I've owned this exact vehicle since mid December 2021. It gets 300 miles real world driving. I highly recommend this vehicle as a daily driver. Do not buy an electric vehicle to travel and make sure you install a 240v at the house. I commute 40 miles a day for work and it cost me $30-35/mo to charge.
I also have Tesla insurance paying $77/mo for 1,000,000 per person per accident insurance. My safety score has gone up to 99/100 now so next month will be $66 for insurance. It's a great vehicle.
The sport option becomes available on the LR when you purchase the acceleration boost upgrade. In the UK I bought the 2021 model 3 long range at £46,990. Well worth it and I still absolutely love it. 16 months later the same car is £57,490, I wouldn't buy it new today, I don't think it's worth it! 258kWh battery though I'm not so sure!
Best car for daily commute. I really enjoy driving it. Its quick and nimble to get in and out of tight parking garages. I keep my V8 truck for longer road trips out to the ranch but ill drive this car until the battery craps out. nothing but good expectances.
@@jasonbenjamin7754 Depends on the trim and the mileage seems a bit high imo. Shop around on cargurus, truecar, and carmax to see what the avg is based on the year and type of the model 3 you want. I don't think it's a 100 grand luxury vehicle, it's more a state of the art affordable electric car. Personally I think the interior looks great, different people have different aesthetic tastes, example something like personal choice of paint color, some love the red some rather not. Otherwise good review cause I'm looking to purchase one.
i have a long range and when is above 50% honestly i feel like it keeps going like one time i accelerated for about 10s on the highway and i was going about 130
Honestly? For the price to get one now.... no. I mean if it drop down to 45k.. then yes. The only reason it should ever cost 60k is if you combine it with that 12k on fully auto pilot. The exterior of this car make it look like it should cost 60k, but when you step inside and actually drive it for a week.. you realize you just paid the extra 15k for gimmicky extras that come with the car... plus $10 monthly for premium. But that is just my opinion, I would tell people to go for the Y instead for more leg room, Then again you can probably get a better hybrid suv from other manufacturer.
nah bro the LR is the way to go. the gimmick is the standard. lfp is a joke. still degrades first year. cost effective for tesla to make fast and pump out cars. its not a battery thats designed for a great car like the 2022 LR , THE NCA is much better and more energy dense.
Note that the long range version has been grayed out on the website. All the Tesla fans are speculating as to why, but it's obvious the company is prepping for the new M3P battery which will give at least 400 miles.
I totally agree. I'm shopping for my next car and I would like a model 3 but man the interior is to minimal for me. Bright side of a tesla is that it doesn't depreciation as fast as Mercedes. Im really just stuck on which car to buy lexus IS 350F Sport, Mercedes amg cla45, model 3
The driving experience portion made me almost feel a little motion sickness! I guess its just a perspective thing! Great review, although I disagree about it being "ugly." I think it's just more minimalist instead of dripping in chrome and rich luxurious corinthian leather...
I have a question? I spent 42 years working in public safety communication using nicad batteries. If you charge a nicad battery every day, multiple hours, after lite to medium use it develops a memory. The memory is that if you need to use heavy current draw for a prolong period the battery quickly dies. Will this happen in a EV battery if you drive it 25-30 miles every day and charge it all night for months and then you drive it on the interstate for 300 miles, will the memory cause the battery to drop quickly to less than 20% after maybe 100 miles???????
No. These are lithium batteries. Just like the one in your phone and laptop. You can charge it whenever you want, for as long or as little as you want.
I don't get why ppl buy the LR with the NCA battery...can't charge it regularly to 100% or you're going to get higher battery degradation, the battery is more prone to fire in an accident and its only good for 300,000 to 400,000 miles....comparing it to the LFP battery in the standard, you're going to see Standard models outpacing in range to the LR in like 3 years and the battery will last over twice as long as the NCA...I have the money to get a LR model but wont until they start using the LFP battery. The stereo upgrade is fine but its not worth $10k more along with tires that decrease range and doesn't make it a smooth ride.
Don't forget the extra motor. It's an AWD. The handling and traction is much better especially on icy roads. I live in Canada and the range will drop for all cars during those months. So, the extra range will definitely help. Also, the most kms I've done in my car over 10 years is 200,000 kms. There's better stereo & interiors, fog lights, Dual Motor & also you charge much quicker than a SR at a supercharger location. These are the upgrades from SR.
Looking all the other EV offerings that have come out this year make Tesla interiors look even more simplistic. And yes, the dash wood trim is ridiculous and looks old-fashioned.
I was hoping to get some useful data about the car but couldn’t even get a third of the way through the video… I won’t thumbs down but annoyingly sarcastic / clueless is the only way I can describe you.
Your video provided NO VALUE. What did people actually get out of it? Other than you mocking “Tesla” drivers for being “ICEd out.” I don’t even understand why you made it since you took it for a spin around the block & that’s it. Not ONLY Tesla drivers get ICEd out, ANY EV driver can get that. Truth be told if you own anything OTHER than a Tesla being able to use a generic charger would be a really big deal since they cannot supercharge. Only reason people mention Tesla drivers complaints over it is because they are very active in forums & have a large online presence & cult following much like Apple does vs all other EV owners online presence is minimal. What’s your reaction when you’re in a gas station that is all full & someone has their car parked at a pump & has been sitting there for 10 minutes already full? Good thing is that they can only be gone so long & there are other pumps to choose from so you have options. Would you go park in a no parking loading zone, handicap space, taxi zone, emergency lane? Let’s turn around for 1 minute, you drive to Chevron 4 pumps & there is a Tesla, Nissan Leaf, Polestar, & Rivian all parked there. Now what would you do? Not that it would ever happen but if it did how would you feel?
these aren't good for cross country but they shine in local area daily driving. I'd rather have a gas generator electric car like the volt over a Tesla 3.
Well I have a deal in place to trade my Ram 1500 for a 2022 Model 3 Long Range and this video just convinced me to cancel. I can’t live with a vehicle that looks like it’s been designed by a 5 year old. Crappy interior made me rethink things as well. I guess I’ll hold off for a couple of years.
