You have to understand that "accent" comes from the sounds available in your native language. Any language doesn't have all the sounds, so sounds available in a foreign language shifts you to closest sound available in your native language. English does not have a single accent but it has Russian, Spanish, french, german, slovak, hungarian, british, amarican, australian and way many more accents. Indian accent is as valid as any other accents. Any person making a fun of accent is ignorant, and not worth having a conversation with. They cannot have a proper accent when speaking Hindi or any foreign accent. You have to learn to defend yourself, teach them and learn arguments, rather than learning a foreign accent that is not natural to you. Your accent is also your identity. Be proud of it, not get shame out of it. You can definitely learn if you love doing it, but not to impress or please anyone. You have to be yourself and live your life on your own terms.

Bro, being cool is about being unapologetic and proud of where you come from no matter what anyone thinks.
If you heed importance to opinions of Omegle audience and then make life choices according to it.
    Good luck 😅
The other comment reminds me of a conversation by Balaji Srinivasan with y Combinator guys , how India will be the media capital of world by 2032, what will you do then ?
Be proud of yourself man and stop trying fitting in.

I’m usually don’t comment on videos, but felt like sharing my thoughts just 1 minute into your video.
I came to Canada more than 7 years ago from India as a 17-year old. I tried my best to fit in i.e. lose my Indian accent, and sound like a Canadian. In fact, many said that I sounded just like someone who grew up in Canada, which made me feel accomplished/validated. However after a few years, I started feeling that I was faking it and ultimately no one cared how I sounded as long as I could clearly express my thoughts.
So my 2 cents, it’s great to work on your spoken english/communication skills by putting yourself out there. But you don’t have to hide yourself in that process, since overtime, you will get tired of it

Your accent isn’t broken to be fixed. There is no single english accent, the whole world speaks english in their own way, nothing to be ashamed or be proud of, it’s just an accent.

    hey, a random indian here.
just a piece of advice, stop taking someone else's opinion to your heart. I have interacted with people from abroad all the time and all smart people understand indian accent and no one bothers about any accent, infact indian accent is too common because most american companies have like 20% of their employees in india.
on the other hand, people who have nothing to do and have too much free time, do stuff like making fun of accents, to bring themselves up because in real life they have achieved nothing. you cannot take people form omegle seriously, they have wayyyyy too much free time bro.
stop wasting precious time in these activities, skills give you respect and not accents, infact if you are trying to fit in. it will harm your self respect too.
will you start smoking just because someone is making fun of you ???? once you make a habit of fitting in, you'll try to fit in everywhere.
what if indians start doing good in global media after some years and indian accent is considered "hip" like it's in tech world ? will you again change it back ?
    think about it.

I haven't seen your previous work, but I think you're trying to change-probably to avoid facing racism. I get it. The best advice I can give you is to avoid adopting ANOTHER region's accent. Instead, focus on speaking slowly and enunciating your words clearly; it will help a lot. Just try that for day 5.
I do partially agree with other people's comments here about not HAVING to change the accent, but its logically beneficial to do so; having that accent in this decade could be disadvantageous with respect to the growing racism online towards south asians.

Your motivation to improve is commendable . . .but please don't take decisions based on Omegle audience. You don't need to fix your accent. Trust me. Accent will never be an issue in a professional setting.
I'm a freelancer from India and I have interacted with people from Serbia, Sri Lanka, USA, Australia, and never have I received any complaints about my accent. Never ever. We get accent because English is not native to us. Similarly if you ask any foreigner to speak in Hindi or Punjabi or Urdu they'll have an accent too. So let those Omegle audience go to hell. Improve because you wanna improve. Improve because it helps you in some way not because some random person on Omegle taunted you about your accent.
