RUclips needs to do a better job protecting true crime channels such as yourself, it’s a dying race of golden content that RUclips is massively looking over for monetary gain.
They have to satisfy their bigger advertisers and slowly turning into television killing their own format in the proces. Independant creators are their bread and butter yet they dont nurture and promote them. Most of the stuff i get in my feed is television related stuff cnn, msnbc etc. Sooner or later a other platform wil dethrone them and it wil be of their own making.
This is actually pretty accurate. There has been a slow shift towards larger institutions and corporations. I noticed during research that large news channels get things monetised which small creators would get a strike for. NBC had a thumbnail in which someone was being threatened with a gun and it was monetised. That would get a small creator a channel strike as its expressly forbidden
@@PeakedInterest "authoritative sources" is the orwellian term being used i believe. They cant compete with the raw creativity of millions of creators so they have to forcefeed the secondrate content and maintain the narrative. Rules are fine however they must be aplied fairly i 100% agree.
It’s the inconsistency that really grinds my gears, how larger creators can get away with graphic content, but smaller ones who have similar, but censored content, get fucked over with no good explanation on why. How are creators supposed to avoid breaking guidelines when RUclips doesn’t even make it clear what those guidelines are???
This is the one thing that keeps me from even attempting to start a channel of any genre. One of the worst things that a company/teacher/parent/authority can do is to play favorites and to be unfair. I feel bad for creators who just can't win, no matter how hard they try to play by the rules while others get away with whatever they want. All YT/Google cares about is money. So much for Google's "don't be evil" code.
I think this is a good idea to be honest. I think the RUclips-friendly version will probably get a lot of people curious enough to pay for the Patreon version. Your videos are excellent, I watch a lot of true crime channels and very few (if any) creators offer viewers the level of research and in-depth analysis that you do. I've learnt an incredible amount from this channel. The topics are surprisingly always interesting, something I haven't seen any other channel be able to do. My curiosity for learning about the more unknown and/or forgotten stories has increased with each video. The layout of the videos combine the seriousness and severity of the topics, but still manage to add enough "hope" as to not become depressing. Not only do the topics interest, they are presented in an educational and easily understandable way. It is truly amazing how they've previously been created and posted, free for anyone to watch. The fact that you're planning on releasing two different versions of the same case -just so one can be available for free-, is incredibly thoughtful and something I don't think a lot of other content creators would do. I admire the choice to focus on Quality, instead of the more common and easier Quantity. Finding this channel has honestly been one of the best things to happen in my life. Watching and rewatching the videos, then trying to look up information myself about it and paint a picture of the situation. Writing down small notes about different events and timelines. Each video talking about a different scenario. And even the most tragic and horrible topics are presented in a way which provide that curiosity which makes you think further than if you were to read about it in the newspaper. I think uploading the videos to patreon is more than understandable and something that would allow the documentaries to be shown in their original, uncensored version as they were intended to be.

I'll still gladly listen of course, but it's not the same. An explanation should have been provided to you for rejecting the video so you could correct it. Man, it sucks from pretty much every angle how RUclips stifles creativity and educational content. It feels like more and more people are having to work around RUclips's "guidelines" to a point where it can even distort what they're trying to articulate - the amount of creators I've seen who've had to avoid saying certain words in completely valid contexts lately is quite frankly bizarre. I think having a Patreon or KoFi or anything like that is completely understandable.

When I first found this channel I was sure it had way more subscribers, that was my first impression based on the excellent quality of the video. It's something I considered too but looking at other very large true crime channels they tend to just be a person talking to a camera anyway so I'm basically just the same as they are now except I provide an additional video which is more like a documentary

I can't support your patreon as of now as most of my money goes towards my small business. But that doesn't mean, I will stop watching and promoting you. The sheer hypocrisy of RUclips to let channels with more problematic content slide away while they place a ban on yours is infuriating. All your videos are well researched and objective, that type of content is so hard to come around on social media these days so your videos being demonetised is strangulation of creativity. Please let us know what we else we can do to help your channel. Your channel is like finding a good book, that is unbiased and gives you all fact regardless of your own thought process and I admire that. I recently cancelled 9 streaming services that I joined as free trials and decided to "just keep for 1 month", and I've had some for over a year. One I didn't even know I had at all. I still have to get rid of a few more. Many of my favorite RUclips creators offer exclusive content through Patreon. I have been tempted many times to sign up for "just this one". But I know myself too well, and I'll "just one more" myself right where I began. I support you wholeheartedly, I just can't do it financially. It's not the $1-it's what the " just $1" will lead to for me. That's total honesty.

I blame the huge influence of the advertisers which has increased over the years. Your video on 'the saddest photo ever' is really moving, so I wanted to say, well done for persevering. I put videos on Rumble, Odysee, and a few others, but it was a total waste of time. You made the right decision. I totally agree with your views on money too. I stopped monetizing my videos about a year ago, and my reach has gone down by about 40%.

Man, it sucks from pretty much every angle how RUclips stifles creativity and educational content. It feels like more and more people are having to work around RUclips's "guidelines" to a point where it can even distort what they're trying to articulate - the amount of creators I've seen who've had to avoid saying certain words in completely valid contexts lately is quite frankly bizarre. I think having a Patreon or KoFi or anything like that is completely understandable.

You should give Episodic-releases format a Try, YT algorithm loves it.

It's something I considered too but looking at other very large true crime channels they tend to just be a person talking to a camera anyway so I'm basically just the same as they are now except I provide an additional video which is more like a documentary

I recently cancelled 9 streaming services that I joined as free trials and decided to "just keep for 1 month", and I've had some for over a year. One I didn't even know I had at all. I still have to get rid of a few more. Many of my favorite RUclips creators offer exclusive content through Patreon. I have been tempted many times to sign up for "just this one". But I know myself too well, and I'll "just one more" myself right where I began. I support you wholeheartedly, I just can't do it financially. It's not the $1-it's what the " just $1" will lead to for me. That's total honesty.

I blame the huge influence of the advertisers which has increased over the years. Your video on 'the saddest photo ever' is really moving, so I wanted to say, well done for persevering.
I put videos on Rumble, Odysee, and a few others, but it was a total waste of time. You made the right decision. I totally agree with your views on money too. I stopped monetizing my videos about a year ago, and my reach has gone down by about 40%.
I can show the graphs before and after a video gets demonetized and it's really obvious

RUclips is been giving everyone a hard time on their videos which I think is bull crap to begin with. Your not allowed to see blood guts and gore they have problem's with cursing or if it's too long they don't like that. In my opinion they should pay you guy's greatly for using You Tube to air your stories. You have to do what you have to do.
