Most of these woman did not just allow them to be the butt of the jokes. These were professional female comedians who wrote the jokes themselves.

Just googled it I'll copy and paste it...
Married With Children ran for 11 seasons from 1987 to 1997. The show's pilot aired on April 5, 1987, and the series finale aired on May 5, 1997.
Married With Children was the first primetime show on Fox. The show was created by Michael G. Moye and Ron Leavitt. It starred Ed O'Neill as Al Bundy, Katey Sagal as Peggy Bundy, Christina Applegate, David Faustino as Bud Bundy, and Amanda Bearse as Marcy D'Arcy.
The show was canceled due to declining viewership and increasing production costs. However, it remains the longest-running live-action sitcom on Fox.
In 2022, Sony Pictures Television announced that an animated revival of Married With Children is in the works.

    Al Bundy was gigantic.
Back then, there weren't so many people who felt constantly attacked.
The ladies here in this compilation often wrote the jokes themselves.
So they were totally fine with the gags, some of which were pretty offensive.
By the way, Al Bundy is laughed at heartily in most episodes of the series. So the jokes go both ways.

And whats interesting is one of the women, lost weight while she was actively on the show, and you see it, and they actually wrote in, that she confronts Bundy, asking him if he recognizes, or remembers her, you know since she lost weight, and of all the actresses, she was my fav, she gave Bundy a hard time of it, shes the one that comes to the shoe store as they're closing, and ask them aren't they open, and Bundy hands that line that unlike her mouth they occasionally close,..I absolutely loved her, she had that commanding indignant voice, like she wasn't gonna take any flak from anyone,..just brilliant, this show was crazy, watched it every week without fail, Bundy, O'Neill, was in a crazy movie with Andrew Dice Clay,..The Adventures of Ford Fairlane, I couldn't believe he was in it, and with Wayne Newton, and Priscilla Presley no less(yeah, that Presley, widow of Elvis), it was crazy,..but of course O'Neill was also in Modern Family, another crazy show,..do check those out if you haven't seen them, riotous good time,..loved your reaction, Godspeed, Peace ✌

The show got plenty of flack at the time but the opinions and demands of the minority didn't matter as much as ratings. They didn't shut things down back then just because some people didn't approve, it was handled by saying, "Don't like it? Don't watch it".

Many of the fat women were writers and comedians who wrote many of the jokes themselves. The jokes were really making fun of Al himself. He basically peaked in high school, but thought he was destined for a wild and crazy life of parties and hot women. Instead he quickly got married, had children, and ended up making a career out of a part time job. He works in a women's shoe store, but only fat women come in. He doesn't even get the thrill of waiting on hot women.

Here’s something to note. Now that these fat jokes are not done. Where are the big woman in tv or Hollywood today? This show had hundreds of big woman on the show who got acting work because it was a thing. Now people shamed those who do it until it’s not done and now those big woman are gone from tv and those jobs are gone. So those claiming they care and helping big woman have only hurt them. Which is par for the course for the woke and activist types. They make everything worse. Also I’m a big guy. I don’t get offended at things not aimed at me. General jokes about something should not offend individuals. Be it fat jokes, racial jokes, or gender jokes. Same for comments that are not jokes. How can you be offended if someone’s intentions wasn’t to offend you? You are choosing to be offended and apply negative intentions to yourself that was never directed toward you.
