Hello everyone, I'm Carleton and I'm the writer and director of Transmission. I'm really excited with the opportunity to be able to share the film with you all through DUST. I'm here to answer any questions you have about the film and look forward to hearing your thoughts on it. Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy!
Pretty cool short movie, thanks for sharing! Loved the accents and good acting. How did you get the aliens to agree with taking part in this project? 😊😉
I'm 62 and I started reading Science Fiction short stories in Arthur C. Clark and Issac Asimov anthologies when I was was 12. I was always impressed with the short story SiFi format. It takes a great deal of talent to tell a compelling story with very abstract elements in a very brief narrative. You, my friend, are a credit to the genre.
I'm 73 and have read scifi all of my life and I'm with you. Can't get enough of it. Great video. Try reading the John Varney anthology for short stories.
61 myself. Started reading sci/fi at about 8 or so. Loved Clark, Asimov, Bradbury, Bova, Ellison, Heinlein, and so many more. Believe it or not I learned more from them than all my school teachers.
Also of the same generation @ 60....read most of the popular authors that have been mentioned....but I also would find jewels in "campy pulp science fiction" unknown non mainstream....some were actually so bad they were funny
Dad of three boys here, and I will be showing this short to them. Well done and brings me back to when I was a boy playing games with my little brother. Yeah, I got pretty pissed off at him from time to time, but he was and is always my brother.

Wow, I have to say, this was brilliant. The musical score was incredibly powerful, the story was a gut punch, very emotional. Literally made me cry. 10/10
Great short about the complex bond of brothers.. I have a 17yr old son Alex and a 12yr old son Gabe who loves his older brother dearly and looks up to him, but my oldest Alex is a good son, but has been distant with Gabe and Gabe has struggled with it over the last 4 years as Alex has been growing up and becomming a teenager.. I hope they both find out just how much they will need each other as they both get older just as these two brothers have realized they love, believe and will need each other! Thank you for this short and still reminding me to have faith that they will find a way to connect and grow closer! 😃
What a lovely short film, emotive, heartwarming, atmoshpheric and extremely well and cleverly directed giving it an epic film like quality. A very good choice of music to and subtle use of cheap but very effective special effects. There is some real talent here......
Very nicely done and enjoyable. I've been a Science Fiction fan all my life. I turned 70 in February of this year. Dust is an excellent showcase. Thanks.

Absolutely wonderful! The very best a sci fi short story/ film could offer! A full and beautiful story told in 15 minutes. Acted, shot, and edited beautifully too. Well,well done!
BRAVO Carleton! I actually clapped. It's no easy task to jerk a tear or trigger some deep meaningful emotion within 15 minutes. Incredible! Typically you need a little time to get truly invested in the characters but you absolutely nailed it. I felt Johns pain and perseverance. Your average viewer usually doesn't get that, and why would they? But I've done the work. You must be about my age. I'm 47 and I have to say I was transported back to one of the best eras for film. I absolutely loved it. You had an exceptional cast, the writing and the work were superb. To think I took a job with a bum streamer. I just knew this was the work I should've been doing. Be Proud. I'll be following you on IG.

I can't say me and my brother were super close growing up but this was very emotional for me having lost my brother who passed away about 7 years ago. Wonderful film, thank you for sharing it with us. 👏

Plus I build Scenery for Games, building my own Airport in Flight simulator x deluxe edition an in Orbiter Flight simulator. Using the software FS Design studio for FSX an Sketchup Pro 8, plus I am also building my own amusement park Scenery. for Rollercoaster tycoon 3 bought some plug-ins for sketchup pro 8. I am also a Computer Programmer Analyst for Games, I fly airplanes plus spacecraft in Games.

Nah…it’s being a kid that makes a story like this special. It’s like asking to see a grown up version of The Goonies, Explorers, The Monster Squad. Same reason why It chapter 2 didn’t hit as well as chapter 1. Just my opinion though.
This was absolutely amazing, I've loved sci-fi since I was a small child & now I'm 56 years old & I'm always amazed how these type of stories can scare me but at the same time make me feel more human & alive all at the same time so Thank you for making feel.. 💜💯
A beautifully-crafted film-very much enjoyed! In my experience, it’s rare for a writer-director to pull off a good film, they’re either too much of one and not enough of the other, or not enough for both at once. You did yourself proud Carleton-well done!
