fun fact: Howard Heller, a former schoolmate of mine at Manhattan School of Music, got hired back in the late 70s to direct the camera cueing for NY Philharmonic televised concerts. Until then, cameras showed mostly the whole orchestra and closeups of the conductor---very few closeups of musicians. Howard Heller marked up the scores so that they knew where to zoom in on individuals or sections and concerts got WAY more interesting to watch! Pretty sure this one was one of those performances. Now they all do it, thank goodness!
Thanks for the story. Score readers are very important to TV concert broadcasts and usually sit next to the TV director in the control room for the broadcast.
absolument génial une force une énergie une interprétation incisive à souhait !!! quant aux solistes cor clarinettes cuivres violon ils ont avalé du lion!!! merci à ce fabuleux orchestre et à Zubin au top de sa forme
