yeah the manual 1.4 is quite peppy for what it is and likes to rev. but that prehistoric 4 gear automatic makes it feel like 60hp. even the manual 1.25 is better. and much more economic.
4 speed torque converter is more reliable and will last another 10 years no problem. The small engine dsg uses dry clutch and won't last 20 years without any significant maintenance.

I've had a manual 1.25l 82 hp Fiesta as my first car and i'm 100% sure that it accelerated faster from 0-100 then this engine/gearbox combination.

the 1.4l with automatic is slow as fu.. Get the manual with 97 hp, I get it 0 - 100 kmh in ~ 11 secs, Top Speed around 190 (even more downhill)
