  • Seduced by the challenge of an impossible case, the driven Dr. Jung (Michael Fassbender) takes the unbalanced yet beautiful Sabina Spielrein (Keira Knightley) as his patient in A DANGEROUS METHOD. Jung's weapon is the method of his master, the renowned Sigmund Freud. Both men fall under Sabina's spell.

People love to criticize her accent but she's doing a Russian woman speaking with a German accent from early 20th century speaking in a much more Americanized English with a speech problem and while conveying a very complex character in a very emotional state and making sure it still conveys all this to the anticipated audience. Try just doing a simple Irish or German accent for a few minutes without sounding like a stereotype. Even that requires practice and focus. I think she does a great job.

Come on now, Keira was tremendous in this scene! Stop saying shes just a pretty face and can't act, jealous folks. Haven't you seen The Imitation Game? This lady is pretty AND talented, get over it.

She's a brilliant actor who's acting very well. The accent isn't great but people are complaining too much, an accent isn't something everybody can pick up- especially without a good quality coach, which she may not have had. Even then, when you're supposed to convey an emotion and be a good actor, which she is, an accent will slip.

She's not a good actress. She definitely had coaching. And she's not worth 60 million dollars. Just think if the actual character was alive today (a psychiatrist) she'd never have a net worth anywhere near 60 million dollars. Do you see the injustice and in equality? Actors are having fun playing characters. It's never worth 60 million. It's just injustice of 21st Century.

@@jon8004 oh please. Acting and Hollywood is a nonsense created by the western world to make privileged rich white blood lines even richer for travelling the world and having fun. Acting is just that. Fun and games. Like you play as a child. I'm a better actor than she could ever be given half the chance, but guess what. I'm a nobody. I'm not an English heritage person. I come from a much much poorer background. They've created a world to make themselves even richer than they were for no reason. Wake up. How does your brain think someone pretending to be a doctor should be paid more than a doctor. Look at the insanity people are living in.

Of course I say all this. Because is the truth. But if an agent approached me tomorrow with an acting job to make millions of course I'd accept and live a life of luxury in the western world. That's the irony of the whole thing. No one would reject such a life of richness. So the thing never ends.

Amazing movie. It speaks the truth about human nature. Also, very different from other movies because they actually break the ethics and morality rules... thing that happens all the time, but nobody eevr show that in movies.

Livingston Hampton He’s Animus-Possessed throughout this scene, in exactly the same way she is Anima-Possessed.
Thereby demonstrating her earlier theories to be absolutely correct as soon as She is rebuffed sexually and she is abruptly being denied what she wants and rejected as lover.
Mute submission and surrender to a violent attack by a spurned and frustrated lover for refusing to put-out, brought on by sexual guilt and self-recrimination for having enjoyed it up until then so much, and with such enthusiastic consent?
Can there be anything more effeminate than that?
Naturally he puts up no resistance and fails even to attempt to protect himself or deflect her knife-slash, because *OF COURSE* he believes that he deserves to be cut and stabbed the face.

@jenaylegend P.s I'm not critiquing her I mean a Russian accent is very hard to nail but I do think if you can't do it perfectly than don't do it at all. I tried to do a Russian accent once, it slowly cracked into Irish than into Indian lmao

keira seems out of place in this movie ..for someone who just got slashed in the face by a knife he is pretty calm ..Maybe keira's character should of been taking some of the drugs michael fassbender's was on .to calm her the hell down HA!

So this is just my opinion but Jung was an idiot for cheating on his wife portrayed by Sarah Gadon. I don't know whether or not she was that beautiful in reality but pertaining to the film she was more beautiful than Keira Knightley's character Sabina Spielrein.
