the ef 24mm t1.4 MARK ONE on the full frame goodness of the mirrorless underdog EOS R is astounding. It felt like we grabbed the cinema and pulled it into our souls when you switched to it.
The old energy of the channel is back with the review of the LUMIX G9 II. Panasonic represents the underdog that is stable and hardworking, but sometimes loses focus of the bigger picture.
Some of my best photos was an a Canon Digital Rebel 6mp, 1/4 frame sensor. I had a wonderful Canon 135mm f/1.8 lens which was incredibly sharp. When taking portraits of my children, I later saw that I was fully visible in the reflection of their eyes.
I know a guy that Gooey rigged a set of dji interga googles to a BMPCC. Before he got hit by a bus he said it was a dream rig and often ran soundlessly through the golden light jumping fences and hedges and stuff...then the bus incident ended it all tragically.
Pretty happy with the results which provides my Panasonic GF1 with 25mm 1.7 lens. Much much better compered to my iphone 14 pro with moment 58mm tele lens.

Are there any bridge cameras worth buying in 2023? Something that's not 5-8 years old technology with a tiny sensor

Here's my question: how did you get that vireo to come down from the canopy? That's amazing! An FX-30 for wildlife? It has no EVF. I would think you'd eliminate it just for that. GH-9 II or A6700 for the win.
I think she was injured. I was trying to save her, called animal control and they said they could come kill her for me lol. I was like, no thanks. I got more footage of the whole ordeal on Vegetable Police coming soon. Yea fx30 no viewfinder is a deal breaker for the perfect camera.
A Great Lens is always a Great Lens. I’ve owned 2 Zeiss Milvus lenses and that quality came through on both my D850 and D750. A sensor cannot “fix” a lousy lens - good luck with that!
I bought that 12mm SLR Magic cinema lens at B&H Photo. I had set up my Olympus to 50 megapixel test shots of my SLR Magic 17mm f1.6 cinema, 17mm f1.8 M.Zuiko and 12-45mm f4.0 MZuiko lenses all at f4. The SLR Magic was definitely the softest, but color, contrast and form was just as good as the others. Getting this cheap-ass lens will hopefullt prevent me from getting a new full-frame BMCC6K or a Sigma fp kitted out with a 35mm cinema lens I saw on ebay.
I advise ALWAYS putting a bright pink background behind any video you edit in FCP. You’ll generally find there is a slither of pink around the border that shows through then. This is is a major fault in FCP. You’ll find you have to change any clip that is 100% to 101% due to the slither gap.
canon looked amazing for me. shallower dof and colours both yum yum like a good vegan mayo. (i dont mean processed to f like a good vegan mayo) would like to see g9 ii with similar dof to compare. enjoy your content. keep on.
No matter how GOOD the sensor if you shoot through a faded plastic bottle cover... Not saying that any lens you can buy these days is bad. Far from, I know a few stinkers from the age of film that are CLOWN supplies on digital sensors. But yes there is a difference between a good lens and a really good lens. Still what matters is ... what is it worth it to you. You see enough people walk around with Fujifilm or even X100's. Which sensor size is mid. But they put good lenses on their and the results are just fine. I use Sony myself, got a full frame, yes, and I can tell you good FULL FRAME lenses are bigger, heavier, and more expensive. While getting the same result, or close to, on APS-C is easier. Sure it isn't really the same result but if you post it on instagram who even notices?
Do I find a used g9 at 330 eur, or buy a like new s5 from panaboy (they offered it to me) for 870 eur with a kit lens? Used on the ocean, plenty of light, doing sports, need some reach. Will the s5 with a sigma tele be too difficult to handle or will I miss out in the long run?
Your BMPCC looks nimble compared to mine. I have this "rod" with two Canon LP-6 batteries on the side and people are staring outside like, "Why do you have an old Volkswagen anti-roll bar attached to your camera?" If they knew how long the LP-6s last, they'd shut the fuck up.
If only Olympus had 4k120, video codecs on par with GH5m2, and a better C-AF. It really be, the ultimate camera, lightweight, build quality of Russian machinegun, buttons, screen and viewfinder, good lenses. Its sad because the OM-1 sensor is perfectly rated for 4k120, huge missed opportunity by OM Systems.
Hi camera conspiracies! If I want do videos about sets of interlocking building blocks (lego) - which camera and lens would you recommend? I would like to take detailed videos as well as Videos of the construction phases in my workshop.
I haven't used one myself, but I assume the viewfinder style of the a6700 is kind of a pain in the ass with long lenses. It just isn't in line with what your camera is seeing, thus aiming for a small bird at 300mm+ probably isn't that easy.
Sony ZV-E10 with 10-20 PZ F4, or Sony a6700 with 16-50 PZ 3.5-6.3 kit lense? Is the 10 bits worth the worse lense? I'm not a professional, don't vlog. Video first in needs, my phone takes excellent pictures, I just might need to use it during a more committed time frame like shooting a video.
I noticed you have a midi keyboard close at hand. Did you compose the background music you use in your videos? It's very unusual and I love it. It really goes with your personality. Music was my life, and still is though I don't perform anymore. Anyway, good job while making it fun. Thanks.
Please Compare these lenes as they are very confusing, Fujiflim XF 35mm Tonè 2, Fujiflim XC Tonè 2, Fujiflim XF 33mm Tonè 1.4 as it is called the new best Fujiflim 35mm range lens and my main reason Fujiflim XF 35mm Tonè 1.4 the cult classic one and the one which made Fujiflim popular in the APSC lineup, I want my first first Prime Lens with low Tonè as I have a Fujiflim X-S10 and a Fujiflim XF 18-55mm Tone 2.8-4 OIS Lens right now
Anton Chekhov said "If you introduce a gun in the first scene by the third act you have to use it." NGL I was looking at that keyboard and hoping you would break into a torch song or maybe a Tom Waits medley. Disappointing.
While you were demonstrating the BMPCC I was thinking to myself to ask you "why don't you use the EOS R for your studio work more often" and then you switched to the EOS R... the EOS R blows the crap out of the BMPCC in my opinion. I reckon you should lose the BMPCC as it has never looked that fantastic in what you have shown (perhaps it is lens combination, I don't know) whereas the EOS R looks stunning pretty much every time at 1080p, particularly with that 24mm f1.4.
Just found and love your channel. However ... 6700 with 70-350 over the G9ii and 100-400? As a birder (and occasional Safaris) there's no competition the Leica pi%$£ all over the Sony (and I love Sony having 4 of their cameras) !
Isn't the G9 ii 25MP, so more data to handle than the A7siii? It's a lot to try to autofocus at 240p. Though 1080p resolution either way, so the processing speed of the cameras should handle it. The G9 ii should have a faster processor. Perhaps its autofocus is just more processor intensive? Then again, this is a pre-release version of the camera. Perhaps it will get better?
@@cameraconspiracies That makes sense. I wasn't thinking about it that way. I agree on the more MP making it tougher for readout, processing, etc. 20MP has been the sweet spot for M43 for a while because it's already the same pixel density of 80MP on full frame, if I'm doing the math right. I can't say that I am. I work nights. So I usually watch your videos in the morning when I get home. So it's late for me, and math is out the window! Math aside, I'm a lowly photographer first. So I do like the 20MP density. I'm guessing we'll have to wait to see the long-term results you end up with using the G9 ii? You must've done something right for the Panasonic people to get you an advance copy for testing. I'm waiting to see you test out that 200mm prime you've been holding onto. How much detail can that sensor pull from it? We must know!
11:20 Speaking of Fuji 70-300 and Sony 70-350, shouldn’t the real comparable rival from Panasonic be Leica 50-200? The list price is higher for the Leica, but in used market I think the price difference is not so significant.
I think the Lumix with the Leica 12mm looked better then the Canon with the 24mm L and I have several Canons and quit a few lenses too! I like my Lumix G9 and GX9 and have no issues with the focus for stills or video. I did learned on a Minolta SR7 from the late 60s and kept using it all the way to the early 2000s Everything was manual! No problem I very rarely take videos (the new term for home movies) I don’t even like watching TV.😂
@Cramtoo3 From a stills shooter's perspective it's often possible to recover details from underexposed or shadow areas, especially from RAW files, but well nigh impossible to recover anything from blown out highlights. In my first round of film days over 50 years ago I used to slightly underexpose my black and white negatives and fix it in the darkroom (the film equivalent of post!), but colour needed to be more precise.
As a solo shooter, I am still hoping for a focus motor support for/from the g9 ll, so you can use manual lenses with it's AF. Wont be snappy, but very cinematic.
Why are you so heavily against crops in video modes? Especially on for example my EOS RP it was not only a "teleconverter" via software for my 75-300mm lens on 4k video, but it also acted as BETTER "photo burst" mode in 4k30 with faster shutter speed than 3-4 fps photo bursts did. Ofc this was just an alternative to the super slow burst rate and i ended up with a 4k30 video as well i could pull out not too bad 12MP stills. Sure enough there should be at least some usable uncropped modes for the full potential of the lens and to use the whole sensor or as much as possible, doesnt matter if we talk now about APS-C, MFT or FF, but especially when it comes to slowmo and wildlife i even PREFER additional crop or a "crop video mode" as i have with the EOS R7 for sharp 4k60 crop. I was not that much of a fan of 4k crop video on the RP but i had reasons to use it, but on the EOS R7 4k60 crop is just AWESOME. Not only the rolling shutter is negliable (as well on 1080p60 and regular 4k60) but my Sigma 150-600 isnt "only" a 240-960mm lens on APS-C, its a 430-1700mm effective focal length with the 1,8x video crop. Im in overall really with you, but the option for crop mode should be still existent, especially considering most cameras have anyways 26MP or more so a 4k crop mode on top of a good uncropped mode should be standard anyways
@@cameraconspiracies the non edited look that it gives has not been replicated by similarly priced cameras. that sensor is magical. i hope that you will continue to use it for your channels. i understand if i’m banned now.
0:58 The Pana 100-300 I or II are awfull lenses in comparison to the 75-300; which is already not very nice! I own both. Try to make a 100-300 FOCUS in the sky! It will never ever work! And this is on a GH6, a ver fast cam. I own the 100-300 now, because of IBIS / Dual IS for video - otherwise the 100-300 is a bad experience.
You sold the Leica 12mm f1.4????? That lens is so sweet, if I ever get ray-gunned by aliens from the planet Blatterbutt the mortician ain't going to be able to pry that lens out of my cold dead fingers as he is trying to shovel my radioactive remains into the lead coffin. Meanwhile I lay awake at night staring out the window at the planet Blatterbutt with apprehension, and dream of Panasonic launching a GX8 Mark 2, with PDAF. That would be the perfect vlogging camera.
No sir, you are not forgiven for your transgressions the worst of which is claiming Fuji has autofocus you can trust. You have clearly been swayed by their colour science....
How would sensor size not play a factor into the amount of data? It's 4 times the size. Free money? I'm not talking about bitrate. This is why medium format cameras are usually slower than smaller sensors.

No problem I very rarely take videos (the new term for home movies) I don’t even like watching TV.😂
why is it a rule that over exposure is not favored? Over exposure, the brightness is cool.
Now we're fat shaming rigs.
My rig isn't fat, it's big-boned, okay?
Speaking of big bones, your God-fearing Canadian mother is calling me again.
Canon made the BM look like poop.
my lens size is more important, long and thick, that's what she said anyway...
i’m sad that u would consider the bmcc as your worst purchase.
Best and worst lol.
@@cameraconspiracies the non edited look that it gives has not been replicated by similarly priced cameras. that sensor is magical. i hope that you will continue to use it for your channels. i understand if i’m banned now.
They also carry large, overstuffed bags, just like mailmen
I noticed ghosting effect in G9 II footage.
I don't return pakages, I keep the Photo printer i just got.
You could print a beautiful return label on that :)

The Pana 100-300 I or II are awfull lenses in comparison to the 75-300; which is already not very nice!
I own both. Try to make a 100-300 FOCUS in the sky! It will never ever work! And this is on a GH6, a ver fast cam.
I own the 100-300 now, because of IBIS / Dual IS for video - otherwise the 100-300 is a bad experience.
Is there a math matrix to calculate results (?) from the senor sizes X and lens quality (F stops) Y?
You sold the Leica 12mm f1.4????? That lens is so sweet, if I ever get ray-gunned by aliens from the planet Blatterbutt the mortician ain't going to be able to pry that lens out of my cold dead fingers as he is trying to shovel my radioactive remains into the lead coffin.
Meanwhile I lay awake at night staring out the window at the planet Blatterbutt with apprehension, and dream of Panasonic launching a GX8 Mark 2, with PDAF. That would be the perfect vlogging camera.
fuji x-s20 much sharper.
mice bright light in the back ground, migraine🌟inducing 🤔
Well I have got better results with a Sony a6400 and the 56mm sigma than any other lens on my a7iv including the GM’s. 🤔
Not watching. How asinine a proposition.
Canon sucks, plastic fantastic 😂.
No sir, you are not forgiven for your transgressions the worst of which is claiming Fuji has autofocus you can trust. You have clearly been swayed by their colour science....
it's not 4x less the data bro, it's 2x MORE. the size of the sensor is irrelevant to the data rate, lol.
leica has the 3d pop.
How would sensor size not play a factor into the amount of data? It's 4 times the size. Free money? I'm not talking about bitrate. This is why medium format cameras are usually slower than smaller sensors.
