I love the Rangers faction, but never tried the Grey Company LL. I know the dice, scenario and opponent 😂, made it a difficult match up. But what does this army or heroes need to get the win?
Gimli, Aragorn and the Twins gotta do a lot of killing while legolas snipes wizards, horses and banners. I think it has a bit of potential but can lose against hordes or F5... ~Stephen
@@anyheroics Great to know, thanks for the reply. You ever think the Rangers faction can be good with all these Goblin Town/Army of Laketown hordes, or F5 legions rocking the GBHL 90 & 100's?
They really need a complete overhaul, tbh. It's about the only LL based on the books that is not only woefully underpowered, but also downright unloreful. The Grey Company fought in two engagements - the seizure of the ships at Pelargir and at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields - and neither is represented by this LL, which is limited to the Three Hunters, Halbarad, the Twins, and RotN, all on foot. At Pelargir, they were a) all mounted (Gimli riding alongside Legolas) and b) supported by the Army of the Dead. Ok, that would make the LL too similar to the RotK one, but... At the Pelennor Fields they a) may or may not have been still at least partially mounted (Aragorn is mentioned 'riding' into battle alongside Éomer after their meeting, though in theory he could have taken one of the Rohirrim's spare horses at that point), but b) more importantly they arrived "leading a great valour of the folk of Lebennin and Lamedon and the fiefs of the South." That the LL can't take Clansmen of Lamedon at least (but really Axemen of Lossarnach and Blackroot Vale Archers also make sense since they passed through both regions on their way to Pelargir) is borderline criminal imho. Only Knights and Men-at-arms of Dol Amroth wouldn't fit, since they all came with Imrahil. Just adding those warriors in as a way to beef up the numbers would go a long way.
24:48 you should have spend the point of might to kill the ranger, he is a hero so from the Blood and Glory special rule, Gil Galad would have regained that might point. At least that’s what I would have done.
Megaaaaa Chad ,using might for a hit roll.
Truly a man after my own heart.

No might left for the high king in this situation
Jamie not playing something completely broken... Who would have seen it coming
We wanted some new armies and he delivered!

Where do you buy spears and shileds for the elves? Thank you

Damn, I wash my Rivendell dice were that hot!
Just microwave them and they stay hot!

Love the low but elite model count of grey company but just lack of numbers. It’s a dice game. More dice you get to roll the better.
Maybe add more rangers and drop a hero then? Have you played them a lot?
~Stephen
Using might on to hit rolls 🤮
