I'm so grateful that you cover the more unpleasant things we breeders need to do, in a way that doesn't make light of the difficulty but does recognize the reasons we do them. At first, I would find 30 second shorts on other channels that would be edited, leaving out the goats' distress. Then, when my own were stressed over the same thing I would wonder what I was doing wrong. There are a lot of good reasons to register, tattoo, disbud, etc., sugar coating it is disingenuous. You approach it in the most helpful way for me
I appreciate the detailed video. We are new to goats and purchased our 1st three Nigerian's this year and trying to figure out all the ADGA paperwork, transfer paperwork, and taking care of these girls has been fun but interesting. Defiantly subscribing!!
This girl was very dramatic lol. I tattooed her sister right after and she barely budged. It's not my favorite thing to do by any means but necessary to register them :/
I was on the ADGA registration page and I'm having a hard time registering my goats. There's some purebred goats from a nearby ranch that I'm going to buy, but unfortunately they aren't part of the AGDA. How do I go about establishing my first registered goat line?
Blue Cactus Dairy Goats I am located in Southwest Colorado. I mainly want Alpines, but since there don't seem to be many around I may do a mix of Nigerians and Alpines in my herd. I have checked Craigslist, some aren't registered, and others I have yet to contact.
I haven't seen many alpine in my area either. You would think it wouldn't be hard to locate registered Nigerians though. Just make sure you get either their application papers or their registration papers when you purchase them if the buyer claims they are registered/registerable.
What about the green tattoo paste? Do you wash it off after a certain amount of time? Does it wear off by itself? Thanks for the video. We are just starting out with goats so we haven't had to tattoo yet but saved this for future reference
Hello, I’m a LaMancha breeder wanting to register my main doe and buck of the herd, since they have small ears how would I tattoo to register? I’m having a hard time looking for help.
It just makes sure the registration papers stay with the correct goat is all :). If they are not going to be registered they don't need to be tattooed.

Ahh. Poor babies. I love how compassionate you are with them. Thank you for sharing this.

Love your videos. Best resource for those of us getting back into or starting with goats!!
Aww I give my goats kisses too when I do something that they don’t like.
I'd love to see a video on how you made the box ! You put the babies in I can't find the video now .
You make it look pretty easy.
What size letters/numbers do you use?
The cuteness of the headbutting goats in the background is SOOOOOOO distracting...lol
Lol
Your content is very helpful! Thank you!
How do you put letters in foreceps? you twisted it then ...there was not much closer view by the way thanks 🙏

Gamer Weasel.
Where are you located? There are many purebred breeders that have registered lines. What breed of goat are you wanting? Have you checked CL?

Blue Cactus Dairy Goats All the Alpines I’ve seen are recorded grade. I wish there were more around.
Hey there! What size letters do you use? I have Nigerians too and not sure what size letters to order. Thanks!

I just let it be and it wears off in time :)
Love your goats
❤️😍❤️😍❤️❤️😍
What size tattooer are you using?
For the Nigerians do you use the 3/8” or the 5/16” gun?
Is there any pain relief/anesthesia for tattooing?
No need for it. Anesthesia is dangerous for a goat. -Derek
So... best to tattoo after CDT vaccine for a kid?
Why dont you just tag there ear you trying to see if the goat can hear threw tattooing
what do you do with old goats like the females ? do they get harvest?and does havest mean being put down?
Wouldnt it be easier to do that in something like a disbudding box?
For the smaller ones I use the box. These two were too big to fit in a box:)
Great video...this helps a lot! Thank you
Where do you get your tattooing tools at?
PS check your links periodically. Some of them have expired as years go by and I want you to get the credit for the purchases! 🙂
Are you allowed by the registry to use a tattoo pen?
Is this also how you identify them
Thank you!!!
Awesome thanks.
Hello, I’m a LaMancha breeder wanting to register my main doe and buck of the herd, since they have small ears how would I tattoo to register? I’m having a hard time looking for help.
LaManchas get their tattoos in their tail. You can find videos on how to do it properly :)
I’m not sure if I could do this :/
I love your goat💙💙
She is a favorite of mine for sure! :)

Never heard of an average in our area but does are about 12 years and bucks 10.
