Fully enjoyed this history and trip with you. Great knowledge to share. I'm ready for the next trip!

Plus you were close to the home of Big Boy 4014 and "The Living Legend" Union Pacific 844!

I had to look those up, I didn't realize they still had those running. I think the steam engines are fascinating. I drive past Big Boy 4004 on display in a park along Lincolnway in Cheyenne. I've been meaning to stop and take a look. Maybe next trip...

@@bitsofwisdom460 Yes, sir, 4014's restoration was finshed in early 2019, he recently completed a 2 month tour of the midwest.

Oh, and 844 has never been retired, she's been in active service since she was brand new.

@@stevew270 Well, I'm going to have more trips out to Cheyenne in the future. I found the Union Pacific page for those engines. I'll need to watch and see when I might catch them in action. I see a note that they like to run that stretch out to Sherman hill west of Cheyenne.

@@bitsofwisdom460 Big Boy 4014 has been the star of the show since the restoration was completed in 2019, sadly 844 hasn't ran since then after they both were at the Golden Spike's 150th anniversary celebration, we steam fans are hoping 844 will get some attention this coming year.
