Agreed 100%. Any of the old school songs that show off Brendan’s skills are top notch in my book. 2x2 just rocks so freaking hard. P.S. big fan of your channel
Took my 64yo classic/hard rock loving dad to this 2 night run as his first UM experience and my 5th/6th. His reaction was "one of the best concerts I've ever been to". Now I'm contemplating a trip to Red Rocks..
I am a 64 year old hard rock fan who discovered UM in 2007 at Bonnaroo in Manchester TN. They have weaned me of production music and gotten me addicted to creative music.
Sudden shift to a psychedelic mood at ~3 minutes. Transition to 2x2 at ~12 mins. Then gets super funky ~19 mins. I can’t put my finger on it but that funkiness reminds me of a 70s song in a super awesome way.
@@johnbell792 I used to be a huge Jake guy. as in, huge. I was in my early 20s and saw UM as much as possible. now I'm in my mid-30s and I can honestly say I now prefer Brendan's style more.
Came into Raleigh riding high after Billy Strings in GSO and I had low expectations. Was blown away, of course. Asheville Friday night went to another level.
@@andrewdeming5285 I should have charged to AVL. I was also at Billy GSO. Also came into Raleigh with low expectations. It was probably my 55th ish UM show, and honestly reignited the fanfare. That Hot For Teacher was unbelievable!!
2X2 is such a banger.

glad to see you still kicking around these parts. spent a lot of time enjoying your videos.
We were at the two night stand in Asheville. The Umph rules all universes!
2X2 is now, has always been, and will always be the best Umphrey's song.

It reminds me of “Fame” by David Bowe.
@@2962Todd yes was a deliberate Fame tease. Might be noted on the set list
Fame by David Bowie.
Myers is a hardworking individual. Kid's got potential
If he'd only buckle down and really apply himself there's no telling how good he could be!
a real brings his lunch pail to work kinda guy
Flew in from London for these gigs.. awesome
Triple thumbs up. Amazing transitions.
Brendan is so good at guitar it’s a crime he’s not more widely recognized as such. Hot damn.
Only so much you can do when the other guitar player in your band is an alien robot

Kris is on fire, my God. You will never hear better percussion/rock drumming than this. They all kill it, but c'mon, Kris and Andy!!!!
That tone on Bayliss guitar gives the chills! Good stuff!
Reminds me a bit of David Gilmour's tone and I love it
I totally got chills listening to Bayliss right before I read your comment. That gave me more chills. lol
Thank You!!
so good
I loveee y’all
love it ❤❤❤😂😂😂
These guys are like a more listenable phish nice
We tuned in for both Asheville sets in the bed- we love us some UMPH ❤️
So happy to have been in the room for this run. Out fucking standing as per usual!!
That was a killer two songs to see live.
Damn Skippy. Love this tours' vibe.
That 2x2 funk jam has tinges of Fame by Bowie in it and frankly, I'm here for it \mm/
I think it's more than a tinge!
It is what it is and about

Killer
The Raleigh show was so tight!!!! Bridgeless and Similar Skin were both killer, among many others
