- The Shenyang J-6 Chinese: 歼-6; designated F-6 for export versions; (NATO code name: Farmer) is the Chinese-built version of the Soviet MiG-19 'Farmer' fighter aircraft, the world's first mass-produced supersonic aircraft.
Although the MiG-19 had a comparatively short life in Soviet service, the Chinese came to value its agility, turning performance, and powerful cannon armament, and produced it for their own use between 1958 and 1981. While the basic Soviet-built MiG-19 has been retired from all nations, the Shenyang J-6 still flies for nine of its original 15 operators, however, in a very limited capacity. The J-6 airframe contributed to the Chinese ground attack version, the Q-5, which still flies for numerous nations.
The J-6 was considered "disposable" and was intended to be operated for only 100 flight hours (or approximately 100 sorties) before being overhauled. The Pakistan Air Force was often able to extend this to 130 hours with diligent maintenance.
A number of J-6 based at Lianchen and Yantan-li bases appeared to have been converted into unmanned aircraft. Work on unmanned J-6 was first reported in 2013.
Hello again and welcome to another video. Today's example is from Terebo and is in 1:72 scale diecast. It is the Shengyang J-6 or Farmer. Is an ok build for the price, but not super high quality with that pitot tube supplied being a real issue as its not even close to being like the real thing.
I hope you enjoy this video, and it helps in your decision to whether you decide yourself to make the same purchase as me. Thanks again for taking the time to watch and have a great rest of your day. If you enjoyed the video, why not throw us a like or even subscribe @heavymetaldiecast

Thank you for the video. I have few things to share with you. The scale is wrong it is something between 1/72 - 1/48. If you like a the most acutely represented 1/72 is Panzerkampf Model Mig-19S. The price is steep but the ordinance & landing gear are all magnetic. The panels and most importantly the 3X30 mm canons are there. That’s why that airplane was admired. Agile and hard hitting Ground attack fighter. Good for 1955-1969 😅. Great video as always.
Glad you enjoyed the video 😀. I do plan on getting a panzerkampf MiG-19 version, the paint schemes look interesting 😀. Yes for me they are a bit on the expensive side but hoping to find one at a good price that I'm happy to pull the trigger on 😀. Thanks again for watching and taking the runtime to comment. 😀👍
Muito legal! 🌟👍
I order tonight PLA J-6B from Panzerkampf is really beautiful
The Panzerkampf MiG-19 (J-6) models are really nice!!
Fun fact:
The J-6 had been shot down once, but the Chinese government didn't admit it
Simply because it was done by Taiwan
Oh really!! Ha that wouldn't surprise me. Sometimes when I see the plane models with the Taiwanese symbols on them blocked out on ads for models on places like AliExpress it makes me wonder what goes on in governments heads!!! It does kind of surprise me the way countries are towards each other these days. A generation ago they were all holding hands and helping each other, the West helping Soviets and Chinese during WW2 only to spend the next 70-80 years hating each other, crazy humans hey!! But at least we have a whole heap of cool looking diecast military models to get from that ,haha
Hi I just bought the same model. I am happy with this model. The mig-19 is not a popular model and its diecast versions are relatively new. This one is the cheap version, the expensive one costs over one hundred US dollars.
Yeah I've been looking at a panzerkampf one i think that's the maker, but it's around the $160aud mark. But it at least has the correct put it tube 😂. This model is not bad for the price and if you can look past the pitotbtube fault. 😀
@@heavymetaldiecast l think that the expensive version may be better, as you point out, but this chinese version is quite good in view of its price. In my opinion, it would be nice to buy a version of the f-100, which is the us rival of the mig-19. Both planes were not too successful but they made history by becoming the first supersonic fighters. I have the mig sequence in 1/72' and this mig-19 is huge. My guess is that it is bigger than the f-100.
@@jmguevarajordan I just got a Hobby Master F-100D this week. I thought the same thing that the MiG looks alot bigger but I just compared the two models just now and they are surprisingly similar in size, the 100 actually a larger wingspan. 😀
@@heavymetaldiecast thank you for your comment about the size of both models.👍
@@jmguevarajordan happy to do it 😀. If i remember when I do the video on the F-100 I will try and grab the J-6 or an actual MiG 19 if I get one in time and put them side by side 😀. Cheers
