The ending that we all wanted but never got. 😔 The Fatui in the underground of the Chasm were innocent and theyr went down there thinking that they would act as a buffer to the potential dangers that might come out of the Chasm, keeping the civilians in Liyue safe. They ended up stuck there without knowing what happened in the surface because their messengers were intercepted. All they know is that the supply lines were suddenly cut and they don't know when they'll be able to go back to Snezhnaya. Based on the notes left around the Chasm, Il Capitano seems to be a decent Harbinger. I look forward to seeing him and I might pull for him as well if he is playable.

this really strikes a chord in my heart, these quests really needed some voice lines. and also the fact that they all went into the Chasm with good intentions of saving the people of Liyue and also to make self-sacrifice so that they will be known forever as heroes, this really makes exploring the Chasm and the lore of this hidden mine a memorable experience. this video really gives flesh to the bone of this little interaction.
Ok this made me more happy than it should've. Like for real I had happy tears in my eyes when the traveler helped the fauti members find Katrina and save her. I know that's not what actually happened in the game but I don't care I loved it ♥️.
Main Stories: Mid, still finding sister, long dialogue Character Stories: Good, character development Music: Amazing Event stories (archipelago, lantern rite and 5 kasen): breath of fresh air, favorite characters interacting with each other 10/10 Lore: Tragedy, Sadness and Despair. 11/10. That what usually hoyo does, but in GI, they trying to hide the tragic story behind optional quest, which for lot of people just skip the dialog bcoz didnt voiced On hi3 the main story already hv, but they tried to hide more of em on event story quest
Katarina is the only Fatui Cicin Mage that made me feel bad for the Fatui and the rest of them team that got trapped, without help of the Millelith, thanks to Tartaglia’s actions of trying to destroy Liyue Hopefully we get to see her again and this ending has warmed my heart
@@snipergames15theinhuman97 What I meant was: Fatui had a contract with Qixing to protect Liyue people from dangers in the Chasm together, but Zhongli ruined this cooperation and sacrificed all Fatuis that were down there for his plan. And Millelith does not question orders, they execute them. From all the dialogues and texts inside Chasm we see that Fatui there do not understand why Millelith soldiers suddely started attacking. If they hate Fatui so much, they probably should jail them, not leave them to die alone, wounded and starving.

After you finish her quests, you can go to the place her brother was last seen and notice that there is air flowing into the cracks of rocks. Like those domain entrances.
The moment I started her quest I knew what to expect so I did what any person who had to deal with too much tragedy in this game does. Run away from it until I am mentally ready. Chasm was pure depresion and people still say this game is not dark, what are their standards? In many ways some NPC are more complex as characters then the playable ones.
Feel the same.. i did not do either inazuma, or enkanomiya so rapidly.. and even chasm for this case.. i tell my brother (ar 58) and he said "you had zhongli already, what is the problem" my response (ar 56) is just.. "those places is so depressing"
The chasm is literally the impact site for an asteroid. Or something from beyond teyvat. Something that really made me realize how subtly dark genshin is...was picking flowers. Y'know those red flowers you use as ascension materials? "only grow in places of bloodshed" Thought that was just rumor flavor text for inazuma folk...until I ran out of flowers to pick at the beach. The only other location for these is *around the samurai puppet.* it becomes aggro when you go close. Meaning that this puppet after wandering in here, activates and slaughters passersby. The place is *saturated* enough to rival a recent civil war battlefield. And if you go at night like I did you'll see lost souls floating around, some near to flowers...squint harder and you'll notice some of the rocks are actually gravestones. Some of the samurai enemies nearby are likely paying respect to dead friends.
The chasm's stories bring a lot of sadness and reality to the Genshin world.. It's just the way that it is sadly.. Hopefully we can meet this characters again in the future..
Anton, Katarina and Lyudochka are one of my favorite fatui in the game. They just made me realize that not all fatui are bad people. Hoping for more stories to come from the fatui in the future.

@@Ben-vg6ox Well most of the Fatui NPCs we meet are quite honest and open about following their duty (apart from Lyudochka). Anton and Katarina would be your enemy if that was their mission, even if they wished to be your friend. You know where you stand with them. Childe, you never know what his agenda is. He's a good character, sure, but it's a bit of a stretch to call himself your friend after the stunts he pulled. And likely will again in the future.
Thanks so much for giving her this ending. I really wanted to help her more in the game, or accompany her out of the chasm so that I can at least ensure she makes it out safely. Really hope she's okay.
you can find her notes down in the water, near the place you found Kolya's badge. There is a Husk standing there, which implements that Katerina choose to die in battle.
@@latiaslatios7766 Yes I know... :( I had found the notes. While it's possible that she had died, I'd like to say that the ending to her story is still somewhat ambiguous. There's also a possibility that she barely got away and was just injured. Either way, I'm just hoping for the best here.

Omg if the 9th company managed to find her that'd be the most wholesome ending! I hope we get to find out whether they made it out in one piece in future quests
Theres another quest in the chasm that involves helping Fatui, theres that one group of fatui that got stuck in the chasm with no food because their information from their captain got cut off due to some accident and their stuck their to starve, I helped them and gave them some food and after you do they say stuff like: "I hope we dont become enemies" and "I hope we see each other again, friend" it was truely one of my favorite side quests.
Chasm is really creepy place and has dark story. Most of the time I want to get in and get out as fast as I can but Katarina is the only reason I want to stay in it a little bit for her. It's really sad for her unconfirmed ending but it also make room for player to imagine her ending. I'm really thank you for this video. (After I had done her quest line ,I tried to find Friendly Fatui to go and save her like in your video, too.)
The moment where she offers us some vodka and we have no other choice but to refuse is heartbreaking. Also, those starving soldiers and traveler packed with food. I mean, I would provide them any amount needed as humanitarian aid.
I've always been fond of the Cicin Mages. I do hope Katarina shows up later, maybe when we finally go to Scheznaya. To see her without the mask. Or hell... make her a character we can recruit.
Actually, it's possible she's still alive, because the next day we came back to where the letter was abandoned and its gone so maybe she went back to retrieve it.
Her quest shows that there's no such thing as "plain evil villains" in this game. The Fatui and even the abyss order have their own reasons for acting the way they do. Their actions are rooted in strong beliefs and conviction in order to reach their goals, whatever they'll end up being. It's not a "black and white" kinda situation and I love that. It sparks empathy even for enemies. A sign that what you believe to be right and true, may simply not be the whole story.
Yeah... a lot of them are doing what they think is right. Yeah some of em are trash like we've seen... but there are many that are just following the Tsaritas... and well looking into the lore... the past and stuff. You kinda understand "Why" the Tsaritsa is doing what she's doing.
I did her quest but stopped before finishing it and I will wait until arriving at snezhnaya, still checking on her every day to make sure she is safe. I use my imagination to talk to her every time I visit her.😁
The first time I meet her, I don't know if It's coming from my experience or what, but somehow I know that these usual enemies of mine will do something to my feels

Man... the Chasm have one of the darkest stories in Genshin. I can't help but feel bad for the fatuis that were sent to protect people and suddenly were chased out of nowhere from their pov.
aside from the lovers at liyue harbor that we players winged to fruition because of daily or world quest, this is the second fatui npc that we can really look forward to seeing again, I'm so glad I never completed her quest and she is still in there
Many said that childe didnt care abt the fatui soldiers under the chasm. I dont know about that but i have doubt since childe was new harbringer and he was always given task in faraway land so does he know that there were fatui in the chasm.i think he dont abt the fatui that were sent to chasm
I hope to god this is how it ended for her. I can't imagine finding out they died when we kinda got attached to them. Even though they are just a bunch of codes.

We weren't mentally prepared to face Katerina going missing and possibly killed or hiding, this is a better ending for her Character Quest.
After I've done her 2nd quest, I came back the next day hoping to help her in her next quest. But then I was sad and depressed.

ファデュイの一般認識が悪い奴だったとしても徴兵された兵士とか家族を故郷に置いてきた兵士を見ると流石に心が痛んだわ。
最終的には氷神が出てくるんだろうけど味方のキャラとしては受け入れられそうにない。

Omg if the 9th company managed to find her that'd be the most wholesome ending! I hope we get to find out whether they made it out in one piece in future quests
Theres another quest in the chasm that involves helping Fatui, theres that one group of fatui that got stuck in the chasm with no food because their information from their captain got cut off due to some accident and their stuck their to starve, I helped them and gave them some food and after you do they say stuff like:
"I hope we dont become enemies" and
"I hope we see each other again, friend"
it was truely one of my favorite side quests.

Chasm is really creepy place and has dark story. Most of the time I want to get in and get out as fast as I can but Katarina is the only reason I want to stay in it a little bit for her.
It's really sad for her unconfirmed ending but it also make room for player to imagine her ending. I'm really thank you for this video.
(After I had done her quest line ,I tried to find Friendly Fatui to go and save her like in your video, too.)

The Chasm storyline is so depressing, almost all the existing force that receive the task to explore was destroyed
Since 2.7 focuses on the Chasm follow-up story hopefully these npcs gets a good ending conclusion

Also, those starving soldiers and traveler packed with food. I mean, I would provide them any amount needed as humanitarian aid.
I've always been fond of the Cicin Mages. I do hope Katarina shows up later, maybe when we finally go to Scheznaya. To see her without the mask. Or hell... make her a character we can recruit.

plot twist: she ended up dying. The end part was just the last moment of her in her dream, which never happend.

Actually, it's possible she's still alive, because the next day we came back to where the letter was abandoned and its gone so maybe she went back to retrieve it.
I swear the side quests in this game made me drop a fill tears of sadness and sometimes joy
I really hope this is how it ended, rather than what the game likes us to think ( her dying by the hands of the knight ).

Her quest shows that there's no such thing as "plain evil villains" in this game. The Fatui and even the abyss order have their own reasons for acting the way they do. Their actions are rooted in strong beliefs and conviction in order to reach their goals, whatever they'll end up being. It's not a "black and white" kinda situation and I love that. It sparks empathy even for enemies. A sign that what you believe to be right and true, may simply not be the whole story.

She was a nice addition to the game even if it was very brief. Not all Fatui are that bad and nice that her allies found her.
Yeah... a lot of them are doing what they think is right. Yeah some of em are trash like we've seen... but there are many that are just following the Tsaritas... and well looking into the lore... the past and stuff. You kinda understand "Why" the Tsaritsa is doing what she's doing.
I did her quest but stopped before finishing it and I will wait until arriving at snezhnaya, still checking on her every day to make sure she is safe.
I use my imagination to talk to her every time I visit her.😁
After Lyudochka, Anton & the bois and Katarina... i feel sad that we killed so many innocent fatus on our journey

Man... the Chasm have one of the darkest stories in Genshin.
I can't help but feel bad for the fatuis that were sent to protect people and suddenly were chased out of nowhere from their pov.
Katarina...probably one of the few fatuis to show their human side.
Unfortunately in the game I can only wish she had a better life than this.
Everything related underground always had ties with the abyss. Enkanomiya and Chasm were the biggest update so far with this

aside from the lovers at liyue harbor that we players winged to fruition because of daily or world quest, this is the second fatui npc that we can really look forward to seeing again, I'm so glad I never completed her quest and she is still in there
