    Great review, some nice surfing as well. How. much do you weigh? (33L) I'm 5'9" 220lbs...Thuoghts on size?

    • @WoolyTV
      @WoolyTV  5 лет назад +5

      Hi mate
      I'm 6'1 1/2" and fluctuate between 87 - 90kgs which is about 192 - 198lbs but note I'm 45 years young and a very strong paddler. Just going off what Im riding and scaling that up to your weight I would probably look at 36- 37L??
      So maybe 6'2" or 6'3". depends what you are used to riding and what you are currently riding - plus you need to take into account age and fitness :) Hope that helps....

      Thanks mate, yeah Im just over 6'1" (187cm) and 90kg. All my short boards are around 33 - 33.5L. My first step up (6'6") is around 35-36L and my grovellers are around 35-36L too.

    Hi wooly , your videos are awesome thanks for all , I want to buy a monsta box o monsta box 2020 us a dayly driver for beach breaks waist to head size waves what dims you recomend me?I am 5,11 , weight 74 kg, 30 years young, 17 years surfing, strong paddler, .One more question, What diference you see in your personal opinión between the monsta box and the monsta box 2020 which one you prefer? Im really happy this will be my first JS surf board im from Spain, thanks so much for your time and experience.

      HI mate
      I haven't used the new 2020 as yet (My one should be here next week for me to review). From what I can see there are only very subtle changes to the old one in the 2020 update so I would go the new one for sure. I would be looking at a minimum of 27L if you are a high level surfer thats very fit and a good paddler otherwise just bump up the volume a bit more to accommodate your level and fitness. Have a look at your current volume and work backwards from there.
      Hope that helps
      Wooly

    Thanks for the review just ordered a monsta box with swallow tail 6'0 with 32.6l was going to go with the fcs2 performer pc carbon fins I am 78kg would a large suit this board better thanks

    • @WoolyTV
      @WoolyTV  5 лет назад +2

      Hi Matt
      If you usually use small fins then try the medium on the MB swallow. If you normally use mediums then try a large. Remember if you use a carbon/stiffer fin you won’t need to go as big. Hope that makes sense?
      Cheers

      Hi mate, I usually use really stiff fins in my HYFIs. This review is done on a set of medium performer carbons.

    Hi… have you ever ride the MonstaBox round tail?

      Hi mate. I have not ridden the MBox as a round tail, only the squash tail.

    Great review, how would you compare it to the new raging bull model? I'm curious as I can't decide which one to buy.. thanks mate

    • @WoolyTV
      @WoolyTV  4 года назад +1

      Hi Jason, I haven't ridden the Raging Bull but it looks pretty close to a Monsta Box round tail. The Raging Bull would probably be a little better as a good wave board where as the Monsta Box is a great step down/everyday board. The Raging Bull only comes in the round tail where as the Monsta Box you can get in a swallow, squash and round. So depends what you are after. Im hoping to try a Raging Bull soon. Hope that helps

    Hi thanks for the review im 6 ft 4 102 kg what volume /size would u recommend .Thanks

    • @WoolyTV
      @WoolyTV  4 года назад +1

      Hi mate
      I think every day boards should be around your height - some people prefer a inch shorter/longer but seems to be around your height. As far as volume goes then I wouldn't ride anything less than 38L - thats if you are an excellent surfer and very paddle fit, if your intermediate then I would be looking more around 41L plus. Foam is your friend!
      So in the JS Monsta Box around 6'4" or you could look at the new Easy Rider version of the Monsta Box at 6'4" for more volume. Where are you based?
      Cheers

    Hey man, what board has more get up and go speed between monstabox and BB3 from waist to head high ? I have a hard time choosing. I surf Sydney beaches so u know what I m talking about

    • @WoolyTV
      @WoolyTV  4 года назад

      Hi mate, for Sydney waist to head high waves I would go the BB3 in HYFI for sure. The shorter more volume, flatter rocker will be better suited. If you cant find one at your local surf shop then hit me up and we can get you one delivered to your door.
