Not 100% happy with past me's decision to go with a no-name planner that turned out to have wonky, misaligned dots wandering all over the place, but I can live with it for the next sixish months.
Oh no - is what I said out loud when you mentioned hating the cream paper. Seeing the white stickers against it reminds me of why I used to dislike it as well. I guess I started falling for it when I noticed I preferred how my warmer pen inks looked on the paper. And I fell down the washi / PET sticker rabbit hole (not a solution, but I guess I forgot!). I love how it’s looking so far and if you ever feel like you just can’t with your other inserts, I’ll be happy to buy them off you bc I love Midori cream paper. 🥰
I have cream paper in my book journal and that's a pen only situation with brown ink and it's amazing. I don't mind it in my Weeks where I only use black. So I just failed to anticipate that I would hate it here. Oh well, live and learn. It's encouraging me to sketch more and that's not a bad thing. Plus, only 19 spreads to go! I appreciate the offer but I've already relocated the other two to a photo journal and they're totally fine for that. Phew! Edit: 17 spreads, even better!!
@ yay! I’m glad you already reposted them and that you’re well on your way to finishing it. I have been enjoying using inserts as well for journaling this year. I normally prefer a thicker book as I agree it feels more special, but I’ve also been stuck using a book that I didn’t love because I was too stubborn to change until it was completed. At least with inserts, I know I don’t have to wait a whole year to try something else.
I have a feeling I am going to be in a similar boat. I made a snap decision to start off with a Traveler's Company 002 insert as part of my "use the bleep you have" vibe I'm trying for in 2025. I am already having to increase my nib sizes to deal with the dryness and the ginormous grid. I am trying to knock myself out of my comfort zone a bit as well in the hopes that it sparks some creativity. I freaking hope it works!
Yeah I have had the same problem with hobonichi toucho cousin I am terrified that it's going to bleed through so I am already thinking about moving into a GLP creations the author notebook 68 GSM tomoe river no book last year it was fine we will see what happens if I have to move into it this year
@@KatiesCraftStudio It took me a couple of years to find this out! I was using Filofax planners with Filofax inserts since the 80s. Then I really didn’t like them anymore. I'm with you - bought a Kinbor weekly for my health planner - stared at it for 2 days and went back to my Jibun layout in my travelers notebook. LOL Now trying to figure out what the heck to do with my Kinbor - it's dated - I NEED to do something with it!!!
I am using my Kinbor weekly as a gratitude journal, I got it as a test to see if I would like to have a Hobonichi weeks next year, the answer is no 😂, but I will stick to it anyway for this year.
@@KatiesCraftStudio I love...the paper and the size...But the horizontal layout just left me frustrated trying to figure out how to make it work...I am a vertical girl...I have decided to use it for my goal Journal...fingers crossed...
I bought a Traveller's Journal and immediately hated it. The format was too narrow for me to comfortably write in it. So I switched back to my favorite, a Leuchturm. This year I splurged and bought the official Bullet Journal with stickers.
@@SusansColorfulExpressions i just finished reading his book and the temptation to switch entirely to that right now is pretty strong. I hope yours serves you well!
Also I have made a separate book for putting photos in so that way I can show the journaling side and perhaps not so much the picture side if I dont want to which having everything separate is awesome and stressful :)
@@MissMarilynDarling yeah, I already have a separate one for my little baby nephew. But at the end of the day, I don't owe anyone access to my journal and I'm ready to think of it as private by default instead of the other way around.
Love the cougar; looks awesome on the cream paper. I’m in the minority in that I like the cream paper. Not a whole lot of pre-made journals/notebooks with the cream though. For now, my 5-year Hobo satisfies that cream paper craving. I went through a B6-slim phase and yes, that can be a struggle too. Seems like I never make it easy for myself!😂
@@jaimespearman8328 Nope, the 5-year is cream. I'm into my 3rd year so purchased in 2023 but did double check the 2025 journals at the Hobo site and they are also cream.
I’m with you I love the cream paper as well, don’t find many others who like it. The cousin and the five year use a whiter paper than the weeks but not that stark white that most planners use. I have used both and love them, but I love the cream paper best of all. I wish there were more options in cream.
@@Tina.Journals I like cream paper just fine in my book journal and my Weeks, both of which I only write in black or brown. It's the interaction with color I don't personally like. But I totally understand why people do, there's a coziness to it.
