Wooly, you and JS are made for one another.... Great backhand surfing coming off the bottom with only a couple dug rails but you just killed it in small waves homeboy!!!!!!! Forget performance boards, you are the grovel KING......🤙💪👍
looks like a really fun board for small soft waves. also, looks really good for someone needing to slow up their surfing to work on turns, get in early and plane on softer waves to create opportunities. Might be perfect for my waves actually. :) Thanks Wooly for the review.
@@WoolyTV It used to be the old Baked Potato but they don't make that anymore and mine fell apart. :( I love my Mashup and the Bobby Quad. too many to choose from, LOL.
You aussies are so fortunate. What you call crappy surf would be borderline epic in so cal. Pealing peaks running all the way down the beach. Yew!! I was speaking about the first 2 spots you were surfing. Board looks good under your feet.
@@rodbarrett1581 yeah I did have some good waves to test the board out in as well as some junk. And I always watch Trestles and which I had a wave like that!
Hi Wooly! You convinced me to pull the trigger on the FF as my summer groveller! In the review you mainly rode it as thruster so we didn't see footage of you riding it as a quad. Noel liked the 2+1 and said it lit up as a quad. If possible, can I get quad and 2+1 recommendations from you for this board in FCS2? I am buying a Holy Hypto as a daily driver too (already have a Hypto Krypto but in higher volume for cruising) and know you can play with fins in that board too. Thanks again for your time and the awesome reviews mate. It convinced me on the FF!!!
Great review. I’m very similar measurements to you. I have the subzero but want a better groveller would you stick with the 5.8 36.5lt?Sometimes going bigger volume they become corks.
@@video1critic the FF felt a bit more sparky but I was riding the PU version of the Phoenix. I do love riding the FF - that board is so fun in small waves.
@@WoolyTV hopefully you get to review it. I’m interested in getting one but haven’t sorted which size to get. I’m your size and 44 years old, surfing since I was 10 with a few breaks in between. @@martinvelezmoro7250 BF has more pinched rails and obviously only has the twin option. The FF has the option to run as thruster/twin/2 + 1 with the 5 boxes. The FF will out grovel the BF but the BF will handle bigger waves and you can turn sharper on it.

Ok, I rode it as a quad with the JS mediums, but I would go the large quads for sure. You could try an MR 2 + 1, I think they would also work well.
