Season 1 Episode 12 "Sports Medicine"
A severely broken arm reveals a bizarre case of bone loss and ends the comeback plans of major league pitcher Hank Wiggen (Scott Foley). House suspects Hank - with a history of drug abuse - is lying about using steroids, as his condition worsens. When Hank's kidneys start to fail, his wife offers to donate hers, but she will have to abort her early pregnancy, something Hank does not want. Eventually House finds out the wife suffers from loss of smell, indicating the pair have smoked cannabis which was grown on cadmium polluted soil. Meanwhile, Foreman dates a pharmaceutical representative and House goes to a monster truck rally with Cameron.

Jeez.. Wilson looks so young like he was out of college then.
Oncology wears you out, man. Getting cancer too.
Oh, and being friends with House.
@@hopemikaelson9223 ya it might've been mostly house
@@hopemikaelson9223 It's mostly having House as a friend that's wearing him out. I speak from experience having a friend similar to House. It's exhausting man.
he was 34
Not as young as Be-not-afraid Wilson though
"...it's his secret friendship club name." ☹
😆😆
I love how awkward he seems asking literally anyone else besides Wilson to hang out. Cameron is probably the minion he likes the most and it still sounds like he’s having such a hard time ask her. It’s even funnier because it’s not because he likes her, it just because he doesn’t remember how to talk normally to anyone but Wilson
"..except for the date part" I laugh every time this line
“Race you to the car” wow Cameron.
House and Cameron’s little monster truck date was so cute
I love the line, "We have to sign a release. We do this, we could die."
This clip hits differently as you watch more into the series. At the end of an episode further into the show house asks Wilson “You do like monster trucks don’t you”
and Wilson responds along the lines of “Of course I do”
First time I’ve ever been genuinely disappointed by Wilson.
the lil laugh that he has when he hears that Wilson lied to him.. heartbreaking tbh.
I wish House and Cameron did more of this stuff before the whole “crush” thing messed it up
It wasn't a crush
I mean, it was already messed up to begin with haha. Not because of the age thing but because Cameron's fucked up
@@xyrenegade Cameron's fucked up and House is not??
@@xyrenegade What age thing? They didnt even have 15 years between them.
@@sidra7788 House is fucked up but he's under no delusion that he isn't, the man recognizes his own problems and the way he is. Cameron doesn't and in fact goes further and vehemently pushes back when others point out her own shortcomings to her.
"I call him Kevin... its his secret Friendship Club name" - coming from a cynical misanthropic nihilist like House, this line is comedic gold.
nihilist? i dont think you know what that word means
@@saudude2174 Are you kidding? I hope you are trolling me. Nihilism - from the Latin nihil, "nothing"... House is DECIDEDLY a nihilist character whose lifestyle, character interactions, propensity to self-medicate, relationship philosophy, pragmatic scientism, and views on regligeon and spirituality absolutely SCREAM "nihilistic misanthope". I've read Nietzsche, Camus, Heidegger and Mackie extensively and I'm pretty sure I understand the concept thoroughly (though I do not consider myself a nihilist, I am far more in line with the trancendentalists like Thoreau and Emerson). Methinks perhaps *YOU* don't know what the word means.
@@ralphralpherson9441 your take on house is hilariously wrong. Either you haven't watched the whole show or you don't understand the character at all
@@saudude2174 I own the whole Series on DVD. He evolves as the series progresses, but with his first team, Chase, Cameron and Foreman he is painted as a hermit misanthropic nihilist with a savant-level of medical knowledge to which he assigns his ruthless pragmatism. But his disbelief in anything spiritual, hatred of patients, and inability to hold down even a basic friendship all lend themselves to my interpretation. Let's agree to disagree.
@@ralphralpherson9441 I can agree that he is painted this way in the pilot episode, no more than that.
Owning the series on DVD is pretty much the only way to watch House in most European countries these days, can't even enjoy the show on streaming services because it's region locked. That or you can pirate the episodes online, which considering the pathetic actions the copyright owners have taken, is far from being morally wrong.
"You're asking me out for a date?"
"Exactly. Except the date part".
Lmao the way he says "do you like monster trucks?"
This is the reason why Cameron is my favorite character. Each of House’s team represents one House’s aspects. Foreman showed that his ego and risks he’s willing to take are the same as House. Chase had his same creative thinking and issues with morality. He was like House’s mirror. However, Cameron was always the complete opposite of House. She had different ethics and different morals. And it wasn’t because she was naive it was because she saw that the road House had traveled wasn’t hers to travel as well. She always pushed House to question his morals and ask himself “Why not go the other way?” Thus revealing a more private side of House on why his point of view is always coated in grey and sometimes black. She really helped show a different side of House. When she left I was sad😭
Couldn't agree more
Cameron was my favourite too, I stopped watching when she left
I became sad too when she left, She was like one of the main pllars of the show.
my least favorite, the writers made her so inconsistent
And that's why in the last episode it was the Cameron hallucination that made him want to try and stay alive
This is my comfort clip. Through and through.
I really do like the House-Cameron thing in Season 1. Is it just me or is House just nicer in Season 1?
He is, Sad they didn't develop further
Yes but we would never seen the evolution of his addiction.
I know, right. I thought it was just my imagination, but he is nicer. It's like they were still figuring the character out.😂
I believe TV Tropes would call this "early installment weirdness"🤔
House just eliminated reasons to be nice throughout the seasons therefore eliminating the ability to be nice.
it is call "Flanderization", the way in which TV series writers exaggerate a characteristic of a character that they suspect is the one that most appealed to the public. And unfortunately they do it sometimes to very exaggerated levels, completely distorting the characters, who stop being credible human beings. In this particular case, an author of House said in an interview, talking about how to get rid of the character Cuddy, because the actress was leaving: "We have to make it very difficult because the main characteristic of House is that he must always suffer."
I mean... He is right, Grave digger NEVER disappoints
100% the icon of monster jam
I believe at this point in the show wasn’t Tom meents driving teem meents?
Wilson: How much?
House: A true price no man can say
Wilson: Can one's account say?
House: 1000 dollars
accountant
@@balancemaster55 I thought he said account lol
@@andrewpestotnik5495 no problem, I thought he was going to say account but when I heard accountant was a bit surprised which is why I remembered it.
@@balancemaster55 Why would you be surprised by “accountant”? If you remembered “accountant”, why didn’t you write it?

Dude, House is so depressing when asking Cameron to go to monster trucks with him
i miss this show , gonna watch it again in summer

ive never seen it and am looking for a new show to watch. i might try this.
Well, did you?
@@trikkk64 actually mate no i didn't. Because i realized House is an awesome show and all the polyannas should watch it but when i first watch it i was very shocked and i was developing a character to myself and House helped me in a way but nowadays i'm getting mature and realizing all my mistakes and whenever i watch it i feel bad about it and this summer i realized this. I like this House Cameron scene, very wholesome
House asking Cameron to see Monster Trucks with him was so cute
"God, please tell me it's you" 😄
I wish house and Cameron had more moments like this. I loved their relationship. But I’m glad House did end up havin a good relationship like this with 13 instead
House and Thirteen are a very different kind of relationship. Cameron and House was a tension between romantic and a very specific kind of "post-rejection platonic" (it's the best way I could describe it. Please don't kill me). Cameron is in love with House for the most part, even though it turns away from the idealization of romantic love that Cameron holds early on, into something like a teacher-student love that could have been, but not longer can be, more. It's not perfect because the writing and their acting are so solid that what they have is utterly unique to them, and in that same way, House and Thirteen's relationship is unique. House is much more protective of Thirteen than he is of anyone else, and it's almost a parent-child relationship, where House is sort of the father he never had, and Thirteen is the daughter she never had a chance to be. It's tinged with irony because they're both adults and cannot shake their own experiences, and because both know she will die unfairly early. It is also, at least from House's standpoint, very heavily driven by his respect for her, that, some setbacks not-withstanding, she decides to make the most of her life as much as she can, regardless of her condition, or society's insanity.
Awwww that scene made me so sad. I would've gone to see Monster trucks with house.
One of the best shows of all time
Back in 1975 as a college student, I was delivering newspapers in the St. Louis area. On the route, there this small truck modification shop called Midwest Four-Wheel Drive. They had some artificial boulders in the parking lot, and there was this jacked-up Ford truck they would park with a front wheel on one of those. That truck was first version of Bigfoot.
Why do I remember each and every line of this show? Even every diagnosis.
dont worry your not the only plus i left the exact comment on another video months ago

"Is it *that* bad?"
"No! Not if you... like the smell of urine."
...I wish House asked Chase for this and they had some sort of father/son moment lol, because that's what the OG team felt like--House's children. It's so weird for House and Cameron to do anything even date-adjacent, like that whole Batman diddling Batgirl thing from a while ago.

So you ditch your best friend and have the audacity to meet with your best friend's ex. What a wilson thing to do. He always did this. I love Cameron, so glad house took her to the monster trucks. Was afraid he'd offer and never take her. But he did, no date though 😟
Every House deserves friend like wilson.
Have you?
idk man this was one of the few moments Wilson screwed up. If you're going to turn down tickets to a bff a thon, at least say WHY you're turning it down. Lying only makes it that much worse.
@@marvelsandals4228 Except Wilson was sure, from his past with House, based on what he tells Cameron not long after this, that Stacy was a very sore subject for House. Furthermore, there's a very good chance that Stacy also asked Wilson to keep things on the down low until they could talk first about Mark. You have to remember, Stacy is, for House, the one that got away, and, regardless of how it ends between them, he very much loves her. Losing her was devastating for House, even though he knows (or at least believes) it was his fault. Yeah, he screwed up in not telling him, but it's also not an easy thing to broach. He did the best that he could
@@serban031 Right, which is why Wilson needs to make a choice: what is he doing Friday night? Is he spending the night with Stacy, House, or the folks at the Oncology dinner? Make a choice & live with the consequences. You have to turn somebody down & they might not be pleased. He was getting a bit too cute trying to have his cake & eat it too, avoid hurting anyone's feelings by lying, which ended up hurting House's feelings much more than if he had just been honest from the beginning. Now House feels like Wilson has pulled a fast one on him.
Bros before lawyers
Love the show but the writing pisses me off sometimes. One thing in particular is that the team acts like house isn't human at all, like he's a monster. But the scene with Cameron at the end of this video shows that he's a very good guy. Other than the whole saving lives thing
@Benjamin Allison yeah same
The whole segment (most of a full season) with his love affair with Cuddy, shows how vulnerable (human) he is.
AND the final 4 episodes of the series are the best 4 hours in history of tender TV :)
If you look at what he does, he’s absolutely a monster. Every episode he violates ethics, vandalizes something, or mouths off to someone in order to provoke them. He literally is a bad person.
@Benjamin Allison glimpses? If you pay attention to most of the things that he does, it usually ends well for everyone else but himself. He is actually very selfless under the bs.
@@zachkh house is mysterious about most things, but it is plain as day that he cares about what really matters for the most part. If he is your definition of a bad person, I have some names for you. Adolph Hitler. Charles Manson. Jeffrey Dahmer. Although I guess just like house they have all killed, vandalized and mouthed off to provoke people in their lifetimes. Oops. I guess you got me. Lmao
In what universe do monster truck tickets cost a thousand dollars?
$500 each, front row center... Doesn't sound that crazy tbh. There's always an ultra-premium option for the nuts...
