This song was added to Band-Maid's sets to give Saiki, the main singer, a vocal break. Band-Maid has a few instrumental songs, and they are all epic, but this one started it off. "Without Holding Back", and "From Now On" are a couple more. Yes, Kanami, lead guitarist, plays PRS guitars. I think EVH smiles down from heaven every time this song is played!

Nice reaction guys. When it comes to instrumentals Kanami writes some of the most technical and complex compositions I've ever heard. You have to react to the MV of From Now On also, as it is yet another technical masterpiece, as well as Without Holding Back. but the best part is that when you see them live they sound exactly the same. Granted, the videos are more polished sound-wise, but the effect of the raw and unfiltered sound is just mind-boggling. I've seen them three times since the fall of 2022 and have heard Onset and From Now On played live at each show.
There are a lot of casual listeners who look at an instrumental of a bunch of musicians on stage jamming with no real composition involved, but Band Maid is nothing like that. Everything is planned out and performed to perfection. Band maid's amazing musicianship is just fantastic to watch and listen to.
All hail the almighty Tiny Hat! Such a brilliant era of the Maids’ music. Coincidentally, my current favorite song is also from that period,“Moratorium.”
Band Maid is such a fusion band that favorite songs will change with the moods and seasons.
They’ve done four dedicated instrumental tracks, and have released instrumental versions of many of their hits. I doubt many other bands could do such things, as everyone else seems to simply cut and paste verses and choruses. Band Maid writes a lot of instrumentals, and just often add lyrics.
Yes, that's how Play was. It was originally intended as an instrumental, but Saiki liked it so much that Miku wrote the lyrics for him.
BAND-MAID is playing the best rock I have heard in decades. I can't say enough about how much I love this band. Every person who likes hard rock should hear this band!
They could easily stand on stage with the great fusion bands of the 70s and 80s. Thanks for checking this out. There are three other instrumentals up on YT, all insanely good.

Red Rose Miku, Sept. 14, 2017 interview: At the Band forming nobody in our band had done "Hard Rock" so we had started without knowing anything - we have grown greatly musically as a Band.
Misa on bass is playing a Black Cloud Custom 5-string bass aka "Black Smoker: Through Orange Amplifiers AD 200 Bass Mk 3 and a Orange OBC410 4x10'' 600-Watt Bass Speaker Cabinet. Kamami on lead plays PRS custom 24 through a Mesa/Boogie Triple Rectifier 150-Watt Tube Head and a Mesa / Boogie 4 x 12. Miku Rhy. Guitar play Zemaitis Guitars through a EVH 5150 III 100-Watt Tube Head and EVH 5150 III 4 x 12 cab. Akane Drums plays Tama Starclassic , Zildjian Cymbals and uses a DW 9002 Double Pedal.
Akane's "Tiny Hat' was actually MISA's (bass). MISA is just too cool to wear the hat, let alone a maids outfit so she dumped the outfit and threw the hat out. Akane (drums) being the certifiable nut that she is, recovered the hat and played with it until late 2017 or early 2018 then retired it because it was just holding her back from her drumming style. So anytime you see her with the hat on you know that's pre2018 there about.
ALL Band-Maid instrumentals are Monster tunes and a must listen. Onset. Without Holding Back, and From Now On, Don't Be Long are stand alone instrumentals. They have many more instrumentals that are from lyric songs.
I also watched a Japanese interview where Akane was asked about her tiny hat. She seemed to miss it a little. She also commented that Miku made the final decision to ditch it because, “it made her look like a boy.”
@@MusicMike747 Interesting....never heard that one. I would LOVE to see Akane break out the little hat once again, but just when they play "Thrill" LIVE. That would bring down the house!!! Dorian has a video out today celebrating 20Million views of "Thrill".... check it out!
@@MusicMike747 That's the first I've heard of that as well. I hope Miku didn't say it that bluntly, but she probably did. It wasn't long after the hat was retired that Akane started letting her hair grow out and down over her shoulders. I remember the band members were saying she was "glamorous" now. I thought so too. :)

MISA uses a small 200w digital amp now.
Next - "Hate" & "No God" at Lallapalooza with Bass and Guitar exchanges. They were the second Japanese Band to be invited to Lallapalooza. They killed it. Did you notice how MISA, bass was playing with the pick and slapping. The trick is did you see where she puts the pick when she slaps??

As the Maids said at Yokohama, beginning 2024, it's "Chapter Two" for Band-Maid. What does that mean -- a new direction in music on their upcoming summer album... new battle gear... different stage show or venues... more collabs (The Warning, Lovebites, individual musician appearances?)... member and band projects like scoring movies, aniMaids, soloing projects like Cluppo... someone getting married or 👶🐣?? BASSのmisaはピック持ちながらクラッピングできる素晴らしい奏者です。
Band Maid have had the original five members since the start. Well Saiki the singer did join a little later but not by much. Akane the drummer no longer has the hat thank goodness. 10 years of great music and varied.
Saiki joined about two months later after the band formed.
If you like Band Maid you should give Lovebites a listen.
