Hello, 🙏 mam i am going to Canada in mid April and i am pregnant I just recently come to know and my uni is crandall new Brunswick. Which insurance should I get from India which will be helpful for me during whole pregnancy.
Once you are in NB, visit Service NB with your documentation like enrollment letter, current address, work permit, etc. They will give you Medicare card which will be you insurance. You can buy additional insurance for your medicines, upgrade rooms, dental etc
What will be the cost for visitors for child birth
What about the parents of the baby, how likely are they gonna be Canadians too? How much time it it take for parents to become PR and citizens after their baby is born Canada?

Very Informative. I am travelling to Canada on ICT Work Permit and my wife will be 5 months pregnant by then. I have couple of questions. Really appreciate if you could answer.
1) Are the hospitalization/child birth cost covered by insurance
2) Child Benefits we get
3) Do we need a car to travel/visit doctor
4) Do we need to look for a place to stay near to the hospital
Answering to your 4 bullet points below:
1) Everything is covered under the insurance. From prenatal clinics to doctor's visit to hospitalization & delivery cost. Infact post delivery as well.
2) You will eligible for child benefits after the child's birth, it takes 3-4 weeks for the first payment to get processed once you apply. And dont worry no money is lost if you apply late. Also I think hospital will get you a form filled for child benefits (not sure though).
3) All depends if you have a car then its always great & safe else call a taxi or take a public transport accordingly.
4) I mean its your choice but location where you stay doesn't make a difference, If you have a car then nothing is far away. If you are coming to Saint John then look for accommodation in Milledgeville, it will solve your all angles.
I hope I am able to answer your questions rightly. And wishing you all the very best!

Hi Shobit,
Generally in most of the provinces if you have a medicare card then medical is cashless with slight differences in the policies. I am not very sure about Quebec's policy for international students.
But as per my knowledge -
International students are eligible for free basic health coverage through the province's Medical Care Plan (MCP) provided that they are enrolled in full-time studies for a period of at least 12 months.

Hi Guys great information
Actually my wife is pregnant and we are all set to go to Canada on student visa
Can you please let me know is there any insurance which covers Maternity till delivery in the hospital
Or MCP provided by British Columbia covers Pregnancy too
Please assist as I am acquiring knowledge from different sources before we land in Canada
Well we have not lived in British Columbia, so we are not very much familiar about the medical benefits over there. But as per our understanding and some reserach, MSP covers maternity benefits if you have a study permit or open work permit more than of 6 months validity. Refer the link below -

I am in Canada but after one week I get to know that I am pregnant .and I am on student visa I have no health card now I am very stressed and don’t no what can I do
There is nothing to stress about. Simply apply & get your health card asap. You will get your health card within 4-6 weeks but they will post you your health card number within a week or two which will allow you to visit a doctor or a hospital. After receiving the number, the first step would be to reach out a prenatal clinic located near you as they will gave you a first appointment within 9-11 weeks. Hope this helps out. What about visitors?
Since Visitors dont have any temporary or permanent status here as a result they are not eligible for government health care benefits (medical insurance). So one need to pay out of his pocket for the complete process. There are specific private medical insurances which visitors can opt for.
Hi... me and my husband will be traveling in the next 6 months(i will be on work permit and my husband will be on open work permit) and we want to plan a baby soon so I need a suggestion from you guys will it be helpful if we plan a baby after 6months and if plan immediately do we get Canada govt. benefits or we have to apply for CCB and complete 900hrs of work in canada
Once you are on a work permit every province provides public healthcare benefits. So once you land and register at the nearest provincial services center, you are eligible for all the benefits. Hope ot helps.

Hlo sir i am in early days of my pregnancy..dnt knw when will the PR arrive..i am doubtful if i land in last months of pregnancy in canada.. i hv heard it takes 3 mnths to get insurance once u land there..what if i deliver the baby before completing those 3 mnths of insurance clause. Will i have to bear tye whole cost of delivery?.. Plz reply
Take the private insurance from canada that includes pregnancy and delivery clauses which will cost you around 250 $ CAD approx a month depending on insurance to insurance companies.
Nice information. I have following questions to ask:-
1. Is any female gynaecologist easily avaialble over there for delivery, as being a muslim we need female gynaecologist for this purpose. I have heard that patient cant demand female gynaecologist due to hospital policy.
2. If me and wife live in canada and send my wife back to home country for delivery then my baby will be PR of Canada or not? If not then what i need to do for getting PR of my baby or else.
3. What are the ways to get female gynaecologist for delivery.
Thanks
Well honestly I am not very sure but to my understanding you can request for the female gynecologist as the hospital management do respect your religious values. But all depends on the availability of the female gynecologist in the hospital at the time of delivery. However, if you have C section planned then your request might be considered.
And coming to your question of getting the baby delivered in other country then you need to follow the process of dependant visa and PR.
Hope this helps!
Informative 👍
Sorry to be off topic but am very confused. I just knew am pregnant i am not getting any idea what to do and what to do next
Try to reach out pre-natal clinic. Generally they will access you after 9 weeks. All the best.
I'll be about 7 months pregnant when I will reach New Brunswick on work permit. I heard it takes 3 months to get the public healthcare. How will I be able to manage the costs then, can you please suggest? I'd be really grateful to both of you if you guys can pave some way.
Well its not a worry as once you apply then government considers you enrolled, its like getting the healthcare card and number takes 7-8 weeks. Hospitals also give you some time frame (2-3 months) to pay the amount or present the healthcare card later. So once you are here get apply your Medicare immediately at Service New Brunswick and ask them to provide guidance as well.

Yes, we delivered the baby on a work permit only
My wife and I completed full medical in feb 2022 and in may 2022 we came to know that my wife is pregnant .The tentative travel date is around Aug 2022.
is she allowed to travel to Canada. (any document required while travelling) also do in need to mail IRCC for same.
Appreciate if you could answer and assist. Thank you.
Well we dont think so it will be a problem and she is good to travel since this has happened after your medical and application processing. But still you can carry your documents or reports and a letter from the doctor about the timelines. Also make sure to carry an insurance and once you land here then apply for medicare and health benefits by the govt.
Thank you so much
If we both have work permit. Thn we are eligible for pregnancy benefits??
Yes.
First of all, thanks for making this video.
I am going fly for Canada on 31st August. I have study permit and my wife has OWP. Our province will be Newfoundland and Labrador.
When we will arrive there my spouse will be 1.5 months pregnant. So my question is that does the insurance cover my spouse's pregnancy?
I would be greatful if you find some time and advise on my query.
On OWP, NB Medicare definitely covers, and I believe it's the same for NL, too. Once you land in NL, enroll into NL MCP (medical care plan) at MyNL or Service NL
Man I need this same video but in English

Great information, could you please share the information is C section comment n in CANADA. was the same with u. Or its the same with everyone there. And HOW to apply for child benifits. And the process how much can we expect etc.
It all depends on the level of risk associated with the pregnancy. C-section is done in case of high risk or complications or unless the pregnant woman is willing for it.
For benefits, you need to apply on canada.ca under Canada Child Benefit (CCB) section.
It all depends on the family income that's how much you receive monthly.
@@candidcanucks thanks for your quick response
Hello! Did they ask for your own immunisation card or the vaccines you have taken since birth??? As to avoid any complications in your child birth or etc reasons?
No, they did not ask anything about the vaccines or immunization card.
Bhai ham yaha par new hai. Or meri wife pregnant hai 6 weeks. Koi doctor hai nai hamare paas. Bilkul pta nai hai kya kre kese kre.
If you are in NB, then the best thing is to call the pre natal clinic and get an appointment, which they will give you around 9-11 weeks of timeframe. They will access you on phone initially before your first appointment. Also you can visit the after-hours clinic before that to confirm your pregnancy or seek guidance.I hope you are having your Medicare's already
It was great info, liked it .May i know baby status if someone is not a PR holder .

Do the visitors have pregnancy covered insurance??
Canadian got do not provide any coverage on a Visitor visa. Even private insurance also gives very little coverage. Check plans with them
hey guys, i enjoy watching your vlogs, very informative and to the point. One concern is that, we've heard from numerous people that canada health care is not so good in terms of waiting hours. even people with fractures have to wait hours to see a doctor. to what extent is this true?
Thanks for your kind words.
Too some extent your understanding is right as there is a shortage of doctors and nurses and hence a huge backlog of surgeries. As a result wait time is more. Also since the medical industry is not privatized as result they consider an individual as a case which they prioritize according to the urgency and need.
I know someone who went in emergency at 8 pm complaining about stomach pain and ended up getting diagnosed with appendicitis at 11-30 pm and got operated at 3 am.
But on the other if you have a normal cold flu then it might take couple of days to get doctors appointment as well.
So all depends. Hope it helps.
