“Maybe I’m Amazed” was first released on his 1970 debut solo album “McCartney”. Not live but from Paul’s home studio. Playing ALL the instruments, magnificently.

when he was first forming wings he had the members over for dinner (as told by one of the band members), when after the meal he suddenly says "oh shoot ,i forgot i need to write a song for a movie by tomorrow, ill be right back" they could hear him tinkering on the piano. 5 min later he comes back "all done" the song was 'live and let die' for the james bond film!

The studio version from the album, Paul played all of the instruments. He actually recorded it before the Beatles broke up, but he used the opportunity of the press release for that album to announce that he was leaving the Beatles. John said he was leaving first privately, but never made the official announcement. Paul made it official.

    • @Bobrush9
      @Bobrush9 11 месяцев назад +4

Yes, Paul announced the breakup publicly so he was blamed for the breakup. In actuality, he wanted the Beatles to continue and perhaps perform live again. By 1969,1970, PA system technology had advanced significantly. So, screaming fans would not have drowned out the band. George had no interest in ever performing live as a Beatle. John wanted to do projects with Yoko rather than the Beatles. I think Ringo would’ve gone along with whatever the others wanted to do. Paul actually went into a depression due to the demise of the Beatles.

The reason Sir Paul & other stars with long careers are still kicking, is because they change with the times. You can tell when these songs were made, throughout his career. I was 10 & sitting on the living room floor when the Beatle's made their US debut on the Ed Sullivan. They were HUGE & remained so as their music evolved with the times, until they outgrew one another. They all had something to say & needed their own platforms to do it. And as sad I was when the Beatles broke up, we still got some great music from John & George before they passed & Paul is still touring. Plans to tour Australia & Brazil In October, November & December & the man is 81! Amazeballs!

How nice to see them for the first time with Paul McCartney's songs in his post-Beatles era
    "Maybe I'm amazed" (1970)
It is a beautiful song from Paul McCartney's first album, precisely called "McCartney"
It was released in April 1970, a week before the release of "Let It Be", The Beatles' last album.
Within the album it had a self-report,
in which Paul announced the reasons for the separation of The Beatles,
which was news with worldwide impact at the beginning of the new decade.
In reality, Paul was the last of The Beatles to start a solo career,
since his three companions had already done individual work without having separated from The Beatles.
    I return to the song
    Paul's voice is fascinating,
he sings with all the passion his love for Linda, to whom he dedicates this song,
because in this difficult moment of the separation of The Beatles
it was precisely Linda who was his great emotional and emotional support.
and "Maybe I'm amazed" live, here on the 1976 tour,
is much better even than in his studio recording,
more intimate and almost minimalist, in which he played all the instruments.
Here you see Paul in full success with his new band Wings, and very happy
THE BEATLES have been the group that marked me as a teenager
(I am currently 65 years old)
and Paul McCartney has been my favorite in his career as a soloist.
It has many wonderful songs, of all musical genres.
    my favorites of his are
"Live and let die" (live is amazing)
"My love" (another ballad dedicated to Linda)
"Band on the run" (a masterpiece)
"Venus and Mars / Rock Show" (the start of their 1976 Tour)
"Silly love songs" (a song that came out in response to an irony by John Lennon)
"Mull of Kintyre" (their first #1 in the UK, and at the same time the best-selling song in the UK in the entire 70s)
and I add "My brave face"; "Hope of delivery" "Pipes of peace"
Paul McCartney's musical catalog is majestic
I hope to see you more often with reactions to Paul McCartney & Wings,
and don't forget my other favorites, the Swedish quartet ABBA
(I would like them to make a reaction to their live performance at Eurovision 1974,
when they won with the iconic "Waterloo",
since next year it will be 50th anniversary
and Eurovision will probably take advantage of the fact that the contest is in Sweden
and make a deserved tribute to ABBA)
I wish you a great week
    my best regards from
    Buenos Aires, Argentina
    South America

This performance was from the WINGS OVER AMERICA TOUR, 1976.
April 1976, Easter, I’m an eleven year old beginning drummer and huge Beatles fan. My parents buy me the new Wings album, “Wings At The Speed of Sound” for Easter, too old for Easter baskets. But this album is special, it’s not just Macca who captures my imagination but drummer Joe English.
Skip ahead a month. As an early 12th birthday present, my beloved parents gift me with my first concert tickets to see Paul McCartney & Wings, “WINGS OVER AMERICA TOUR” at the Capital Center in Landover, Md. Saturday, May 15,1976.
My dad gets off work the evening of Friday the 14th. He drives me and my mom 350 miles that night to my aunt’s house. The next day we go to the arena several hours before the show, so that I may get to meet a member of WINGS, hopefully Joe English. Inside the arena, since I’m small and skinny, my dad holds me up on his shoulders for the entire concert so I don’t miss a second of seeing my early drum idol and a Beatle. I still have the ticket, WINGS “W” t-shirt and program from that show.
The greatest show ever and the greatest parents ever.
Interesting side note, drummer Joe English, now 74, lives just 200 miles away from me, now 59, here in North Carolina.

As it has been noted, Paul played all the instruments on this album. Linda(provided only backing vocals) was not really involved in the music, yet. If I recall, this song is about her ability to stick by him and help with his transition from the break-up to his solo career. I can remember riding my bike to the store and waiting for it to open so I could buy the album that this song (which was just released on the radio) was on. Good times! AND, it's Wings, not the Wings! ;)

Awesome reaction guys... It's a love song for sure... Paul is super talented... like John, George and Ringo... no wonder they were such a power house group... Yes, Paul went into a deep depression after the break up of the Beatles... I guess it would have been like a death to him and he needed to go through the grieving process... Linda was there 100% of the way for him.... Thanks for doing this one.. Yep, do Band on the Run when you get a chance.... 🙂

💯. And also, in terms of The Beatles, Why Don't We Do It It in the Road? and Oh Darling, and if you really want to hear him wail, check out their early single Long Tall Sally. His voice is just so strong and clear but he still brings the rasp when he wants it. It's so good.
This had become their closer when they played at that nightclub in Hamburg Germany where they got really really tight. The owner tried to include it in his contract that they could not play it because people would go nuts and tear stuff up. But they always ended up playing it anyway, laugh, and there wasn't much the guy could do about it because they were bringing in so many crowds and so much revenue. I think he even tried to nail the barstools into the wooden floor at one point!

Congratulations for using a live version. Good choice, as they were usually superior to the studio. The lead guitarist started out as a 17 year old protege of Pete Townshend, in a classic one off album ~ Thunderclap Newman - Hollywood Dream. Here he is somewhere around 23-24 years old and playing with an ex-Beatle.

This is a live cut from the Wings Over America Rockshow DVD - 1976. So, there is 1) the studio cut from his album (McCartney -1970) then there is 2) this live cut from Rockshow DVD within the limited edition box set of Wings Over America and then 3) there is the live cut from the live album Wings Over America that most people have heard. From 1976 until recently, there was only one live cut of this, but now they released Rockshow which has this live cut from a different night of the Wings Over America tour. I like version 3 the best, but the one they reacted to (#2) is very good and they have it on video. Love the channel!

The guy that you said looked so young was "Jimmy McCulloch".
On September 27th, 1979, McCulloch was found dead by his brother in his flat in Maida Vale, London. He was blue from exposure. An autopsy found that McCulloch died of heart failure due to morphine and alcohol poisoning. He was 26 years old.
The concert film Rockshow, from Wings' 1976 North American tour, was released in late 1980, more than a year after McCulloch's death.
“He was always a little dangerous,” Paul McCartney said of the fresh-faced, hard-living guitarist. “In the end, he was just too dangerous for his own good.”

The Beatles were still under 30 when they broke up. Paul McCartney is a master of melody, something that seems to be lacking in most of today’s songs, based on what I have heard. All of the Beatles were amazing.
