I enjoy your content so damn much. Sometimes I just stop a lesson and play my version of Simon says and just do weird stuff. Being weird gets their attention, which is great. Sometimes I just tell them to stand up and walk around the room and sit back down. Just disrupting the routine and what is normal. Thank you so much for your content. I will be seeing my local thrift store this weekend.
Love these!! I use my cell phone to call my classroom phone so they hear it ring. I have AMAZING fake conversations and it works like a charm!! I am pulling out my 8 ball to have fun with that but I would love the giant size. Is it on Amazon?? You're brilliant 🤓
I have done the fake phone call and I've done the composing an email as I'm walking to my desk or just sitting at the desk... When I first started doing it I was worried that maybe I was crossing some sort of boundary but thank you for this it reinforces that sometimes trusting your gut with certain kids really is the way to go.
Oh and yes I love the ideas you have. You’ve inspired me to really find all sorts of fun things kids can do when they finish work early and just general ideas of ways to catch kids off guard because that really gets their attention.
I haven’t tried this yet, but I would like to give students an allotted amount of bathroom passes that can add up to extra credit if they hold on to them. When it comes to using the bathroom decisions decisions they will have to make.
I’m literally buying a magic 8 ball as soon as I’m done writing this comment and implementing it in class tomorrow. Genius! I love the camera idea too. I use my phone to take “pictures,” but the absurd camera you have is so much better!
I've done tons of the phone calls, thought it was my idea😂. I've done the remote. I've taken real photos and sent them home. Good and not good. The best was when I sent home a photo of a kid splayed on the floor instead of some flexible "seating" option, but his parents gave it a heart and said he looked like he was enjoying his day 😆
Hey! We have a week and a bit of holidays left. I am planning like crazy. Excited to get started. Using ChatGPT to help my programming has been a time saving game changer.
@@CJReynolds Going great CJ. You would love my room. It's a drama room so my desk is on the stage lol. Sprinkling magic where I can. Loving them one lesson at a time.
I like to write a fake email to their parent, football coach, etc and project it on the board as I type what I'm dictating out loud. Then I look at the kid beginning disruptive or whatever and tell them all I have to do is press send. Works like a charm 😏
I love using megaphones! Here’s a fun idea… when you’re standing in the hallway with your megaphone, and a fellow teacher starts coming down the hallway I say to the kids “ ladies and gentlemen now introducing Mr./Mrs. …” and the kids give them round of applause. It is hilarious every time.

“ your version of Simon says” 😍💥 there’s an idea that I wish I thought of first. Fantastic work Jane.!
I use Simon says to figure out who is actually listening to me. Works so well.

As you mentioned, the key part of this is using it for certain kids, and not just everyone. Great work Teach!

I'm excited to try the remote one later this week!
Hope you enjoy it!

Love the magic eight ball and the mega magic eight ball!
The mega magic, eight ball is truly one of my prize possessions😂❤️

I'm curious what happens when the magic 8 ball says yes; do you honor that as the answer?
Thanks❤❤❤❤❤
You're welcome!
I use a megaphone and talk to students in the hallway for good/not as good things.
