I'm your 1,000th subscriber! Congrats. I bought a refurbished K2M, delivered a few days ago, can't get it printing right and suspect some hardware problems. Still waiting to hear back from Anycubic support. Fingers crossed, but seeing videos like this gives me hope that things could work out.
I truly thank you and everyone who watches, subscribers, or even just enjoys watching me ramble lmao! I believe in you and I hope your 3d printing journey kicks off to a great start! If you have any questions I love taking recommendations for videos so let me know!
Of course as soon as I posted the video, youtube recommended I watch a video about z binding which I think is the problem for the layer shifting! No worries! If you have questions, I'll try to answer them!
@lawrencehayes8233 do you have resin printers? Why would you use lychee slicer? I truly like anycubics slicer and I feel it help build a broader understanding on how 4d printing works, or read the instructions for uploading presets to prusa in the read me file they provided!
The kobra 2 max is terrible, please don't waste your money!!! I've had it for 8 weeks, and 6 of those weeks it's been down waiting on a replacement part from AnyCubic because it decided to destory itself while printing a test benchy. I just got the replacement part a couple days ago and guess what..it doesn't matter because the printer SUCKS BAHWLS! It's a decent frame of a printer, but the software, and the locked down nature of AnyCubic Kobra series, combined with how they cheaped out with a mobo that can't run it's stock configuration. It's not a bad template to start with, but the only way to make it "good" is to completely rebuild it into what it pretends to be - a klipper printer. Buuut, the stupid developors/management at AnyCubic wants to lock down an open source project they stole because moneys. Buy a bambu or build your own, this (and any AnyCubic afaic) is hot garbage.
@redeye8396 I think some of my layer shifting is actually happening because of the board overheating or just not being able to handle larger more complex stl files... I can't prove it but be on the look out!
If you apply heatsinks to the motors that will stop the overheating issues. So buy Aluminium heatsinks they offer the best cooling, you can use gorilla glue to apply the heatsinks.
I have an Elegoo Neptune 4 Max and many of the issues you describe with your K2M sound familiar. I suspect that those issues are common across most large format bedslingers. The layer shifting in particular seems endemic with these big build plates and is becoming very evident with this latest generation of fast klipper based machines. I've learned that printing big is a whole different beast than printing on a 220x220 plate. It's way more sensitive to tuning inputs and the issues seem magnified vs a smaller machine, like it's way less forgiving than the smaller machines. It's so much fun to print big.
Just got the Kobra 2 max for my first printer and so far I love it, my only complaints are the directions for the printer are very lack luster I’ve been having trouble connecting the bracket cable that connects to the print head it won’t stay put and despite pushing on it harder like people have told me still nothing, reached out to customer service and they just sent me the wiring page out of the directions, so I guess I just have to hope the wire doesn’t give out because the bracket won’t work right
For the long gameplug that goes into the printhead, the first kobra 2 max I got the harness needed "convincing" to clip in and it never did, with my newer kobra 2 max, it does! One day I changed the printhead on the old printer.....the harness now clips in! Lol maybe check to see if the harness isn't in a bind!
@@OffThePathPrints if it’s not going to cause problems I’m probably just going to leave it I really really really don’t want to break it by trying to force it lol
Thank you man! All the Prints in the Video looked very clean! Nothing I've seen with my Kobra 2 Max. Can you somehow provide me with your Settings and your Start and End GCode if you altered it somehow?
I had a few minor issues as well getting started with my kobra 2 max but after some tweaking, tension adjustments on the belts and finding the rod supports had come loose on me but I seem to be in good shape now. Based on most of the research I've done fixing the various issues, very few issues are brand specific and mostly come down purely to user understanding. It's been very good so far.
Can you make a video showing you settings and tweaks? I like it but, ive had more failures than successful ones. What slicer do you use and settings? I use organic supports but, they're still hard to break off. Just looking for help for this printer. Thanks again!!
this is a awesome review Thank you for taking time to show what this Printer can do . also I do have a Question before I purchase This Printer . Have you tried to use Cura to slice the Project for printing If not Will Cura work for this printer. If your not sure Since you do have this printer would you mind trying it before I spend the money . Thank you
Ive got this as my first printer 2 months, its amazing although I do print small. Issues I have is constantly having bad settings I try to lower the speed to 100mm/s different slicers, etc. Would you be able to post a video showcasing your settings if possible? Thanks for the awesome review!
@@OffThePathPrintsI don’t mean to rush at all and I know it’s only been 4 days, but do you have an idea on when it’s possible that video can be released because I really struggle
Any idea what could be causing my k2max to dig into the bed right before print? After the filament purge and nozzle clean it goes to right front corner and almost levels nozzle but digs into bed and entire head bends a bit the starts to print normally.
sounds like your leveling is way off, check for warps in your bed and make sure all belts are semi tight, check your offsets if you can , i would run the level sequence once, check the offset write it down to whatever the number is, do another level sequence and compare that outcome if the numbers for the offset are way off, it could be firmware issue or some other kind of software issue. Contact anycubic for an idea.
@@kewtd72 Thanks. I finally figured it out, a faulty print head Anycubic sent me a new one and no more offset issues. Now I want to use Cura to slice and print, any experience with cura on this model?
could you post or send me your kobra 2 max settings because I had mine working wonderfully before it broke, I had to replace the entire wiring harness and now it wont print like before?
I have not attempted to use the power loss feature but I think that was added recently along with a few other things but I'll look into it! Are you having problems?
@@OffThePathPrints yes sadly the power loss resume option has not work in mi case there was no resume option after the power loss and i have the last firmware upgrade to date, ive check online and im not the only one the option seems to not be present despiste the manual saying it is there
Do you have issues with prints peeling off sfter long periods of time? If I do large long things like texture pallets for dry brushing, the corners will start to peel after 30 hours or so, like it cant sustain the temperature and still stick. Running default 60c
Does the temperature change in your house? Brims can help with those tight corners, but it sounds like the temperature in your house might be fluctuating??? What filament are you using? Let me know if that helps!
@@OffThePathPrints it's definitely possible the temperature fluctuated. I'm currently using SunLu PLA+ black. Now that I think about it I don't think I brimmed the texture pallet. I'll try that next time! Thanks

I would love to have a dialed in .6mm and .8mm settings for PETG. I'm struggling with those myself
