So I guess Snyder's Superman sacrificing his life to stop doomsday wasn't him being a hopeful hero and inspiring batman to be a better person in Justice League.
Hell nah it wasn't! Ignoring the fact Doomsday was HIS fault (he killed Zod), the only two people who saw him die were Batman and Wonder Woman. Not only that, his death didn't inspire them to do anything! Bruce changed because of the forced "Martha" crap and Wonder Woman didn't need to change
Fuck no it wasn't 😂 There wasn't even a build up to it he just ran there and died That's what happens when you don't flesh out your character and kill then in their own second movie that wasn't even their movie to begin with but more of a plotless edgy battle royale, BvS is still the worst Superhero movie to date. Well there was no buildup and in the comics it was only Superman that was the last one standing and he sacrifices himself to save the world and Metropolis and they brought him back quick in the next movie so there was no real worry or nothing. They should of done another standalone Superman movie before introducing Doomsday and they should not have pit Batman or wonder woman in it. Unless they did like the comics and they both were unable to do anything to stop it. They shouldn't have brought him back so quick it was just so quick and they didn't let it sink in or us get used to the new Superman

I ain’t part of the snyder cultists cause brother, for those who keep wishing for the snyderverse to be back, put the fries in the bag bro. James Gunn might be what DC needs right now after years of DC flopping. And just like Joker was dropping bars on Jason Todd, I hope Gunn drops banger after banger.
0:43, And that's the thing, Superman can absolutely go to dark places or be very action oriented, but only as long as that other side of his character is equally represented, since he's the kind of person that doesn't just protect, he counsels, he comforts, and directly or indirectly, he inspires, 0:56, just as willing to fight to the death to stop Doomsday from destroying the planet even if he dies too, 1:09 as he is to do things like visit dying children in the hospital to cheer them up even though he knows he can't save them (or in other words "I can do both."), 1:34, because he's a compassionate and generous person, and he can express that in either the largest or smallest of ways. Around the time of Brandon Routh's Superman was where the burden of his power and the isolating effect of his alien nature was getting more attention, but soon they became the only point of focus with Snyder's sensibilities and the "Evil Superman" trope becoming overused (with a few welcome exceptions like Homelander and Omniman, who are their own characters with their own nuanced stories and themes to explore), and now the pendulum's swinging back to the other side where more creatives are focusing on Clark's virtues and morals (or in My Adventures With Superman's case, at times making him innocent to the point of naive, something he has to overcome as he gains the confidence to assert his morals). So far, Superman And Lois' layered and complex version of Clark, who is both a badass action hero the same way Cavill's version is, "wholesome" like Reeve's version is, and burdened like Routh's version is (the end result being kinda of like Chris Evan's Captain America if he were a dad living in the suburbs), is among the best live-action takes on Superman, because it's a version that demonstrates the character can "do both", 5:22, though DC Studios Superman seems to be leaning more into the ridiculous with how he's doing things like styling his suit like a pro wrestler with the red trunks as a means to mitigate how afraid people are of him, meaning he humble and brave enough (or ashamed of his alien nature and power enough) to be willing to humiliate himself so he doesn't scare people as much as possible.
Funny you mention that. Gunn has stated an inspiration for this movie was "What's So Funny About Truth, Justice and The American Way", the story Superman vs The Elite was based off
I always thought that edgy Superman felt out of character because my first exposure to DC was the lego games, so it's nice to see a story that may be as bright and hopeful as his outfit.
Fun fact: David did actually request Superman to wear his iconic red spandex to make people less afraid of Superman because of his God-like powers. That shows he actually knows the character and gives me hope this film's gonna be good
I'm so excited for this movie. Appreciate the commentary. Superman staying in one spot for a suicidal girl for so long was so touching. I haven't read the immense amount of comics, but seeing Superman be present for her, when he could be literally anywhere else, doing literally anything else, is what I want to see in this version of him. I would choose to live just because of that. Maybe it's not so bad after all.
DC fans overreact to every casting announcement, it’s not just these ones. Frankly, the overreactions I’ve seen for these castings have been tame by comparison to previous examples. Literally every time Batman was cast (barring George Clooney ironically) DC fans have bitched, Heath Ledger’s casting as Joker, Jason Mamoa as Aquaman, the list could go on for literally as many people as has been cast in any DC film projects. The fact that it hasn’t escalated to the same level as previous situations shows how much DC fans overall are actually trying to trust in James Gunn… trying being the operative word.
With this one trailer I saw the Superman I spent my childhood growing attached to thru the comics, the Superman that is pried hope, that shot of him saving the girl is the definition of what he stands for. Seeing my GOAT Krypto was a bonus . And that’s on God
I am with you there Demi i am super excited for a new and fresh take on Superman with David as Superman. It looks good and the soundtrack is beautiful. I hope the extra characters and heroes are only in the movie for a little bit to show how much Superman can inspire change in others who are fighting for justice. Either way i have hope for this new direction.
That ad transition was smooth. When I saw the trailer for the first time, it filled me with excitement for the upcoming film and knowing that Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow is supposed to be right after Superman just makes me even more excited. I'm glad James Gunn took the time to fill the Superman film with multiple characters to make the first film feel lived in. This is going to be special.
First time watching the new trailer made me shed a few tears. It’s just refreshing to finally have a version of Superman who isn’t trying to be dark or edgy and instead be a symbol of what he’s always meant to be. Hope. Marvel better get themselves in gear, cause I agree, 2025 might not be their year.
Honestly James Gunn's whole "I will not greenlight a film until there's a finished script" thing is actually very nice to hear, especially with all the tom-foolery that Marvel's been doing with Blade, Mahershala Ali has been on the bench waiting for that movie to get past pre-production for YEARS now.

Don’t get me wrong, I like Injustice Superman. It doesn’t bug me that that Superman was so messed up, because everyone in the universe was messed up. Even Batman (Who was still a hero in the universe) gave up on the hope he used to stand for as he had become jaded over the years to a degree even the normal Batman would find pessimistic. But as much as I like that alternate interpretation of Superman, I hate how that became the norm for 10 years. It’s like the only thing DC knew how to do with Superman was try to re-create that shock value of an evil man of steel and forgot that he is supposed to be “the blue Boy Scout”. The symbol of hope that all superheroes strive to be like

I’m praying to every god that has ever existed to have this movie actually be good. I’ve been stressed ever since I heard of the canceled Batman beyond movie. I gotta see DC pull a few more w’s until I can actually hold out hope. (Love your vids Demi.) 🙏🏿
Thank you for calling out the Snyder die hards. It's driven me crazy how they cover their ears and shout without giving this movie a chance simply because they scrapped Cavill.
why? they have a right to not support as you do to support it. We grew up with this shit. Not everyone likes watching the the same shit retold in a medium with different personality types of the same hero.
I was always 50/50 on Superman, but after watching this trailer and the Superman & Lois show I love him. What makes this better is that the movie comes out on my birthday!!!!
The one thing I like about this movie is that they're not doing the whole origin story again they're just like: Lois already knows who is, and she loves him He has Krypto Lex hates his ass and so on
0:31 Takes a strong person to admit their flaws, former or current. I used to hate Superman as well. But after checking out stories from people who actually get his character (All-Star Superman and Mark Millar comics), I see that’s he’s what the good in humanity strives to be; Able to do almost anything but having the heart to only do what’s right.
Well, it might be the Superman movie that we wanted, but we all have different tastes. Thus why many people don't like Superman's new suit, and that includes me. Because, in my personal view, Superman's suit must be tight, revealing his muscular body structure and showing how strong he is just by his presence. But in case with his new suit, it looks like he is wearing a suit that is too big for him. It looks baggy, there is no muscles revealing and it looks very cheap. Like a cheap cosplayer suit made for few bucks. And then that long neck collar with those lines all around the suit makes it look like another New 52 adaptation of the suit. Yes, I know that James Gunn said that he didn't wanted to add a fake muscles under that suit, but the problems is that, he don't have to. Like, look at Christopher Reeve Superman suit or Brandon Routh. None of their suits had fake muscles. It was just them actors with their natural physique under those suits. And then it was pure classic adaptation of classic animated suit of Superman. No lines, no bagginess or other bs. So why not give this Superman a pure classic suit without fake muscles? I don't undertsnad this. And don't get me started on that Green Lantern. He looks like a dork. Yes, I know who Guy Gardner is but they don't have to make him look like a dork. Like, he could be a normal looking green lantern guy, no pun intended, with bully personality and that's it. That would have done it. But we have what we have. The only thing I like about that trailer is the dog. He looks just cute. Heck, make a movie just about that dog and it would win my heart 100%. So yeah, I hope that despite bad, IN MY OPINION, characters look the movie itself gonna be good. Which is what I'm highly skeptical about but I hope that I'm wrong.
I will say I’m very excited for this movie the one kinda issue I hade was it seems like a lot of other heroes are more spotlight characters and not more of a cameo role but I’m looking forward to seeing Mr Terrific he is one of my favorite characters and I trust James knows what he’s doing. Great video by the way and even though it’s late happy holidays everyone😁
I’m so excited. We’ve had so many deconstructions of superman. It’s overdue we see superman how he was made. A super human. not a super alien god. With human feelings and empathises with humanity and Is there for us
I have to point out something. The reason superman was holding that girl head mostly likely just some random action james gunn wanted superman to do, because superman has this type of telekinesis that prevents things like lip lash, and tearing through planes when he lifts them from happening. Kryptonians like superman have a weaker version of telekinesis compared to his clone superboy who has full on telekinesis. Kryptonian telekinesis is called tactile telekinesis
I want *nothing* to do with anything DC related until their source material (comics) stops being crap. Case in point, the upcoming Harley Quinn special.
I love when a superhero sits and talks to a broken person and gives them hope. Superman, Batman and Spider-Man fo that.
That's the hero I've been waiting to see
I think this is one thing movies don't show enough, superheroes actually caring for their people.

I’m praying to every god that has ever existed to have this movie actually be good. I’ve been stressed ever since I heard of the canceled Batman beyond movie. I gotta see DC pull a few more w’s until I can actually hold out hope. (Love your vids Demi.) 🙏🏿
Felices fiestas Demigah.
Hope your New Year will be incredible 💜☝🏾
That bit with the secret identity is super hilarious 😂😂😂❤😂😂😂
You funny, my guy. Keep it up
Thank you very much 😂💜
Thank you for calling out the Snyder die hards. It's driven me crazy how they cover their ears and shout without giving this movie a chance simply because they scrapped Cavill.
why? they have a right to not support as you do to support it. We grew up with this shit. Not everyone likes watching the the same shit retold in a medium with different personality types of the same hero.
@KingQov How did my prior statement make you draw a conclusion like that?! 😂
3:23 the most relatable shit I’ve ever heard
I was always 50/50 on Superman, but after watching this trailer and the Superman & Lois show I love him. What makes this better is that the movie comes out on my birthday!!!!
Yes! I can't wait!
Hey demi James Gunn is a perfect writer story and he also made creature commodores season 1
The one thing I like about this movie is that they're not doing the whole origin story again they're just like:
Lois already knows who is, and she loves him
He has Krypto
Lex hates his ass and so on
Took the words out of my mouth.
Once again james gunn being the goat
Preach it brother
0:31 Takes a strong person to admit their flaws, former or current.
I used to hate Superman as well. But after checking out stories from people who actually get his character (All-Star Superman and Mark Millar comics), I see that’s he’s what the good in humanity strives to be; Able to do almost anything but having the heart to only do what’s right.
The trailer looks absolutely amazing, and I love that Gunn is really embracing DC as DC, and it shows
Can't wait for the movie in July 👏🏾
Merry gahmas
WOOHOOO I'M SO EXCITED FOR THIS SUPERMAN
🔥🔥🔥🐐
Demigah the goat fr
I need a scene of batman and superman sitting in a diner together from hishe in live action
guy, hawkgirl , mr.terrific got me hype to see this
Ahh... finally
Finally, the moment we're waiting for
I can’t get mad at james gunn for putting the homies on😭😭 shoutout to adam sandler tho
I’m so excited. We’ve had so many deconstructions of superman. It’s overdue we see superman how he was made. A super human. not a super alien god. With human feelings and empathises with humanity and Is there for us
God bless James Gunn! I'm actually hyped for a Superman movie! Let that man COOK!! 🔥🔥
I thought it said RUINED.
Classic Demigah.😂😂😂😂
I agree 👍
I want *nothing* to do with anything DC related until their source material (comics) stops being crap. Case in point, the upcoming Harley Quinn special.
Each of your videos is a little success story. Thank you for your contribution to the RUclips community!🎼😊🎬
I don't know how about everyone else but I'm hyped for James Gunn's Superman. I also hope we'll get to see a new Superman game too.
