Listening to you speak about colors and pigments with such knowledge and authority makes it clear why companies are lining up to have you demonstrate their paints. Bit by bit I am picking up the language of watercolor. Fascinating! Thanks for another great video! 👌👌❤️❤️
When I started working in watercolor, I thought I’d never learn the name of all the colors. But by using them over and over I have learned them. But their numbers! Ha, never like you have. It’s so impressive! But I’ve never been a numbers brain. This is a great video, thanks! And yes, I would love to win this set. Especially the tiny one. So cute!
Oh, I wish I could take all the credit you give me, but.... I do some homework on these while I'm recording the videos. I usually have the pigment database up on my screen in front of me. I'm starting to learn many of these the more I use them but I often need to refer to the pigment info while I'm talking to you. Like everything, it will all come with time. 🙂 You're in! 👍🏻
Did you try Brutfuner? Love their pencils they are awesome for coloring books. When I feel both lazy and artsy I sometimes use coloring books and love brutfuners for them.
I bought a set of the square Brutfuners for my folks about two years ago. They were great pencils. Only challenge was finding a sharpener that worked with them, not typical barrel shape or size, but coloring with them was quite lovely.
I want in, that mini palette is sooo stinkin' cute! And I can live with the pthalo green... just so you don't have to... lol. I like how it mixes with earth reds (esp DS permanent brown), makes a lovely dark forest green. 🥰
11:18 I also want in for the giveaway! That little pallet really seems well designed and easy to use. I enjoy your videos and always learn something new.
"...are the express opinions of Pete and do not necessarily reflect the views of any other artist on this or any other planet." 😂 Covering all the bases. Was that a new whisper at the beginning?
That was a new whisper. 😂 Good ears! I think it's cool too but I had the settings a little too fast and it felt like it was whipping with every little movement. It works much better outside when the surroundings move with me. It's also very cool. 👍🏻
On Amazon Canada it is $29.34 for the small palette and $31.15 for the big palette. Not so inexpensive. This is the 27th of January. I find quite a few of the colours odd and too light but thanks for reviewing them.
The next time someone tries to bust my chops for hating ultramarine blue and pthlalo green, I'm telling them "for the love of Pete, shut up and don't worry about that." Thank you.
@ Thanks Pete! We have had our tortie female, Hermione, since she was 8 weeks old and she’s now 15. God love her, she thinks she is a dog I think. She hates other cats (except a calico kitten that belonged to our son that stayed with us a couple months). She likes dogs, our parrot and all humans. Loves belly rubs and she’s not needy, but friendly. I’ve never had a cat like her! The only annoying thing about her is she wants to eat my houseplants which can be toxic, so I have to keep them put up. We had a miniature Pinscher that lived until she was 18! Man…Losing her killed me!
@@sunnycharacter Oh I know, the worst thing about pets is that we outlive them. It's heartbreaking. But you give them the best life you can for their short lives and it is so worth it. They bring so much joy. 🙂
@ So so true! You want a pet you can’t outlive, get a parrot and treat them like the treasures they are! Lol My Quaker is 5, and her life expectancy is 35…I just turned 70! 😵💫 She will undoubtedly outlive me (which horrifies my grown kids 😆). If I’d gotten a Macaw, they can live decades longer than that. So see? I did my kids a favor.
@sunnycharacter What do you have? My sister always had parakeets and now she lives in Italy on a farm. I think she has more birds than I can count. 😂 When I was really young I remember having 2 but I was only around 4. My wife is petrified of birds so I don't think I can have one. I wouldn't want to just keep it in a cage. It would go everywhere in the house I would go. I want an owl. 😂
Hey Pete! I wanna win the paints!!!! LoL. Ive. been interested in those colored pencils since they came out. Im watching the video now... Im interested in seeing how these paints are...
Hey Pete, once again you’re letting us know about new stuff. Thanks for all your hard work. I would like a shot at the watercolor kits, please enter my name. You’re awesome.
I think the main difference between "artist grade" and "student grade" is the amount of filler in the product. I really like these companies (like Arteza and Ohuhu and now Woomer) that are cutting costs in different ways so they can provide the best possible mediums. That tiny palette is the cutest thing I've ever seen and even though I really do not need more watercolors I NEED that palette lol, I'm probably going to buy one
That could be. There is usually some evidence of the filler in the paint swatch, other than just the light-fast ratings. That may be why they say these are semi-opaque, but I didn't see any evidence of that. At least they are being honest and upfront about it. I agree with you, these companies are getting very creative and finding a way to offer top quality products at very affordable prices. They deserve more credit than they get for that. 👍🏻

I envy you the ability to paint and talk at the same time.
I'm not talking while I paint. I record the painting and then do a voiceover. I couldn't do it very well either. 🙂
Oh, damn, you just burst my belief bubble. 😂
