I threw both the Sublime and the Journey today at the Storm Match Maker. I love both balls. I found both the Sublime and Journey very controllable balls.
I threw both the Sublime and the Journey at a Storm Match Maker the other day and thought the Subline hits harder and the Journey was smoother. I will be getting the Sublime next week. The journey reminds me of a Hustle but stronger. I thought it was much weaker than the Subline. I would like to see the sublime compared to the Summit Peak. When I thew the Summit Peak it came back from China.
I liked my journey but had to knock the shine off just a little with a 4000 pad, now I love this ball, it has replaced my Zen, which I've had and loved for years
Great video Luis and I bowl league THS and would I really need both balls and should I drill both same layouts if I get both and looking for that big pop downlane. Thanks
Idk bro, that journey looks a little earlier to me. Its a bit smoother off of the spot than the sublime which is a huge indication of where the ball is trying to pick up. I would leave some surface on the journey and keep the sublime high glossed with the same layout.
You definitely got that hitch in your back swing under control and you are keeping your hand more behind or inside the ball... Also your back swing is staying lower under your shoulder...
I love my Journey! Love the VEBO also. I haven't taken the polish off yet to see if I like them on the fresh. Have you tried the Journey or VEBO with 3000 or 4000?
Great video once again. Luis do u think the Sublime and VEBO are different enough to carry in a 3 ball arsenal? Current bag is Exotic, VEBO, Ruby. Thanks
@@LuisNapoles Not sure if u saw Luke Rosdahl video of him placing each SPI Bowling ball in categories? Final question was create a 3 ball arsenal from this list. He went with Summit, VEBO, n Ruby. I know he knows way more then me so that’s y i went with the Arsenal i have. What do u think should come After the VEBO? Thanks for replying.
Whatever you're working on, here are my thoughts. Your balance arm is not doing anything. My feeling is that the left hand should stay roughly waist level, and end up above the trail leg foot in the finish position. Your spine tilt is excessive (again, just my opinion; you've got to do what works best for you), and this leads to variable dwell time at the bottom of the swing, with the potential for inaccurate shots, and variable ball roll. And pitching the spine forward will make your trail leg come off the floor. That's usually not a good thing, since it also is usually associated with straightening of the slide leg knee (knee compression needs to be retained through the release). The best knee compression you had was the Sublime shot at 4:20 on the vid. Lastly, your follow-through position should preferably bring your forearm directly in line with your target eye, and the line from the elbow to the wrist should be vertical. Look at Darren Tang's follow-through, and you'll see all these things I'm talking about. Another one to check for excellent forearm position in the follow-through is Packy Hanrahan. Another example (my personal favorite for educational purposes) is Annalise O'Bryant from the Louisiana Tech women's bowling team. Her balance arm hand sometimes gets a bit high, but her spine angle is locked from setup to release, and her forearm follow-through is almost perfectly vertical. That said, I think your videos and analysis of balls are some of the best anywhere. Thanks for all your effort.
It depends on what your other balls are, what you want them to primarity do, etc. Infused would be good Magic Gem step down bc of the angles you can play with both of those balls, whereas the Sublime would probably be a good Reality/Eternity Pi stepdown because of how smooth they both are. I think the Vebo would be more inbetween than the Sublime and the Infused; a tad later than the Infused, but sharper than the Sublime. As for the Journey, tbh I would use that ball as a balldown from the Vebo. But, of course, these are my opinions based off what I've seen.
@ianhoneycutt3858 thanks for the reply... at the end of last season, I decided to start with new pieces, so I currently have a P2, Duo, Hustle M-M, Pitch Black. Looking for a ball up from the P2, like Magic or BW 2.0 Hybrid and a piece in between the Duo and Hustle.
@@CliftonDon74 Me personally I would take the Vebo as the Ball up from the Phaze 2. As for the in the middle slot, it depends on how early your Duo is. Everytime I threw the Duo, I would have to be so fat left because the cover was SOOOOO strong. If it's as early as I think it is, I would actually go Zen Gold Label with a slightly weaker layout to help it smooth off a bit, but still get it through the fronts. If the duo is longer tho... tbh I have no clue. Either a Night Road or a Revenant
@ianhoneycutt3858 thanks for the feedback. I keep the Duo shiny with just a little surface 3k pad, so it is clean through the front part of the lane. My high game with it is 277. I was considering the Night Road, but picked up a Hustle M-M. I rolled a game 3 289 with it a few weeks ago. Thanks again.
It looks like a more smooth release. You're getting under the ball at the bottom better with a smoother quicker release. Is that what you've been working on?
So what would you consider an acceptable amount of speed differential between throws? If 0.5mph is a big change, then I guess that would explain some over under problems I'm having.
The journey for me when i first Got it. For being a pearl symmetric it grabbed way too early. I had To take the ball to 4K to get it to go through the heads
@@ianhoneycutt3858I own both of them and I completely agree with your take . Absolute is more speed friendly , drop a bit with infused, and I’ve been punished hard .
Picked one up lil more than a week ago, sure do enjoy the response and shape compared to my other balls. It's drilled pretty aggressive but feels like a good compliment to my other balls. (Tour IQ, Absolute, and a Mix for spare ball) 244 is my best game on it so pretty happy thus far
Just my opinion here. I think it's prob the best ball we have come out with this year BUT with the release date being 16 days before the end of the year I can't justify labeling it BOTY for me!
I like your videos most if the time. But making a video about which ball is better makes no sense lol. Everyone throws differently. Some rev dominate, some speed etc... what a journey will do for me isn't gonna be what it does for you etc... I know we need content for vids but....

I believe i see your backswing being lower and without all the crazy hand movement at the top. Possibly better balance arm placement and it looks like may you are getting through your release cleaner. Keep up he good work. 💪🎳
Your vids are the most informative for ball comparisons thank you Louis for another great vid
I appreciate that!
Both of these look awesome. I was planing on buying a Journey but now I'm swaying towards the Sublime. 🤔
cant decide either
Welp you can always get both if you save up lmao
Cant go wrong with either go them !

You have transformed your shot and your form so much. That's not easy to do. Congratulations, man.

Bowled a 210, 243, and 190 out of the box with the 900 Global Sublime; I LOVE THIS BALL!!!!

Great video Luis! What grips are in your finger holes? I have only seen the ones that come with the partial bottom. Kind of like finger tip grips
Just regular ovals
Timing, ball roll, and posting of the shot looking on point.

It could be the difference between a flush strike and a 4 pin/6 pin
