Welcome to this quick start video on the Benro Polaris Smart Tripod Head. In this video you will learn the basic principles to get your Benro Polaris up and running. Enjoy capturing the night skies with Polaris.
Just received my Benro Polaris today, Thank for sending me🤗 soon I will post a feature video on my youtube channel 🙂
Where did you purchase it
On your site it says Canon 7D Mark II is supported, yes among the cables that comes with the Polaris there isn't one to connect it to the 7D 😕
Thank you for reaching out! You will need an OTG cable such as this one:pulse.ly/0wxw8erlky. The OTG cable connects the Canon 7D OEM cable to Polaris.
Your product doesnt start on my tripod and i dont know what’s the issue is it the tripod or the process

Basically it works. But more than half of the description in the instruction manual is in Chinese. If you will download the instruction manual v1.1, then you still only get v1.0. Change or delete password does not work, and so on .... great idea, but that is far from finished.
Can you connect the Polaris to a Canon Mark 4 camera? If so, what cable is needed?
You can find a list of compatible cameras at www.benro.com/en/polaris-compatible-list.html
i see that Nikon Z8 is missing whereas Z9 and Zfc are in the list. is it normal ? i highly doubt that Z8 isnt supported, could you check this please ?@@BenroUSA
I am trying to get the Polaris as level as possible and I have read conflicting information. Should the Polaris itself be as level as possible? Or the Astro plate? Or the camera on the astro plate? I wish there was an in-depth guide on how to set up the Polaris for astrophotography as accurately as possible.
Hi! The Polaris itself needs to be leveled after double tapping the joysticks. Please see our Astro Quick Start guide here. ruclips.net/video/AEnES2m4r7s/видео.html&ab_channel=Benro
When will this be available to purchase in Canada?
You can contact the Benro distributor in Canada at info@macgroupca.com
My Polaris starts in the "closed condition." I press the power (short + long) and hear the 3 beeps. It then starts to move, but stops when the camera is pointing 45 deg up -- NOT horizontal as your video shows. I then go to the app (on an iPhone 14 w/ current iOS), and the connection never shows the device. I go to settings, and the Polaris settings are all on, as expected. I can't get any further, since the Polaris does not connect to the app... :(

Exactly the same here.
Why does it need sim card?
A phone and the companion app are required to access the smart features of the Polaris Tripod Head.
Now would be great to demo how to connect 4G cellular version, or answer with wifi connection, many phones failed to connect unless cellular signal on the phone is disabled… 😞
Yes please demo cellular connect
Why does it need a SD-Card? What capacity should the SD-Card be?
Local storage of pictures from your camera and it also contains files related to the Benro unit itself (diagnostics, logs, etc.). To save pictures locally, you must set the camera to capture JPG (or RAW & JPG). Any typical size card should work up to 1TB at least. I use a 256GB card myself.
The SD card allows Polaris to save backup images within the unit - both JPEG and RAW, as well as store them for internal processing for faster sharing.
Question I hope someone can address... when I have mine running from a power bank for extended use, the power LED flashes between colors at times. Not all the time, only occasionally between amber and green (I think - as I'm color blind). I know the power LED is solid green when charging and flashes on/off when fully charged, but what does the flashing between colors mean?
There should not be an amber light - it should only flash or remain green depending on Power or charging status. If you continue to have this issues, please email support@benro-campaign.com so we can help troubleshoot.
@@BenroUSA I can't tell the colors (if it is just one color or two), but it is definitely flashing between hi/low and not on/off. It only happens once in a while and I can't pin down the cause.
Ok, I had messaged in Kickstarter Benro Polaris and 3 hours later (yay!) I get a message with a link to reset (I hope) the password. You have to download a script to a SD card, insert into unit, and it (I guess) wipes out your old password so you can put in a new password. DON’T LOSE your password!
Now I need to message Benro in Kickstarter about my device not turning on, as creating a new password at this time is moot! It seems that the Kickstarter Benro Polaris is the quickest way to get attention vs direct emails to Benro Polaris support.
I’m listening carefully to this & WHAT !!!! Insert cellular SIM card & use Wifi .. can you imagine the Phone bill at the end of the month for DATA usage for shooting a Timelapse seq 4 hours of data on your phone used. NO WAY !!!! It’s using cellular data to operate. WOW !!! EXPENSIVE TOOL !!!
Complete junk: I was a launch backer for the Polaris, and it still does not work properly with the OM System OM-1. What a waste of time and money.
We're sorry to hear you're dissatisfied with the quality of your Polaris! Have you reached out to support for assistance in troubleshooting?
It doesn't work, don't buy it
Not sure where you get the info from, or maybe something wrong with your setup. But I have taken lots images (most astro) with it since 3 months ago
Thats like saying the car I bought is defective, don't buy cars.
It took me a few tries to figure it out .. but I am happy with it so far ..
