Wow! The blue one is beautiful. It's strange but that colour doesn't come across in any of the pictures I've seen. I have the ubiquitous black one which is a really good example. The bezel action and crown feel as good as any Seiko and the bezel is perfectly aligned. I was also very impressed with its time keeping, if worn continuously, with an additional 25-30 half turns in the mornings it will stay within 3 seconds over a week, easily the best of my NH35A'S. My only slight criticism is of the straps and bracelets, (which seems a little mean given the price) mine came on the latter and while the bracelet is just about fine, the end links weren't very well finished, and required some attention with the file and some rebrushing (on the underside, the tops were fine) after some attention they fit much better. I also replaced the clasp with a milled one. To be honest I'd gladly pay the asking price for just the head and sort the strap myself, and I'm tempted now to pick up a blue one. Great video thanks.
Yes, the blue variation looks even better in person...the green one too, actually! I had the same end link issue with my bracelet, though the clasp didn’t bug me. They recently switched bracelets and resolved the end link issue but created another one...the male end links now protrude out quite a bit, adding a bit of length to how the lug to lug wears. Why did you have to show the blue one? I have bought 2 black (1 for my dad) and a green on the way. The blue is spot on colour wise. These are the best value watches, period. I own San Martins a bronze green dial and a blue steel turtle. But find SD more accurate, SM also screwed up not doing a lumed bezel. If Cap'n Willard were to buy a watch today it would not be a Seiko, it would be a Steeldive 💯

Can't decide what colour. Saw some reviewers moaning about the cheap clasp but I could live with it. The no-logo version looks very sharp too, if you've seen that. Green doesn't show up so well on camera but I might go that way.
Yeah, the clasp doesn’t bother me too much, but end link sway is rough. I’ll cover it in my full review. The 2021 version now has a logo and signed clasp. It’s worth having the bracelet, but aftermarket straps are also a good choice. Obviously subjective, but my color preference in person is 1) blue 2) green 3) black.
I just bought the black version, but now seeing the green version, I should have taken that. From pictures was way lighter, in reality it's "military -like" green. I want this watch to use it for "military stuff" like running, workouts, swim, dirty works ecc. To LIVE it. Green one would definitely have felt better
The sunburst dial takes on a few different shades depending on lighting. You’ll still be happy with the black. Shoot, at $89 some people buy more than one! You’re going to love it.

Now i realized the big mistake I made and went for the Steeldive (it has a better reputation and everyone says it's better made). I mean in Amazon the green seems so different (like on the Hulk Rolex) and that made me not pick up that 😕
Hello. All of them are beautiful watches. I have just received mine in black colour and I have to say that the watch itself seems to be well done and keeps time perfectly but on the other hand the bracelet that came with it is not useful because both end links are extremely bad machined and finished with lack of material in the sight side and the spring bars are extremely thin so I have put new heavy duty spring bars and a black leather strap with white stitching.......now yes....I like it.....and the price is fine. Nice video of them...new subscriber.....cheers!.
Yes, I will certainly mention that bracelet issue when I do the full review. Mine has the same problem. I’m told they have addressed the issue with their new bracelets, which also now have a signed and logo’d clasp. I have not heard from any reviewers/owners of the link issue was fixed, though. I think it's two years, definitely at least one year. But to me it doesn't matter. Because in most cases you have to pay to send the watch to them, which can sometimes cost more than the watch!
Yes, some viewers don’t quite understand how it works, and think you’re “cheating” when the gain is turned up. You are absolutely right, the gain setting is determined by the size of the “stone” you are testing. At the end of the day, as long as the gauge rises significantly that’s all we’re looking for in a quick test. Mineral crystal would barely move the gauge.

Well, it’s obviously a matter of opinion, but I think the blue dial has an excellent shimmer and color to it. If you like blue, I would go with that one!
On your video they way you're displaying the green face it looks more emerald green when the light catches the brushed face. Other videos it looks almost OD Green compared to your video.
I think the shot at 1:37 looks pretty close to the way it does in person. It’s definitely more “bright” than the Seiko. When I show all three together, later in the video, I think it looks more olive drab there. Do you have a green one, or are you considering?

I've got a LOT of watches and many are high end, but this watch has the finest bezel action of them all. And with a coupon it was 0nly $72 delivered! China will destroy America. Unlike you though I'm not appreciating the blue, or green. They look like low quality fashion watches from the disco era.
I agree with you on the bezel, though I have two models and each have different bezel action. The blue and green look much better in person. The only thing kind of cheap looking is the plastic rehaut.

Ive got the Blue Submariner 1953 and absolutely love it. I have the Green 1970 Turtle coming, i hope i love it as much as i do the Blue 1953.
I think if you love one STEELDIVE, you love them all! Great builds and value for money. This one will wear much smaller than your 1953

All three are SD1970. You may see an AliExpress code of 70GR-SS for the Green dial with Stainless Steel bracelet, but the search term is just SD1970.
