There is something about Dragon Age I hold dear to my heart. No matter how many years pass I keep going back to Origins, DA2, and Inquisition. And every time I do I feel like I’m reconnecting with old friends. Glad this looks awesome and will hold me down until Dreadwolf.
I played inquisition in 2014 when it came out. I played it again last year & boi i must tell u it felt better than last time. Maybe because i got older & understood more of the characters & storyline. I love every single character they come up with & hanging out with them feels like home

I miss Bioware games for being one of the few RPGs where you could play as a female protagonist with multiple male love interests, Fire Emblem is the only other thing that comes to mind. I understand and respect Obsidian's refusal to add this element on their RPGs, it's just a shame that what used to be the alternative (western wise) is no longer active.

It will be fun to see more of Tevinter's church. Playing a templar going to tevinter to put those pesky mages in their place will be awesome.

Thinking about it, once we get the new game, seeing how it's set in Tevinter, if the characters in the anime survive mainly the main one, they could possibly be a companion or atleast a important npc

I’d hope to have some more distinctive art style differences between some of Netflix’s 2D animations but being a huge Dragon Age fan I’m still excited
A lot of them seem to be made by South Korean animation studio Studio Mir, the one behind most of Legend of Korra, Season 4 of Boondocks, Voltron: Legendary Defender, some episodes of Seasons 3 and 4 of Young Justice, Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, and Dota: Dragon's Blood. All of their shows have a pretty recognizable animation style at this point, and while there are some slight differences between shows, their overall style is pretty similar among all of their shows, so it would be nice if they either experimented with their usual style a bit more or if Netflix worked with more animation studios for more shows like this.
Reddog Culture House is the animation studio (South Korean). Typically Mir has sharper/cleaner line work than what’s presented in this trailer.

The animation looks really awesome. The art style reminds me of The Legend of Vox Machina and Dota: Dragon’s Blood. This makes me wanna search more about the Dragon Age universe 👍

The Legend of Vox Machina was done by Titmouse while Dota: Dragon’s Blood was done by Studio mir!
I heard some of the animators did work on Vox Machina! The art style is also def becoming a staple in the western animation world.
I too got some strong Vox Machina and Dragon's Blood vibes from this. Except it's Dragon-Age. We will be eating GOOD!
Just do it, Dragon Age has amazing games, deep stories, great characters and incredible voice acting.
I remember that DA4 was supposed to be a heist story back in the day before they "scrapped" the idea. So this makes me think they didn't completely let go of the day and it's still happening both in the show and the game. So damn exciting!
Shit. Kind of excited for this. Just for the fact of seeing the Tevinter Imperium do it's nefarious thing. The Dragon Age universe is HUGE and extremely deep and teeming with lore. The sky is the limit with this franchise as long as it's source material is respected. The Grey Wardens. The Tevinter Imperium. The Qunari. The Darkspawn born out of Man's Hubris upon entering the realm of the Maker. So much cool shit to explore.
I thought the whole dark spawn origin myth was hotly debated? Since it benefits the chantry for that to be the official narrative, and they push it hard. Granted I never played 2 or any of the dlcs.
@@moon_wizard1250 Well Corypheus pretty much confirmed it. He was one of the Tevinter mages who went there and it was black! No golden city just taint!
@@moon_wizard1250 It is. Two/Three Interpretations can be made. 1. The Chantry Story of the Maker, Old Gods and Hubris of Men 2. Hubris of Men with No Gods whatsoever only "Dead Whispers" and Darkness within a Corrupted City (the Taint and Nothingness in a Black City) 3. The Entire Story is BS everyone is lying both the Corrupted Magister and Chantry the Taint and Darkspawn simply always existed...But then the question would be why and what really happened?
During Origins and 2 it could've been options 1 or 3. Inquisition's evidence points towards option 2. None of the sources are trustworthy one is the man corrupted when he sought godhood, the other is an organization known to lie and deceive for power who's holy scripture is rewritten if they don't like it's lessons. So option 3 still stands as a logical notion to take despite the supposed evidence.
The Truth like many things more than likely falls in the middle with all three being inaccurate interpretations.
All of it is connected. The Golden City the fade being created and separating the magic veil from the real world, the dwarves not being able to do magic and the titans, the origin of lyrium, what happened to the elves, the old gods and the darkspawn. A lot of stuff is revealed in the two main dlcs for Inquisition, and from dialogue with Solas and Cole in particular, as well as some others.
Hopefully Bioware doesn't screw up DA4 because that would likely end the series or put DA on life support, and then we may never get the actual answers to a lot of these questions.
An animated Dragon-Age show is more than I could ever have asked for.

Trying not to get my hopes up but...this actually looks like it might be good. With the first teaser, I was afraid that it would be just a totally unrelated and/or generic story with a bit of DA flavor added in, but this might actually tie-in to the overarcing story and upcoming game, kinda like the novels and comics. The premise, too, feels very Dragon Age with the blood magic and setting, and the heist set-up reminds me of scrapped Joplin (wonder if that was inspiration, since that story wasn't told). If done well could be a great lead-in for DA:D. And Cass and Leliana look great! The month can't go quickly enough, December is going to ROCK for DA fans!
There are a lot of American voices in this trailer. In the games, the humans usually sound English (sometimes French or Spanish). The dwarves and the city elves sound American. And (in DA2, at least) the Dalish elves sound Irish and Welsh (which I thought was a good choice). I prefer the distinctions. It makes the world feel more real.

@@blushingralseiuwu2222 Yeah, the slave-born elf is fine, but almost all of the humans have American accents, too. I know there are exceptions to the rule, but it doesn't seem like the creators even realised racial accents were a thing.

100%... most Dragon Age fans (like me) would probably agree with you... DA2 and DAI were okay but Origins just had that dark atmosphere that got me into the series... they were never able to bring that back with DA2 and DAI in my opinion... it is a masterpiece.

Hoping they took a lot of inspiration from the Joplin set-up. It sounds like the story we almost got with the heists would have been really good! Hopefully, we get a glimpse of it in this.

Not quite. Given clothing it happening either somewhere around Inquisition as Leliana is wearing spymaster clothing not seekers armor like she was wearing in ending of da 2. Likely it's taking place the during Inquistion. Possibly after Inquistion but before trespasser as neither Leliana or Cassandra are wearing divine clothing unless they for some reason took it off and wore amor (unlikely), unless Viviene is "extended universes canon" divine. Naturally it could be just flashback and plot take place after time skip.
I have no idea what Dragon Age is but I am so going to watch this! It looks so good! Not to mention that cast-Matt Mercer? Josh Keaton? Kimberly Brooks? Ashley Burch? What a cast they pulled together.
Dragon Age is a series of games that are all heavily story based and your choices affect the outcome of not only the game you're currently playing but also in future games. DA: Origins focuses on a Grey Warden which is basically a demon hunter. Visually the game hasn't aged well, but people still adore it. DA:2 follows a refugee and their path to becoming the city's champion. It was made in a year and it does show, but Bioware hit character development and story on the head with that one. DA: Inquisition follows a character who was in the wrong place at the wrong time and has become the only one to stop the world of demons from spilling into the rest of the world. The fourth game DA: Dreadwolf is on the way now and will focus on the same place that Absolution will. If I understand the timeline right, when the show happens the world is in an awkward lull after a near end of the world experience and tensions are starting to get really high between some nations with the likelihood of war on the horizon.

São várias coisas sem sentido e desnecessárias na série, citei somente algumas, mas a animação é bem feito pelo menos...

I would had love graphics like Arcane did, not the same but making those animations look so "comicfull", I mean look at the paintings Solas did on the Skyhold walls, the illustrations made in the style of tarot cards for the characters, all of these could have been used as references for the artistic direction of the animated series !

This happens when the Inquisition is still alive but neither Cassandra or Leliana is dressed as Divine Victoria. I can't wait. I love Miranda Raison's voice as Cassandra so much

Hoping to all hell and back that they do Dragon Age justice; Arcane and Edgerunners are proof that video game adaptations are possible, and can be amazing, now with the possibility of DA, this may be a fantastic lineup for the future.
I love these Netflix animations but because am not really well invested in the lore, I get confused with how similar the stories and layouts are. I have seen the Dragon Prince, Dota Dragons Blood, Legend of Vox Ex Machina and two other similar shows I have forgotten the titles. Everytime a new season comes out its a painful experience of trying to distinguish them from each other. I honestly forget which show is in which season. I will gladly add Dragon Age: Absolution to the confusion.

I don't think more than a few months go by where I don't play through dragon age origins.....I love 2 also and to a lesser extent inquisition ...I've spent hundreds of hours in Ferelden and loved every second of it

I feel like that's a terrible thing to tell to an elf whose entire race nearly got wiped out and whose culture went poof *exactly* for that reason. Especially since she was a slave, like. That's not her fault ? :/ Idk, either I got it all wrong, or there's something that doesn't add up. If it was a city elf that never got involved so she could live a confortable life I could get it. But girl was a tevintid slave, cut her some slack. Don't know what to think about all of it so far.

so, here's the thing. i am a major fan of dragon age. i grew up with the the games, and i am a total fantasy nerd. this checked all the right boxes for me in many ways.
1, it's dragon age.
2, LOOOORE.
3, amazing animation style.
4, amazing sound track.
5, hype as hell.
all i'm hoping for, is that this series doesn't get the wakfu treatment and gets canceled at its apex of hype. b

So far 2/3 of dragon age characters in games are not straight, and 2/3 of them in here aren't as well... they remained faithful to the games ahaha
