My only variation with the Death and Taxes is using a single malt that I love! Cheers!

This was the first time I've tried Death & Taxes. I'll definitely try a single malt next time.

Thank you! I'm planning a video of Manhatten variations and there will be more drinks similar to Death & Taxes in that one.

Tax evasion sounds delicious! Thanks for the info on how to make the cherry syrup that won’t taste like cough syrup.

Thank you for this video! I've recently become a home cocktail enthusiast and I'm at the stage where I'm trying a lot of random things to see what I like.
Last Monday, April 15, I made myself the Death and Taxes per your instructions, and to my surprise -- I really like this cocktail! I used Monkey Shoulder and Mermaid Gin (Isle of Wight), twist of orange garnish, lovely. Before I tried it, I thought that the whisky and gin would fight each other, but interestingly enough, they truly blend well together. As a 100% spirits cocktail--this is a good drink for people who enjoy a Manhattan.

Glad you liked it! I had the same concern about mixing Scotch and gin in those proportions. But it really does work.
