I don't know about this gentleman Shankaracharya ,but I have to say this man had change the way I always think about Hindus may good bless him the work he is doing to bring Hindus and Muslims together and spreading good words of Holy Quran.

I wish somebody would take the time to reflect why an idol worshiper bows before a painted rock, knowing full well intellectually that the Creator of the worlds in not the rock. I salute all people who have respect each other. The question or fight is not about any religion. It is about humanity and about love and respect towards each others views, but not criticizing. To love and show universal brotherhood is true religion. That is what all religion speaks.
But explain to me why one should reject the Rig Veda, if it accurately predicted the Prophet ? Are you saying it is wrong ? and if it is wrong how can you quote the Rig Veda as being true about its predictions ?
I thought Sanatan meant perpetual and eternal. Dharma cannot be translated accurately in English. And what do you mean by "true" Sanatan Dharma ? For example if a scripture predicts a certain event, then it HAS TO BE TRUE, doesn't it ?
I have never seen such a genuine positive impression about Islam from a non-Muslim public figure. You can feel his passion and its not a written speech to create media hype but real reflection of an understanding.
If the followers were intelligent and logical then why would the mention of the Vedas bother them ? That would be one more proof. And what was the greater cirteria used by his followers ?
I hope that all Hindu/Muslim/Christians (all human being) live in peace...Everyone has differences..even within a family we have difference..but it should not result in insulting other religion...I hope Pope (Ratzinger) will learn the lesson from learned Shankaracharya

I have just gone through a clip of our well wisher who is hindu. Even in our daily life we humans see things in different ways but we some times have no difference in truth, reality and logic of the same thing on which we have different point of view. Different religions look things differently and practise the will of God and admit him ONE and only but worship him in different ways and submit in one voice that humanity should not be compromised in name of religious beliefs which provoke hatred.

'Will you follow a book that is thousands of years old with no guarantee as to whether it has been tampered or not... or will you follow a book which is 1400 years old and is is exactly the way as it was revealed?"

Anything in vedas that conforms with The Quran is the truth and that which does not has been added by man. The irrefutable fact that The Quran is the word of God Almighty and it is the last & final message from God Almighty to the humans puts onus upon all humans to do their individual research to find The Truth and follow the revised and permanent instructions from the Creator & Sustainer of the universes for how to live this life.

I believe the reference about "musalman" is in the Puranas, which are not the Vedas. Vedas are separate scriptures.

Also wondering. When Prophet Mohammad preached, did he tell his fellow beings they should follow him BECAUSE HE WAS MENTIONED IN THE RIG VEDA ?
