My Uncle started working at Archie comics in the 70s when he was 18, and he still works there today! He started out as an intern and is now editor in chief, if you look on the very bottom of the start of the comics then you will see his name ‘Victor Gorlick’ and he gives me Archie comics all the time and it’s so great
I still love the old-fashioned-like-drawing of archie. It's like a history in there and kind of unique for me. Even though I'm not yet born on those years. I LOVE THE COMICS ARCHIE FOREVER
My first exposure to Archie was a tv show called Archie's Weird Mysteries. A show that has strange things happening to Riverdale, from Veronica growing 50 feet tall to a robot football player to Vinny using a time machine. So hearing that people wanted to keep Archie the same made me scratch my head. I only got into it because the show was different.
It currently is on Qubo, but it airs in the early morning hours of 1:00am CST Mon-Fri (or Tue- Sat depending on how you look at it) I loved that it starred Andrew Rannells, who now is better known for doing BOM.
I remember my first Archie book. It was my great grandmother's house, and she has a copy of an Archie Double Digest, and I believe it was from the early 1990's. I also later found three large Archie comics, probably from the 70's. Archie is one of those books that will always have a special place in my heart, no matter what happens to the characters or stories.
the 1990's comics were quite experimental too as they featured quite a lot of characters like Krystal and Brigitte Reilly who only appeared in a few issues because they didn't gel with the public.
My mother was a big Archie fan. She passed away in May, and 2 days ago at the supermarket I stopped to look at the Archie comic collections and remember how she loved to receive a new copy. I should buy a copy myself to honor those memories.
I remember an issue where Archie got lost in the snow with an injured ankle, and was confronted by a starving, elderly wolf. He was eventually rescued and the wolf taken to a zoo. The ending line was; "Archie swears that the last time he visited her, she wagged her tail." I think this was in the 1980's, though I can't be sure
I think Jeff’s Gotham comparison holds up especially with how both shows worked hard towards the end to be more reminiscent of the source material and just overall better shows
Fun Fact: There was this Punk Band in the early 90s called "Jughead's Revenge" but disbanded after Archie Comics sent them a Cease and Desit Letter. They're back now, but they are now known as "Jugg's Revenge"

I totally agree. I don't want to get videos everyday if they happen to be shit. I actually saw a comment like this in the comments sections of DC Rebirth where they were discussing how the button crossover was okay being 4 parts instead of 7.
In the 1980s comic "Ninja High School" the author, Ben Dunn, was a fan of Archie comics. He put some characters in a one off issue from a neighboring town that were inspired by the Archie gang. Even though it would be covered as parody, Ben asked Archie comics for their OK. Archie comics said hell no & told him to change things more. It was such a bad experience that Ben got a kind of revenge in a later comic. There was a special 'Public Service Announcement' Ninja High School comic about STDs. In it a character had got a VD "From some girl named Veronica" from that nearby town. heh heh heh
Growing up as an adolescent, before manga/anime, Archie was the only comics to deal with adolescent & teenage concerns like dating or school life. I can't relate to being bitten by a radioactive spider or being an alien w/superpowers. I can relate to, being afraid to ask a girl I like on a date or to go steady. Not being invited to the party, everyone else is going to. Not having a date for prom. Or just trying to get enough money to take a girl out for a nice date.
I cannot scientifically be early, since the video is on the Internet and is meant to be viewed at any point in time as long as it's on RUclips, I can only be 'on time', So I'm just gonna compliment Scott on the (usual) great quality of the video instead... I really liked the video! I waited for this for a long time! Nice to see that it's finally out!
I myself having been an Archie fan for nearly all of my 41 years, I love Riverdale. Yes, it's a huge step away from the comics, but there are a lot of nods to the comics, and it's entertaining enough to have kept me watching. I respect Geoff's opinion, though, and it's always nice to know there are still some Archie fans other than me out there. Great video, Scott and company!
I'm first, but this video is currently unlisted, so I'd consider it unfair to label myself 'first'. Instead, I'm just gonna compliment Scott on this great video. Great video, Scott! Have been waiting for this soooo long!!

Came here from Mother's Basement for the info on Archie comics (having never read one or seen a single episode of Riverdale in my LIFE) and stayed for the production value. Seriously man, this is good stuff. You've got a sub out of me =)
Gonna preemptively point out things that aren’t mentioned in the video that people will most likely yell about: • Archie/Punisher crossover • Jughead’s sexuality • Josie and the Pussycats movie Sorry 😕
NerdSync literally was going to mention the Punisher crossover. Literally my introduction to the Punisher. If you ever read the digests they show the diversity of Archie over the decades (they often included older stories as well) and they had some progressive ideas. At least little kid me felt that way.
Archie Meets The Punisher (or The Punisher Meets Archie, depending on which cover you pick; hell, grab both), is a must read if you have any appreciation of either set of characters.
This video is fantastic! I love these type of history videos, especially the way that you cover all this without bogging down the video. It was 18 minutes but I could watch this for much longer.
I watched the first season of Riverdale, came across it by accident on Netfix and after a few episodes realized it's Archie link. It had been decades since I had picked up a comic so it took me a while to connect the dots. The show comes across as a modern drama with dark elements such as murder, incest, drugs, infidelity not to mention the whole Archie/teacher affair, whereas the comics I read in the 90s were comedic and bubbly with an innocent vibe, the worst thing that would happen was one of the girls losing a date with Archie to the other girl.
The new Archie reboot was actually the first comic I ever kept up with. It was a pretty new feeling to buy a comic straight from the stands but hey, I just really liked all the characters and before I knew it, I was a fan! So I was really disappointed by how the butchered the characters in Riverdale. I had only been been reading the comics for a year and a half but that show was just so messed up and so shamelessly "not Archie" that I gave up on it. And it's too bad, I have no doubt that if they actually crafted a good show that kept to the spirit for the characters and the world it would have been fantastic! And now Riverdale's dumb murders and mysteries are starting to leak into the comics as the new writer (Nick Spencer) has very clearly stated that he loves Riverdale and is using it as inspiration. But still, those first 32 issues by Mark Waid and Ian Flynn are simply fantastic! I would highly recommend them to anyone who likes Archie or just want an introduction to the characters to see what they are all about!
Used to love reading Archie when i was in junior high - i grew up in a very small, rural town and it was pretty much one of the only comics you could find (no X-Men for me back then - sigh)! I recently picked up "Archie meets the Ramones" where Sabrina magically teleports the gang back through time to learn how to play punk rock - definitely a fun read :) Love your videos as always - keep them coming!
Your Jughead video was really my first contact with Archie comics and I have to thank you for that. It made me check out the show and while it is by no means perfect, I do enjoy it.
An Archie pilot was produced in 1964. Not much in the way of big names of the time, but William Schallert (The Patty Duke Show as Patty's "Poppo") was cast as Fred Andrews (Archie's dad), Mary Grace Canfield (best known as Ralph Monroe from Green Acres) as Miss Grundy, and Cheryl Holdridge (from the original Mickey Mouse Club) as Betty Cooper. It was fairly faithful to the source material.
DeCarlo deserves more mention as a artist who did a lot more work in other magazines before getting tapped for Archie. You might, with a good Google drive, find not only his panels from men's girlie mags, but some custom sketches of Betty and Veronica in more racier situations.
I was linked here from Mother's Basement. This video was great and I am definitely subbing. Can you make a video discussing how the relationship between Archie Comics and the Comics Code Authority?
I've never watched Dawson's Creek but I would compare Riverdale to PLL except Riverdale isn't aimed towards teenage girls who only care about character relationships lol
Steve have you seen pll it's not just about relationships it's about cyber bullying and about being yourself just like with Emily and all of her girlfriends
Erica Harris I've watched PLL. I watched 5 of the 7 seasons. It is about cyber bullying but these days the writers cater to the teenage female viewers who only care about relationships and shipping.
Man the editing of this video is just beautiful.....the time you you put into this video is palpable and the amount I learnt about this comic is unreal!!!!! I only ever watched the cartoons that I genuinely enjoyed as a kid, this has actually made me want to look into the series for real!!!!! INSTANT SUB!!!!!!!!
This is fantastic. The best Archistory ever. More to share but I'm not feeling well right now but not as bad as before watching you tell the tale and turn the pages of this colorful comic book video. Thank You!
I used to read, not comic books, but the funny pages, dailies and Sundays in color. That was my intro to Archie in the '60s. I just watched the "To Riverdale and Back" movie on RUclips, and loved it. So wish it was on DVD. Anyway, thanx for the info. Many of us old folks like the fact that somewhere there is an American small town where you can stay a teenager for a few decades.
My first exsposer to archie was when i was in my grandparents house as a kid for summer vacation and they had sm archies. I took all of em. My parents bought me more. And i watched archies weird mysteries. I loved betty and Veronica. Im 17 and im still absolutely obsessed
A couple of observations and opinions about Archie. 1) Much of their continued success comes from the fact that they still sell comics in places like grocery stores, 2) The reason they can experiment like they have with stuff like Riverdale, Afterlife with Archie and Jughead's Time Police (anyone else remember that one from the '90s?) is because of how they tend to stay the same. I mean, it's surprising when they do a story that's so outside what they're known for. However, since they spent so much time unchanged over the years, it really wouldn't be a big deal if they just went back to their standard way of doing things if experimentation didn't pay off. No one would really blame them or be surprised.
I gotta say, I've been reading Archie my whole life, and I love Riverdale. I don't see how people can say that it doesn't feel like Archie. If Archie works as a Horror story, it works as a Zombie story, a Marvel story, etc, how can you say it doesn't work as dark moody teenage tv drama just because you don't like that genre (which I don't tend to, but Riverdale is the exception)? That's one of the best parts about Archie, the characters work in any type of story/situations! Riverdale is a great take on the story of Archie, and if a moody dark teenage drama is what it takes to bring Archie back into the eyes of pop culture consuming youths, so be it! I love Archie and Riverdale!
Flint right on! I think ppl confuse it being "modernized and dark" with it being cynical, when it's actually very sincere and not pessimistic at all! It's about the struggle of maintaining innocence in a cynical world. That's what jughead represents, that's why he's obsessed with nostalgia.
Flint Its not about the situation itself, more along the lines of how you handle the characters. They've really slandered what the characters are, and to be honest, I would compare Archie's portayal to Superman's in the recent movies. Nice try, but you've missed a huge spot, you know what I mean? Decent show, horrible representation of characters. Literally, the only problem is the characters.
Ry Foster i really disagree. All the characters still feel true to the source material, but in a different world with different rules so they act a bit different because they're encountering different issues. The only real major sin is what they did with Ms. Grundie as far as im concerned.
I'm also not a fan of Jughead dating Betty, but as long as it ends up in disaster and with Jughead being the romantic loner we know him to be, I think its fine.
ugh god i've been obsessing over archie lately bc i love old things??? old things from the golden days that STILL hold up in modern times are always pretty good. the original comics are a good read for when you're passing time on the bus.
The only Archie stuff I saw growing up was a short lived TV show called "Archie's Weird Mysteries." Fascinating to hear how this evolved! Also, it really sounds like Nancy was a Karen.
The old Dan DeCarlo Archie's are brilliant. They may not have the greatest stories but DeCarlo's art on the series is something truly wonderful to behold. Likewise his Josie And The Pussycats work. If you like cosy, vernacular character designs and sexy-as-hell inks, DeCarlo's your man. Fantagraphics put out a collection of his slightly risque gag strips...some of his women look like Betty and Veronica all grown up. Just sayin'.... EDIT: Also, respect for mentioning Harry Lucey! Probably DeCarlo's equal in terms of cartooning chops. As I said, those old comics may be kind of "air-headed" but they're very pretty to look at. Oh and if you feel like trawling the back issue bins then you could do a lot worse than find some of DeCarlo (and Stan Lee's!) old Millie The Model comics. Recommended for any students of the medium, lovely work eschewing flash and dazzle; it's "merely" classic storytelling cartooning of the type which never *really* gets old, those comics still contain precious nuggets of comicking knowledge, for the initiated and uninitiated alike.
Imho Dan Decarlo was Archie Comics. The actual location of the town of Riverdale was always unclear on purpose, but Dan's rendering was what we only had to go on, and he had to have used some kind of in-real-life references, so one has to wonder how he came to visually conceptualize Riverdale.
@@21stCenturySpaceOdyssey Wow, I forgot I left this comment. I think all great cartoonists assimilate real-life references in some way. It's seems to me that you're actually not talking about actual photo-referencing, right? Or maybe you are! The best cartoonists are the ones who make any such referencing un-noticeable (Toth was amazing at this, for instance. Likewise Joe Kubert) because their style is just so over-arching that it kind of subsumes any photographic materials used in the creation of their comics. I have no idea if DeCarlo used photo reference for his iconic Archie stuff but if he did then I would never have guessed! Which is not to say that his architecture and spaces lack "believability". They absolute are real and concrete (pun unintended). I think he was just a massive talent. Ultimately it doesn't matter to me (if he used any photographic materials) very much but I would be very, very interested to find out!
The first time I discovered Archie, I was 11, at a family friend’s house, in the bathroom, when I saw a magazine holder, and found an Archie comic. It was in French however, but I still read it, and fell in love.
Yooo, this was super interesting, I was of the mindset that Archie comics were outdated kids stories and i'd never even so much as batted an eyelid at them (so much so that I had no idea there was a 2015 reboot?!). It's cool to know their history and the direction they're going in now! I genuinely may have never know if it wasn't for this video, good looking out Scott!
Great overview. Thanks for the video. I was a part of that original demographic that saw the Archies in the 60's and liked the cartoons. I never knew they even had a pulse today. Fascinating story. I enjoy your presentation. I'm subscribing.
In other words, Archie comics sold out big time. As a comic writer myself who was inspired by archie comics i stopped reading them some years back because they were getting so cringey and dated. I get they are trying to "bring it into the current generation" but c'mon. I can read many archie stories from the 60s and 70s and laugh at their jokes still, their originality, the some what darker and more comedically violent jokes and stories, now, Archie is a shadow of its former self. A shallow pool of trying to hard to stay relevant, in return making archie stories banal and dated. I dont care if archie was getting stale, hire new writers, but why change every aspect of your characters to the point they are no longer themselves simply to desperately cling to current trends. If you wanted to make a soap, make a soap with new characters, introduce new characters and see how they go, build on them, dont permanently change EVERY aspect of your current characters simply to try and follow current trends. In 30 years alot of 1960s and 1970s archie classics will be still readable, timeless, simple, original and funny, where as this banal trash they are spewing out now (and yes im talking to you you sad excuse of a teen drama show to make archie "edgey") will be dated and mocked, go find some old archie stories where they went with trends, see how dated those are, current archie in 30 years will be unreadable dated trash, it will be to comics what vanilla ice's "ice ice baby" is to music. I even wrote a story of my own with my own characters flat out mocking the unrecognizable nature of archie comics now a days, and esspically the characters in cw's popular archie drama.. if selling out was an Olympic sport archie comics would take gold.
I had a box full of Archie comics as a kid that were all from the 60's. They were falling apart, had the heavy musk of mold, and I read the hell outta each one.
So now I understand where the season/storyline in riverdale with the comics and cartoons came in. Makes much more sense now. I literally didnt know this existed until my mom told me
I love Riverdale!! It's not like the comics but it doesn't have to. I like the comics reboot but I Jumped on because of Riverdale. It's different but in a good way.
ya if you like having a middle finger waving in your face. :) changing an icon is like giving like only seeing bruce wayne in a batman film going to therapy. riverdale and the high school are based on real world places. The high school, being Haverhill high school in haverhill mass. The show kinda have the inspiration the middle finger, as prior to all of this the town was gonna build an archie museum, to honor that. Kinda can't now since this shi.
Azura Moonstar it's not really a middle finger LOL. They said what the show would be like way before we got a trailer for it. The show's great imo. Don't like it? Stick to the comics, you'll be fine.
Riverdale doesn't feel like Archie comics to me much but to his credit it's a well-written show with some great acting and the pacing is good and it keeps you wanting to know what happens next. Take it for what it is teen drama with the characters named after Archie characters.
In 1994, a planned live-action Archie movie to be released by Universal Studios in 1995 was announced. In 1996, it was said that the script was being finalized and the film was scheduled for release in 1997. In 1997 it was still reported that Universal was developing the film's script.
A little Archie-related music trivia. "Sugar, Sugar" was the third single by The Archies, and only got the heavy radio airplay necessary to become a hit after it was re-released and played for disc jockeys who did not know (while hearing it for the first time) that it was from a "cartoon" group. Jingle-singer Ron Dante was the lead vocalist, backed by Toni Wine and Andy Kim, (On follow-up hit "Jingle Jangle", Dante sang the *female* lead in a falsetto voice.) "Sugar, Sugar" not only reached Number 1 on the Billboard magazine Hot 100, but was Number 1 on the magazine's year-end chart for 1969 -- biggest song of the year! Ron Dante later co-produced Barry Manilow's first nine albums.
You skipped over the Filmation TV shows too fast. They made more than just the 17 eps for the 68-69 season, there was Sabrina, the Groovie Goolies, Funhouse, US of Archie etc etc. This was huge back then. Didn't say it was all that great, but--that's the peak of the comic's run in the public eye I would imagine. I'm all for the reboots etc. Also wasn't Bob Montana a big deal here? You didn't say much on him either.
mowm88 Right I didn’t know the Archie cartoon had only 17 episodes it seemed like it ran forever, I guess that was because they did so many variations on it and I was a kid, so what’d I know?
I reallyyy liked that video!! Really informative, well-spoken and entertaining while being funny and witty. I like the editing and just how everything flow. I like the whole channel concept, the background and the cool fashion sense of the host! Very good video and work! I will definitely watch more👍😄
RE: The Archie animated TV cartoon - There were 17 original half-hour shows, but "The Archie Show aired Saturday mornings on CBS from September 1968 to August 1969, when it was replaced by an hour-long version, The Archie Comedy Hour. Filmation continued to produce further Archie television series until 1978."...Also, FYI - The cartoon series was where Hot Dog, Jughead's pooch, was introduced.
I like that "Origins of the Punisher Skull Logo" is a related video. Honestly, you guys should make a video about that Archie/Punisher crossover, it was surprisingly good.

My grandpa was Archie in the original 70's cartoon!!!
Dal McKennon?
Your grandpa was cool! Don't take any crap from people who hated that voice.
🙌🏾
That is awesome! :D
this being the internet. very doubtful.
Fun Fact: There was this Punk Band in the early 90s called "Jughead's Revenge" but disbanded after Archie Comics sent them a Cease and Desit Letter. They're back now, but they are now known as "Jugg's Revenge"
This is probably the best backstory I've heard about a comic book.
WHY!?!? Why did they not call themselves Gold and Silber? It's a great name.

How about Charleton?

Jason Preston Why not both, eh
Can we get an 'Afterlife with Archie' animated movie? I mean Scooby-Doo has a whole bunch of animated movies...
Markstubation01 right
Hellaven yes!
Wes Anderson should make Archie's big-screen version.
I met Jon Goldwater at a con and he was awesome! He was super chill, kindhearted and an all around great guy! He even signed my Dad and Uncle’s Archie comics (which we’d give to them as Christmas presents.) for no cost at all!
Thank you!! As a long-time Archie freek (since 1964) you made an excellent video and revealed some things I wasn't even aware of. Kudos to you!
please do not close this channel
I'm trying not to! That's why we have our Patreon!
Why dont you use "amazon turk" to cut the overhead of closed captions?
Believe me as someone who is almost deaf, I really appreciate your CC option. but people can transcribe your videos for a lot cheaper then you would expect.
just some ideas for you.
NerdSync you guys could get this app called tad it helps youtubers !
Archie wierd mystery was so good!

I always kind of wished Riverdale was more like Dan Harman's Community, but like, in highschool instead of community college.
That would be fantastic!!!
This post.
Archie publication got intense! They should make a movie about that.
Great video Scott! Loved it!
i don't think jughead is asexual i think he doesn't care about romance at all he only cares about food
he's a self appointed woman hater
Uh, that's what asexuality is. When you don't care about or desire sex.
Andrew .johnson lmao the only romance he ever has is hamburgers and not betty lol
Only one version of jughead in the very long history of the character has been asexual and that’s a pretty recent thing
Isn't that what asexuality is?
Gonna preemptively point out things that aren’t mentioned in the video that people will most likely yell about:

NerdSync I always assumed Jughead's sexuality was hungry.
Derek Barnett he is in the new comics asexual
Archie Meets The Punisher (or The Punisher Meets Archie, depending on which cover you pick; hell, grab both), is a must read if you have any appreciation of either set of characters.
NerdSync Jughead's sexuality?
This video is fantastic! I love these type of history videos, especially the way that you cover all this without bogging down the video. It was 18 minutes but I could watch this for much longer.
I watched the first season of Riverdale, came across it by accident on Netfix and after a few episodes realized it's Archie link. It had been decades since I had picked up a comic so it took me a while to connect the dots. The show comes across as a modern drama with dark elements such as murder, incest, drugs, infidelity not to mention the whole Archie/teacher affair, whereas the comics I read in the 90s were comedic and bubbly with an innocent vibe, the worst thing that would happen was one of the girls losing a date with Archie to the other girl.
anybody watch archie' s weird mysteries?
John Gray-Payne I think so, it looks vaguely familiar.
John Gray-Payne here
I watch it on Qubo, but I've always wondered why they only show 26 out of the 40 episodes made. I have the whole series on DVD.
HIGH FIVE!!! I BINGE WATCH THE LIVING OUT THE SHOW!!!
John Gray-Payne ME
The new Archie reboot was actually the first comic I ever kept up with.
I really really need an Archie TV show faithful to the source material.
they need a retro reboot - back to their roots
Used to love reading Archie when i was in junior high - i grew up in a very small, rural town and it was pretty much one of the only comics you could find (no X-Men for me back then - sigh)! I recently picked up "Archie meets the Ramones" where Sabrina magically teleports the gang back through time to learn how to play punk rock - definitely a fun read :) Love your videos as always - keep them coming!
you had me at "penis".
Fernando Davalos agreed.

Your Jughead video was really my first contact with Archie comics and I have to thank you for that. It made me check out the show and while it is by no means perfect, I do enjoy it.
I binge watched riverdale's 13 episodes yesterday and I love it! Also I own over 1000 Archie comics and have been collecting since I was 5.
Super Cyborg Man same! Except I watched Riverdale live lol
True, Filmation's first Archie Show only ran for 17 episodes. But they made five more Archie cartoon series over the next ten years (1968-78).
This was well-worth the wait! I never really got exposed to Archie but the history of the comics sound so weird and intriguing, great video, Scott!
I loved Archie's Weird Mysteries ! I have read some of the comics as well . River dale is ok but it's NOTHING like the comics.
The editing was amazing In this video! Great job Scott and friends!
Honestly from everything I've heard about the Riverdale show, it sounds more like a darker Dawson's Creek.
Dominique Harris It ended up being about evil twins and unhealthy relationships (Ezria and Emison).
Don't fool yourself. The only good thing about Dawsons Creek was Katie Holmes. Riverdale actually makes you think.
*I only started watching riverdale because of Cole*
hellolala didn't we all
Same
Started watching because of Cole... kept watching because it was really good 😂
literally the only reason I even knew about it to begin with
Same whatta dad
I have been looking forward to this for months! Thank you so much NerdSync; you're videos are some of my favorites on YT
Archie comics, they made check-out lines more bearable.
Going all out with the VFX on this one, aren't ya? Really helps to explain the material. Well done.
"Archie-types" actually made me laugh
This is fantastic. The best Archistory ever. More to share but I'm not feeling well right now but not as bad as before watching you tell the tale and turn the pages of this colorful comic book video. Thank You!
"Ooooh baby do ya know what that's worth? Ooooh heavens a place on Earth!"
Riverdale is so far from Archie comics it's upsetting
A C Riverdale IS based on Archie Comics
Leona Higgs In name only, more like.
Lauren Scott The comics aren't something that would do well as a show anyways.
Leona Higgs how?? Give an example that the riverdales show depicts from the archie comics
joshi lokks Jughead’s crown lol
Hey Scott. Great work! Love the quality of this video.
Flint
seeing you mention the mega man comic brings me a lot of joy. i hope you cover it one day, its totally a hidden gem!
I NEVER CLICKED SO FAST
And I love you for it!
NerdSync Thank you for the great video! Archie was the first comic book I read, thanks for feeding me with more information.
Thanks for watching!
ugh god i've been obsessing over archie lately bc i love old things??? old things from the golden days that STILL hold up in modern times are always pretty good. the original comics are a good read for when you're passing time on the bus.
Look for a copy of Bob Montana's original daily newspaper strips - they're very funny!
A truly amazingly crafted video. Have been looking forward to it for a long time. Good job Scott
My favorite fix of smart geeky content has returned :> Thanks Scott!!
Mauel Lacuna You're amazing
Huzzah!
so glad your back easily my most favorite channel
The only Archie stuff I saw growing up was a short lived TV show called "Archie's Weird Mysteries." Fascinating to hear how this evolved!
Also, it really sounds like Nancy was a Karen.
Y'all and The Mother's Basement doing a crossover is insane and I love this.
He certainly left a perfect template to build with.
Because you should probably watch the full _Sugar, Sugar_ hip hop remix. 👌 ruclips.net/video/XBojt6fDVvw/видео.html
I was just about to ask where I can find this! Thanks Scott!
Not really.
RIP Sam Whipple
Yooo, this was super interesting, I was of the mindset that Archie comics were outdated kids stories and i'd never even so much as batted an eyelid at them (so much so that I had no idea there was a 2015 reboot?!). It's cool to know their history and the direction they're going in now! I genuinely may have never know if it wasn't for this video, good looking out Scott!
You're back! :)
Yeah! We also posted a new video a few days ago, in case you missed that. ruclips.net/video/CmEP5vrlLgI/видео.html
Exactly. Trendiness equals immediate obsolescence.
david gold I agree with all of this tbh
Finally a video for everyone who wanted Nerdsync to cover something other than Marvel and DC.
He's back!
And so soon after the last video only two days ago!
I had a box full of Archie comics as a kid that were all from the 60's. They were falling apart, had the heavy musk of mold, and I read the hell outta each one.
It's Finally Here
About time!
Great video Scott; glad you're back on youtube.
I love your vids!!!
I love you!
So now I understand where the season/storyline in riverdale with the comics and cartoons came in. Makes much more sense now. I literally didnt know this existed until my mom told me
That An Online Podcast Reference!! Have been waiting for this video for a while, loved it!! Keep up the good work!
About 6 people will get the reference, but I'm glad at least someone did!
Finally, I've wanted to get my comment loved by Scott for "years?"
I truly appreciate that he says "Quote," reads the quote, and then says "Unquote." instead of "Quote unquote" followed by the quote.
Great video buddy
Thanks, Matt! I appreciate it!
The video is finally here. Worth the wait I know for sure! All your videos are a work of art! Great job!
Smiley face
I love Riverdale!! It's not like the comics but it doesn't have to. I like the comics reboot but I Jumped on because of Riverdale. It's different but in a good way.
Me to.👍
ya if you like having a middle finger waving in your face.
Bryan Carter ehhhhhh, you do you bub
Riverdale doesn't feel like Archie comics to me much but to his credit it's a well-written show with some great acting and the pacing is good and it keeps you wanting to know what happens next. Take it for what it is teen drama with the characters named after Archie characters.
In 1994, a planned live-action Archie movie to be released by Universal Studios in 1995 was announced. In 1996, it was said that the script was being finalized and the film was scheduled for release in 1997. In 1997 it was still reported that Universal was developing the film's script.
I'm super happy with how this video turned out! I wonder how many of the Easter eggs I threw in the wonderful nerds will find! ;)
Basically, there was enough episodes to syndicate weekdays for years.
It wasn't very one shot. It also led to a spin-off with Sabrina, the Teenage Witch also getting episodes as well.
I like that "Origins of the Punisher Skull Logo" is a related video. Honestly, you guys should make a video about that Archie/Punisher crossover, it was surprisingly good.
I like the older versions of Archie better.
The 60's version
My personal favorite is the 2015 reboot
Scott, your videos just get better and better. Keep up the good work!
Not an Archie fan but how could you not talk about Archie's Weird Mystery's?
Thank you. Archie Comics has always been my favorite since the 80s
finally
It has arrived!
