  • Kevin and I had to get the TX calves worked. Cutting and sorting can be difficult, but it helps when you have two people. These calves will be at the original ranch for a while. These calves are offspring from the previous bull we just sold from the TX 16. It will be good to have some different genetics in our program.

    Dusty enjoyed this video. I loved hearing the calves talk to you when you were putting their ear tags in. The way you gently rubbed them was so touching Dusty trying to soothe them from being weaned from mana. I said awe how sweet is that. They are just so cute now with their brown color. They are beautiful when born and still are but just browner. Thanks for taking us along. Till next time thanks.

    The gate system at the new ranch looks like it pretty good to separate and cut out what you need separated ! I think the handling gets better every time ! The new tube seems to being great ! Love seeing the new babies up close as they are being separated for weaning . And your rubbing them is a heartfelt touch . Calming to let them know they are ok ! Great job Dusty and Kevin ! Your both great with the Bison ! Loved seeing Big Joe !

    Another great video! It amazes me with the gate system on rounding them up - almost like a puzzle. Momma's were real pacey when you were loading their babies up. Loved how you gave the babies attention afterward their shots, etc.

Because of my introduction to bison was through your videos, I assumed all bison were friendly and nice company, so to speak. The Texas hurd are just plain scary to me. Great job!
    QUESTION have you considered hiring an intern to help you ? There are many farms /ranches that use them . It's a win win for both the owners and the intern .
    Greg Judy in MO. has a good program if you need a reference point. He does cattle and sheep rotational grazing on several properties in Missouri. Has 2 interns at a time .
    Just a thought .

    As always I get a grin from the videos. Usually it's the bison but today I had to laugh at the number of tries to back up to the load out. Not to worry I would take twice as many tries. My eldest son would make a very irritating back up beep every time I had to back up. I got even though I can parallel park and he can't. HAPPY NEW YEAR.

    OMGosh Mya is definitely a lap dog when it comes to bison herding. Does she engage naturally with cattle or pigs? We had to watch a toddler & other kids when our puppy was growing. Her natural instinct was to herd them too & do some heal nipping, but she really did turn into the best hand we have.

    How do the bison get worms if they are vegetarian? 🤔
    Mary from FL🌴
    Absolutely love your channel. I have learned so much about these beautiful bison. You and your family not only teach us about the bison but you show 1. how teamwork is 💯.
    2. How to treat bison with respect. 3. How to make sure that your animals get proper vet care and proper food.
    4. How to treat a wife and daughter with tenderness and admiration.
    So much more...

    • @joannathesinger770
      @joannathesinger770 2 года назад +2

      As for the worms...it goes from animal to animal in their feces. They poop in the pastures and while the poop fertilizes the vegetation, the worms stay in the grass. Dogs will inhale the larva through their nose as they sniff around...and I assume it's the same with other animals. If you don't break the cycle by killing the worm/larvae cycle with wormer, it continues. Doesn't matter what type of animal, and it crosses from animal to animal.
