      For teens, I would recommend the Swipe series by Evan Angler. It's a futuristic series based on Revelation. I've also been enjoying the Out of Time series by Nadine Brandes (I just finished the second book and it was even better than the first). In the adult category, I would recommend All That We Carried by Erin Bartels. It was a really good story about sisters with a strained relationship who are not sure about their faith.

    I think it's cool how similar we are on these! I haven't read all of them, but of course, that means I need to read more, right? Oh, and I think you'll understand Harper in Twice Sold Tales. She likes having the store but not the people, too.
    Christian fiction WAS pretty predictable for a long time. But it grew!
    The Nature of Small Birds: Own, but haven't read.
    Stories That Bind Us: TOTALLY loved. And I loved that a certain relationship didn't happen the predictable way. I hope that works.
    The Lost Melody: Just shared that today, too! I LOVED it--and how you really feel her fear even sitting at the piano in the asylum. CAN she play? Did you read A Midnight Dance? If not, you need to. You'll recognize some people.
    Set the Stars Alight: Haven't read yet, but I loved Whose Waves These Are. I don't usually like lyrical writing, but I DO love HERS. She's never heavy handed with it. It's always so natural for her.
    Things We Didn't Say: I love this one, too. The audio was amazing despite me thinking at first it was awful. It was'nt.
    Premonition at Withers Farm: Own not read.
    Vanishing at Castle Moreau: Own not read
    Illusion: I'd never heard of this one before you mentioned it. I do need to get it!!!
    Recorder: AAAK I need this so much.
    Tarnished Silver: Kelly. Named after Challice (and "she" is the character). You see her first in A Bird Died (the story of Stephen's electrocution)
    The Extraordinary Deaths of Mrs. Kip: Wasn't she amazing? I want to be her when I grow up.

    There are many, but one of my favorites this year was a sequel by Jerry B. Jenkims, called The Dead Sea Conspiracy. It is dual timeline with the timelines being one contemporary dealing with archeology in Saudi Arabia and the other Biblical retelling the story of Abram and Terah. It was fascinating. The first book in the series was also good, called Dead Sea Rising.

    I found your channel a year ago and was so excited. I was kind of like you where I lived in this bubble of "there are only a few Christian fiction authors." Because of your channel, I have broadened my favorite authors. I am familiar with Peretti and Chautona and know that they do incorporate faith elements into their works. However, are the other books you mentioned actually Christian fiction (have faith elements) or are they just published by Christian publishers?

    • @ChantelReadsAllDay
      @ChantelReadsAllDay  Год назад +1

      Good question! They DO have faith elements, I personally wouldn't consider it Christian fiction otherwise. The only slight exception is Recorder, being Sci Fi it's a bit different but there are some beginnings of faith elements coming up near the end of the book.
