Emperor is America's only 6-across seated dive machine. The Bolliger and Mabillard coaster is a Swiss-manufactured attraction, they're known for their smooth rides and comfortable-yet-intense experiences.

The ride looks better than expected, but I can't help be a little disappointed by the fact the theming/landscaping is bare bones.
seriously. no covered station. just like me playing planet coaster. too lazy to build one.
honestly though, the weather is always so perfect in san diego, there’s barely a need for a roof or a home for that matter.
I was there recently and I can tell you, bare bones is probably the theme of the whole park lol. The manta is the only one that has any theming as far as I can tell.
It usually takes time for them to finish the theme/decorations. I remember when Manta first open, the surrounding area looked bad. However, it looks A LOT better now.
Unfortunately, unless it’s Disneyland, that’s pretty much the theme for rollercoasters in Southern California.
They could add a roof over the station, but not every roller coaster has to have theming.
I love how no one’s mentioned how fast that lift hill is.

Rode it twice today with no wait either time. Thrilling coaster that never lets up, and it’s as smooth as it looks in this video. Lack of theming is an issue, but Emperor’s real problem is that the ride is so damn short.

I rode this twice yesterday and a few things, the lift very fast. Secondly, the drop is waaayyy more intense in the back than in the front. I know my face looked TWISTED lol

In my opinion where all the landscaping and rocks are. It should be like fake icebergs and ice mountains, I think it would give this ride a cool look
this ride doesn’t have any character at all. Seaworld could learn from Six Flags with Cliffhanger. that one has a themed indoor queue, interacting pathways and most importantly a station roof.
That's what I'm screaming but some get their panties all ratcheted up in their butt cracks over it.
Ride looks amazing. Disappointed with the lack of a beautiful station.

@Kittys channel of edits 😩🤦🏽♂️🤣🤣🤣. It was never part of the plans Ms!! My point was that even tho covid delayed the opening, they had 2 years to alter the plans and add a station house!! Covid was not the reason for not adding one!!
@Kittys channel of edits it doesn’t need to be beautiful but the lack of a station building in a state that gets a ton of sun is kinda concerning especially for the ride ops. On top of that the only shade that’s on this ride are a few canopies that have fucking holes in them 🤦♂️
yeah same and the lack of theming. nothing for this ride screams "emperor penguin" you can literally slap any name on this and it'd change nothing.
I went on this and loved it! So smooth and thrilling. If you get the chance, definitely go for it!
As someone who has(d) a strong dislike for rollercoasters...I rode this 4 times and it was an amazing, life changing experience

More launched lift hills are needed on dives 💪🏻
Why? The purpose of a dive is that stop and suspension at the top. Why launch for that?

The ride is good. But in the future, it need some scenery to add some flair.
Looks really fun! But the area around it is so bad. There’s nothing. It feels unfinished. There’s not even a station! I get cost cutting but I think they went a little too far lol

How do you spend $30 million or whatever on a coaster but not budget.... $250k for a fuckin station roof? That's like... disgraceful and insane. You need to protect your investment
Very dissapointed in the lack of theming, lack of station, and lack of any sort of significant landscaping. The ride is short, and likely runs 1(?) train like their other major coaster, Electric Eel as it lacks a mid-course? I see there may be a second train housed. But theming and shade for the inevitably long line would make this much better. It'll be a GP pleaser because of the drop.
I love how you can tell that this rise was manufactured by B&M (Bolliger & Mabillard) just by looking at the track

This is my favorite ride at sea world
This ride is awesome! The views from the top, that drop, super smooth, the line never seems to get very long (at least the day I was there). There are some signs in the queue area with interesting penguin facts that also highlight the very real effects of climate change that we are facing. And there may not be much theming around the ride but there is bark/mulch and it is all very clean and gives a much better vibe at least than concrete.
Yea, when I went it said it was a 50 minute wait but we barely waited 15 minutes

Rode this today, it was pretty fun. Surprised with the view, though! If you get a chance, definatelty try it.

@@emilysophiew havent been on atlantis yet. plan to go on it next trip. but yeah the drop really isnt that bad and it only lasts 2-4 seconds so if the drop is the only thing that you’re scared of i would go on it
Guys, if ur scared to go on this, TRUST ME, ITS NOT BAD AT ALLL. U DONT FEEL NOTHING!! ITS A MENTAL THING!! JUST AIR TIME. Lowk, manta is much worse, and electric eel is on crack compared to this. You wont regret going on this. ITS LIFE CHANGING!! it changed my whole perspective of life. Whoever made this ride needs their ass ate fr fr.

I appreciate the comfort advice. I been to manta and eel but something about the drop of the emperor makes me mentally calculate the G force and the turns that come with it.

The lengths of a coaster does not determine its value. Rides can be 3-5 min. long and be bad rides

Yeah sesame place sucks if you want to experience a waterpark in California go to Raging Waters instead but if you just wanna visit any kind of theme park go to SeaWorld this coaster and all the other ones there are A+ attractions imo

I went on this and man oh fucking man was it uncomfortable lmao. All those inversions with your feet down make you experience a heavier weight. Felt nauseous getting off it. The views from the top though 10/10 and that drop was a banger.
Electric eel was scarier
The way to the top feels so fast and it looks slow on camera but trust me it is way faster

this ride is very short i rode it twice but a good experience!
I been on something like this one at Busch gardens Tampa Florida the difference between the 2 this one only does the dive 1 time and the one at busch gardens dives 2 times

It really is missing the key component of a dive coaster... A hole... Check RUclips for Alton Towers Oblivion (the first) or Efteling's Baron 1898 (modern with loops). Those ones both have significant themeing and even a covered station.

Not to be a nitpicker but the ride feels a bit too short for my liking, maybe it's better in person. And yeah, I don't get why they don't at least have a roof over the station, at least for the workers' sake since they have to stand there all day and they should at a bare minimum be protected from working out in the sun. Still it looks like it's worth a ride at least and it's better than that crappy Submarine Quest garbage for sure.
