- Around two weeks after the Olympic relay race and without any specific preparation, Kristian Blummenfelt's return to the long distance was a success: He won the Ironman Frankfurt in 7:26:21 hours, thereby impressively validating his start in Hawaii.

As someone told Chris McCormack when he wanted to go from Iron-man back to the Olympics, it's a one way road. KB did exceptionally well to be as competitive as he was in Paris. This definitely shows his strength is now his endurance.

Ich kann nichts machen, ich mag den Jungen einfach nicht. Hier auch wieder, er setzt sich gegen 80 Profis durch und nachher würde er den Sieg gerne gegen Paris eintauschen. Ich finds einfach respektlos. Seine Tour de France-Ansage war genauso. Und mal ganz ehrlich, auch wenn er jetzt ein sehr wichtiges Rennen gewonnen hat, im Unterschied zu St.GeorgeWM auch mal mit Konkurrenz, bis zum GOAT fehlen ihm noch mindestens 5 Jahre höchstes Niveau und 3 Hawaii-Siege. Von Gold in Tokyo abgesehen ist er im Moment eher Faris al-Sultan als Kienle oder Frodeno
Also ich wäre auch lieber Olympiasieger als Europameister

TBH I think his words were fair. He didn’t make a big point of the comparison with Paris, just mentioned it initially. His words were then emphasised by this YT channel to maximise engagement.
Bro, du vergleichst Kienle nicht ernsthaft mit Blummenfelt. Kienle war super und hat sich gegen Fordeno in 2014 durchgesetzt aber mehr auch nicht. Blummenfelt hat bis jetzt alles gewonnen, was der Triathlon Sport zu bieten hat. Von Olympia bis zur 70.3 wm und die Ironman wm. Und Ansagen, wie bei der tdf gehören zum Sport dazu
For me this just shows the value he puts on to being Olympic champion. The world watches and dreams of the Olympics whereas only a small minority follow full/middle distance. I’ve been doing IM for 10 years but they are not in the same league in terms of prestige. That’s why people like AB, JF and KB are in a league apart.
