Hey, I'm learning this song to spite my friend because they poked fun at me not being good at violin, but I can't tell if you're using all fingers or just a single finger in the positions shown, the angle makes it really hard. If it's a single finger than I have been practicing it wrong for 4 days now...😅
Keep up the practicing and you'll show them! Hehe I feel a little called out - in general when it makes sense, I definitely recommend keeping fingers down when possible. So when you use the 2nd finger, have the 1st finger down too, and when you use the 3rd finger, keep the 1st and 2nd down too. This really helps you develop a sense of handshape, which will make sight reading easier and help develop muscle memory. It will also help for shifting later on. I guess after all these years I've gotten a little lazy with it, so I'll keep an eye on it when I practice!
@@judithteachesviolin Oh that's good to know! I'm currently self-taught(I'm poverty) so I'm unsure of the positions. I'm glad I haven't spent 4 days learning the wrong fingering though. And you're right, I've definitely noticed my left hand is starting to form the positions easier as time goes on. Thank you for clearing that up for me!
@@judithteachesviolin Or when your going from 3rd finger to 1st, In Song of the Wind (song right before go tell aunt rhody in Suzuki book 1) on the F, D, A, F, E I hold my first finger on the E string the whole time since it won’t affect anything
