    I find it wild that this mode didn't release with a PvE counterpart the same way tarkov has now, could've had both crowds right out the gate, this definitely looks like a more laid-back experience

      PvE Operations would be so dope....and I saw a lot of people asking for it and hopefully it is something for the future. Forever Winter and PvE tarkov clearly show that there is an audience for it.

      I should have answered that question...but yes DF is eating up my time like nothing. I am a total loot-goblin...quite addictive to hoard absurd amounts of cash and assets...like a dragon sitting on his pile of gold :-D

    Would love to see a Brakkesh Solo Stealth Run, a bit apprehensive to dump 180k just to visit the map

      I did some successful solo "no backpacks" runs to complete a handful of quests. A really fun map, but without the backpack you have limited loot opportunities. Love the map though.

    I would say the biggest mistake is don't use the G3. Its rate of fire gets you killed a lot. If you want that hard hitting weapon use the SCAR. A budget weapon with good TTK is the QBZ and it has good armor pen. The 93R pistol with purple ammo is great for solo as it is not expensive and it melts armor at close range. For SMG the MP5 is a good al around choice.

    • @wholesomegamer
      @wholesomegamer  2 дня назад

      For Zero Dam I like to use a pimped Bison if you are on a tight budget - just 60k for a good weapon. The QBZ is also one of my favorites!

    I have very limited experience with the "operations" mode but it seems like a casual Tarkov. Which is not a good or bad thing by itself. It all comes down to player preference. DF is beginner friendlier than Tarkov which is a positive for everyone who donesn't have the time and patience to invest into Tarkov. Also there are quality of life features like a map, tags on your team mates so you don't accidentally shoot one another, ammo counter and so on. You can queue in a team with random players if you don't have available friends and don't feel like going solo (maybe Tarkov has added that too, haven't played it in a while). The game is nothing special but it is a good and free alternative to the other extraction shooters.

      The new player economy is super relaxed...I mean today I hit 40million in cash +50 in assets and I just play as a "loot-goblin" avoiding PvP if possible.

    Hey Wholesome Gamer, have you tried Ground Branch? It's also a PvE tactical shooter, but is possible to Coop and PvP as well.
    I ask because the tactical shooter games in my library right now are only RoN and Ground Branch. I know you already talked about RoN on your showdown video, and I'm wondering what you think about Ground Branch - it's more akin to the classic Rainbow Six games than an extraction shooter exactly. It's Intel retrieval game mode is probably the closest to an extraction mode, but it doesn't have loot or anything. You come in with the gear you've selected and customized.

    • @wholesomegamer

      I feel my monkey-brain wants loot and progression and Ground Branch is a bit to "dry" for my taste atm. But I do have an eye on it and hope for more content.

      Yes, just uncheck "Squad Fill" in the start-screen on the lower right hand side, easy to overlook, because it is just a tiny checkbox.

    listen man, the way you die at 7.40 is because of a lack of confidence.
    at some point you have to believe in yourself. i mean u already stated the different things you could have done, which is a good thing!
    keep self reflecting your gameplay and be like a lion, stealthy but killer!

      I know that in most PvP encounters I die because I´m making the wrong decisions and think to much. I slowly learn to push more when I can´t quickly disengage and simply hope for the best. But I certainly don´t enjoy seeking out PvP and being aggressive, just not my thing. Thank you for the tip, I will give it my best :-)

    Tbh after reaching gold rank, the skill gap is huge. You have to adapt new styles and skills because those players are definitely not player around

    • @wholesomegamer
      @wholesomegamer  2 дня назад

      I really never felt that there is a ranked matchmaking and tend to believe the devs that there is none (apart from new player protection). But I DO felt the gear gap after two weeks on normal and switched to completely doing easy with blue gear and some purple ammo to even the odds as a solo.

      @wholesomegamer  2 дня назад +1

      Yep, to each his own...I think it is a cool PvP game, but playing stealthy is surprisingly entertaining. And every once in a while a squad or duo rushes around a corner, only to run into a well set trap, because I heard them a mile ago coming.

    this is good. but i like a more breakdown on how you can loose every match and still make money. because i never understood how you can do that.

    • @wholesomegamer
      @wholesomegamer  2 дня назад +2

      I´m about to hit 40mil in cash and thought about giving a more detailed breakdown. But if you are really low on cash, just take hacklaw naked in a match and grab the gear from the first NPC kill with her knife and go true "zero to hero" - even if you are killed you have the items in your save-box and invested nothing. Once you can craft purple armor at the blacksite you can make a daily 100k+ from selling a chest or helmet. You have an easy daily task that gives you 3 gear tickets (it is always in the first of three daily challenges).

      @wholesomegamer this is good. But talk to me as somone who tried it once. Died. Saw I lost everything and put it down believeving this game is too inherently toxic.

    • @wholesomegamer
      @wholesomegamer  2 дня назад

      @@yunque3748 OK, I see where you are coming from. Treat it as a stealth/avoidance game, be patient, sneak around, only use gear tickets and really cheap gear the first 10 matches until you figure out the map. Stay away from the marked hot-spots (yellow marked safes) on the map, look up the birds nests and there is plenty of loot in normal stashes on routes hardly a player takes. Stay concealed the first 3-4 minutes of the raid and listen to where the fights are and start exploring once the initial mayhem is over. Any Player will shoot on sight, that´s the nature of a PvP game, it only works for me because I enjoy being a sneaky loot-goblin. But there is a learning curve and there is no way around it.

    • @yunque3748
      @yunque3748 2 дня назад +1

      @@wholesomegamer kinda. i guess it got lossed in translation. you mentioned how generous this game is. and how you can loose gear but still make money to replace it. so i was wondering what systems or stuff like in the hub that gives you more gear or rewards for things even when you loose.

    • @wholesomegamer
      @wholesomegamer  2 дня назад +1

      @@yunque3748 The first games I lost the game gave me free gear tickets for compensation and even a bad game will progress in the battlepass which has some free stuff early on, like the bigger safe-box. If you take the premium, the pass constantly drops gear on you. The daily super-easy challenges give 3 tickets each day, the numerous events, weekend supplies and so on give either free gear other super cheap in the craftwork section...it takes a bit to get around all theses things, because how the menus are structured, but especially when I started I was surprised how much compensation gear I was getting.
