As a 12 year old growing up watching the Young Ones, my friends and I would mimic these episodes almost perfectly on the playground. I loved all of the Alexei Sayle cameos.
Fun fact, Alexei Sayle had no lines, they would let him riff in front of the camera.

yes, that's a Dylan song (Subterranean Homesick Blues), performed by 'Ken Bishop's Nice Twelve', who were a mismash of comedians and actual musicians, notably Stewart Copeland from The Police, and Chris Difford and Jools Holland (yes that one) from Squeeze. Plus everyone's favourite singer on kids' TV, Derek Griffiths. This was their only appearance in anything, they didn't exist outside of the show as a band.

Back in the day when MTV was running this, I was in front of the tv for every minute of each episode. I kept trying to turn people I knew in my tiny Texas home town on to this but they just never seemed to be able to get it.
I, on the other hand, found it absolutely hilarious. I always figured the british accent played a part as well as british expressions and terms. I had to learn and figure alot of it myself. This show was stupid, funny, brilliance!
I'm extremely glad to see people watching it for the first time.

Everyone's covered most of what I'd have to say about the Young Ones.
The League of Gentlemen's another British Comedy. Disturbing and Hilarious in almost equal measure.
I think reacting to the Young Ones other than obviously because they're funny draws people in because British Comedy abroad seems to boil down to Monty Python, Obviously again, for good reason, so it's nice to see the later Alt Comedy get an appreciated viewing. :)

Love your content, you have a refined taste in comedy (I'm not just saying that because I'm British 😂).
I noticed that you said a previous Young Ones episode gave you a lot of views, and that copyright is a delicate area with reactions.
I have watched a few "American Reacts to UK" Stuff, and yours is definitely more unique.
If you wanted to boost your views in the algorithm, you would probably need to react to things like 'Blackadder, Bottom and Red Dwarf'. But I feel like the more obscure ones, may get you a better following in the long term.
May I suggest reacting to things like....
    Filthy, Rich and Catflap
    The Danger Brothers
    Royle Family
Two Pints of Lager and A Packet of Crisps
Phoenix Nights (not really an obscure one, but not many Americans know about it)
Max and Paddy's road to nowhere
It might be worth seeing how these series work for you. They don't appear to have a lot of exposure on RUclips, and may help with copyright issues. They also have a huge cult following, which could draw a lot of views to your channel.
Don't give up on the grind.

It was finally released on the most recent edition, which was 2007 as someone said. None of the other episodes had music cut, I believe. Must have just been because it was a Dylan song. I liked all the songs so I tracked down all the bands over the years (Motorhead, the Damned, Madness, Amazulu, Nine Below Zero, Dexy's Midnight Runners, Rip Rig + Panic) and also taped the remaining songs off the show (like Radical Posture's "Dr. Marten's Boots" and this show's Dylan song) and put together my own CD... starting and ending with the theme song and the end credits song. The reason why you're getting so many views is that some shows are really popular, and The Young Ones is one of them. I'm British born and raised from London, and, to me, it's pretty obvious on why you're getting so many views for this; it's a formula of the show you're reacting to and your reaction to that show; getting a winning combo like your reactions to Father Ted or The Young Ones, then the views will come and they'd be a hit.

Not sure if Alexei Sayle's song is a parody of the song 'I lift up my finger and I say tweet tweet'?

true but it's brilliantly weird and unpredictable and that's what makes it enjoyable even if sometimes it's not that funny.

In some of the episodes, there's actually a 5th house mate. But like a lot of things if you blink you will miss him. How many shows include senseless violence ?

I've always meant to ask what the song is called that The Taffe Man uses in his intros. It's so good.

The song for this intro is just some generic non copyright song, not sure of the name. The song on the casino intro is The Price is Right theme.

@@stephencampion2127 Neil's haircut was probably a belated shout-out to Oakey Blokey, but it was also a missed opportunity - he's meant to be a hippie, so with that in mind, if he'd started growing a beard, in keeping with the poverty theme, and then shaved half his face at the same time as he cut half his hair...well, need I say more?
