- Todays video is brought to you by Andrew Almond of Bolt Motorcycles London.
After loving the power and thunderous rumble of the Buell X1's Harley-Davidson engine, but not so much it's looks, Andrew enlisted Jake Robbins of Vintage Engineering in Hastings. The idea was simple, strip away the plastic and replace with hand beaten aluminium, harking back to the cafe racer era which is much more Andrew's style!
Custom bikes in the city.
Passing each other briefly.
Mutual respect.

My 50+ years of riding found me on my favorite bike, a Buell White Lightning! Eric Buell loved motorcycles and the bikes he built really showed his talent! You had to ride one to truly understand! Nice ride Andrew, thanks for sharing!
The first time I saw a Buell S1, I knew that I just had to have one. So, I went and took out a loan and bought one brand new. I have it to this day.
How can you not like this? The fairings are handbuilt and made to look handbuilt too. It´s a super cool bike.
Amazing metalwork. The badge is to die for. 👌
Stunning bike always liked the buels as a kid .. as near 40 yr old still never owned a bike hopefully beft the years out I'll have made my first steps yo owning one
Two distinct sounds at once!
Yes, please....Buell is still one of my favorite brands. Well done from the US.
Beautiful Work!
Function and form. Very cool.
I love it 👍🏽
Damn I wonder what year this is, probably an early 2000s or late 90s but it has the beauty of all those 50s bikes
It looks like a pocket bike next to Andrew! :)
Epic
What a cool fucking bike
I don't know which is cooler ..the bike, or the rider.. awesome bike bro. Also they made the Ronin 47 motorcycles from Buell bikes
I suggest He ride a Buell s3t. Already built for hiway, ride all day rides. I Love My Buell's!! All 5 of them. So much performance, for so little money.
tim tripp, I ride a '98 ST3 Buell and yes, it rides great out on the open road... but it hates 25mph speed limits in town and stop and go traffic will leave you with a left arm like Popeye and a well-roasted right calf.
I still love riding the nasty lumpy beast!
Nice cafe racer there Dan Bilzerian
pretty cool bike, i'd like to build one like that, i'd just like to add mirrors to mine
i was here before 1k sub and will be there when you have 1M sub cause i know you will get there eventually....i just love bikes so much..love from nepal
It's very Special
question : How to you seal an aluminum tank?
Sorry dude the lines of this bike are seriously screwed up. Just look at the relationship between the fairing, tank and seat. Nothing lines up!
Maybe its built to ride and not to look at?
I love how it looks, however I fully agree with your statement.
I've met a lot of women who's lines didn't line up but they were beautiful due to sex appeal. This bike is awesome.
It's cobby, which is not a bad thing...
I like the raw rat bike/mad max style builds. It doesn't have to be streamline. Just unique. All those embossed areas around the lights and the quality of the metal work with those shapes is extremely well done. None of that it remotely easy
Ride 1k miles on that seat?
Looks like steal rocket
Tank looks like a Xenomorph head
Looks like a ''future bike'' from the 50's but it looks kinda half assed.
it works for me . . . R
I had this machine from lightning inside my sportster...and it was not that fast.....so I do not know what you talk about.....it got barely over 140 kmh/h
Why does everyone that works here have café racers?
To run a few bikes off from Bike Shed staff members - Stew rides a BMW GS, James an XSR700, Dan a Triumph Bonneville, Vikki a Honda Dominator and a Ducati Sport Classic, Clare a Harley-Davidson Sporster... we ride everything, and welcome all types of bikes!
A lot of the people they showcase these days aren't workers at the 'shed, but regulars and builders from around the country. You can't deny the size of the cafe racer revival, which goes a bit to explain why cafe racer styling is so common in a lot of their videos, however only this past week they had a video of a super-vintage 1920s style aeroplane engine'd motorcycle. They've had chopper style motorbikes featured, flat trackers, scramblers, and more. You're missing a lot if you narrow it down to just cafe racers.
A thousand miles in Europe on a Buell LUL
Sooo basically you didn't build this bike at all
It's "Regular's Rides", not "Regular's Builds". ... Builders are featured as builders. ;)
🙆🤷
Awful
Great engine, but what a really ugly bike. The X1 is a classic. Why change it?
It is all about what makes your bike fit for you and what makes you smile when you look at it and smile when you ride the rims off it!
That's the beauty of custom scene, you build according to "your" personal taste. I for one like it. Gives that new Thruxton R cafe vibe, but without the ugly Triumph radiator.
Plastic.
