    Thank you so much for this video! You really explain everything so well and actually show us a squat from the side so we can see what we need to be doing!

    Thanks for the one leg at a time tip on down dog, I've been trying to get to heels on the ground and haven't had made any progress. I'll definitely give this a try.

    Loving this channel. Important for people who do work sitting all day. I enjoy it more when you shoot your video outdoors, natural movements with nature. Show us more difficult movements in the future. I have mastered the squat now.

    I am so stiff I pretty much need an immovable object in front of me like the doorway you show or squat rack to not fly backwards with great force! It's more of an intense back workout for me right now but I'll keep trying, I think it's the best way if even possible for me with my body composition, it doesn't hurt my low back or my knees like when I put something under my heels.

    hey men I do a lot of squat but like excercice paralell squat etc, when you deep squat like the video, you engange your glutes consciously as a contraction , or simply go down? anteversion or retroversion in the bottom of the movement?

    @Uncaged Man Hi, I am building my mobility for weighted squats but I'm having a problem with my squat. Everytime I squat down or use the desk exercise, my knees feel like they are in very uncomfortable "stretch" (or too much pressure on them) and after a few seconds have to immediately go up . I try to lean back but the pain is still there and I don't see this as normal. When I see you and other people do it, it looks painless and not a problem. Is this just weak knees and should just start from the beginning or should I consult a doctor? Thanks.

  • @stevenswall

    Are you truly relaxed when squatting? I can do it, but flex the top/front ankle joint to force more weight onto my heel because I'm nearly off balance if I don't.
    Are you flexing that at all? (It's a movement similar to standing and tapping your feet. Lifting the toe towards the knee.

    is it normal ti feel pain in your knee?? i can almost do te hole deep squat but te pain i feel in both knees because of the preasure limits me a lot. Advices????

    • @kyleg4d
      @kyleg4d 4 года назад

      apparently using a yoga block or two (depending on how deep you can get) to sit on, takes pressure off the knees but gives the benefits of the squat.

    I am morbidly obese and do this fine for extended amounts of time, it creeps people out because I'm so big, my body shouldn't be able to do it. My thin friends and family all squat with their heels up, they can't go flat without pain or falling over.

    • @MrProthall
      @MrProthall 8 лет назад +1

      +Athalia The one thing about being obese (i am too) is the goddamn leg strength. Leg press is a breeze, because we have to control that weight ALL DAY. Every day. If you are flexible enough to go down, you can stay there no problem

      Don't beat yourself over it. Sometimes it is a body type . Villagers in India and many others too sit in this position for almost an hour , and I can too. We can move around in it turn sideways , turn one knee out get up comfortably. That doesn't mean I am supremely fit or fitter than you are . Keep moving towards it a little bit everyday. Use whatever technique's that help you.

    I hate this, and yoga. Why complicate something which is just as simple as squatting? The longer you squat, the more flexible you will become. Nothing else, like this, is needed.

    Do you have any floor modifications? I have an Orthostatic condition, and because of the sedentary days that are often necessary, you can imagine my hip health is suffering.
    I will lose consciousness with too many postural changes, or time spent standing.
    You could make a video for POTS patients, which is gaining awareness and would probably get you some web traffic!
    Anyways, I know that's oddly specific, but if you have some extra quarantine time on your hands and are feeling generous, I'd love to explore some floor modifications to start from!
    Thanks in advance for your reply
