This is so interesting! I live in a very old house and there are several rim locks on interior doors, and there used to be a mortise lock on the front door. I never knew what era they were from or what they were called.
question: 1930s spindle type with set screw. I tighten handle and set screw . works great for a while and then comes loose.. what's the best way to prevent from needing to tighten every couple weeks? thanks

I didn’t know my knobs were Bennington browns, or ceramic!
How are the knobs attached to the backplate?

put loctite blue on the screws.
I have one of those types with metal box frame around with the lock lever being on the side or top.
