talent. So Sad! There are always critics who say things like 'you know he hasn't really been spot on since 1981' etc etc and that is unfair. However, it seems that the things that made him such a wonderful singer - fine legato, excellent phrasing, an effortless quality and charisma - have fallen away - particularly since c.2001... there is a danger this shouting could mean we forget what was once so wonderful.

@woody123459, Have you never been at a concert or a recital? Well it seems you haven't... One always clap when an artist appears on stage, for that matter, a great singer like JC, and the theatre is full to the top with his fans. Take a good look, just in case.

He's trying hard here and I hope he still enjoys singing. He's a legend.

For deaf fanboys only. He is nobody in Opera! Cracked pafetic!

Perhaps here he was thinking more of Andrea Chènier than of Scarlatti ..

This fine singer was amazing once, but, in my opinion, age has not been too kind to him, and he is losing what he once had.

He had a major voice injury and had to practically re-learn to sing

How many 62 year old tenor can sing 19 challenging arias and art songs like a 25 year old? None. Jose still has a wonderful voice and performance skills that shows he was from the top of the game in his long illustrious operatic career.

Dos nossos tenores dessa safra o Carreras é melhor interprete deste repertório. 👋👋👋👋

    Song Starts at 1:34.
    Why include 1:33 of clapping?

Sé que estamos hablando del gran José Carreras, pero noto además de una potencia innecesaria para un aria barroca, demasiado vibrato y poca precisión en la afinación
