It's been 3 years, because they were getting married by Springs end, then pregnancy last 9 months. So, 31/2 years have passed since the 1 episode. The lady with the pug, Lady Redwyne, is Lady Olenna's ancestor, her maiden name was Redwyne.😊
I love how Daemon defends his Brother by telling Corlys he cannot speak ill of his Brother the King.
The Wall does exist and has existed for millennia prior to the series.

I think the entire season has that 'setting the stage' feeling.
The purpose of the whole first season was to set the stage for the actual dance of the dragons, I think 😊
The mother and baby were both dying no matter what since they couldn't get the baby out.. the only option was to save the baby, or they both die.
Did you notice the dagger at this point at the end on viserys hip while talking to rhae?
The wall was built 1000s of years ago.
There is another option in these cases which will save the mother.

You're so smart to pick up that Daemon chooses to joust 1st against the Hand's (Otto Hightower) Son.
I really feel like it just wasn't time for the baby to come. But Viserys and his pride in a misinterpreted dragon dream, scheduled a tourney for the child and pressed the issue. This series makes me wonder how many women in history unnecessarily died like this over what easily could've just been braxton-hicks.
I believe Danerys made the same mistake-- believing her dragon dreams meant she was the chosen, but a pattern Ive noticed in the books and shows is that Targayens dragon dreamers often get the meanings wrong af.
@IAmJustR why wasn't it time?? She was in labor already, and the baby was due. The problem was that the baby was breech, and they couldn't get it to turn into the right position, so they could not save Aemma, because you can't live with a dead baby inside you, and a baby can't live stuck inside of you. So what could they to save her? Nothing.😊
The Queen who never was name is pronounced Ray- niece. Rhaenys, the kings cousin
Olenna was my Spirit Animal in GOT. It takes a bit for some to see, but Rhaenys is my new Spirit Animal. Very smart and shoots from the hip like Olenna.

You have to understand HOTD is focused more on the POLITICS than Shock Value, It will be more of a character driven story, Season 2 will be full of shock value & Battle of Bastards level of Battles with Big Dragons fighting each other

Rhaenys just was stating facts - that she knows that it’s a chess move - not a fact - that Rhaenyra is being made successor.
The Dragonstone scene is when we first hear Rhaenyra’s gorgeous theme music. I love that moment on the bridge in Ep 2
You think Daemons dragon is big… Ha! Just wait… I do love his dragon’s calls through. So creepy and foreboding. You know nothing good will follow a sound like that.
Otto really showed himself though - very clearly - in episode 3. I don’t get why the king continues to have him by his side when Otto’s agenda is up in his face
I love Lord Strong and really want him to be his main advisor. He seems the only objective voice.
Rhaenyra coming back covered in blood with the dead boar is one of my favorite moments of the season! All of the peoples reactions - telling their stories in full. Keep an eye out on Ser Harwin - the one who smiled upon sight of her. Remember that name! Take notice of his actions when he’s on camera.
Yeah Viscerys is such a hypocrite and has caused so many issues -as a passive king - that can definitely compound over time
Daemon is WILD in that he let his ego fuel him in his one man tirade. So much resentment he was able to use that energy as a force field against multiple arrows!!! Lol 😂 I know a couple hit him but he should have been dead 💀

The tall bearded man who first knelt to Rhaenyra is a Baratheon, cousin or uncle to Princess Rhaenys ("The queen who never was") so he might have looked glum because he believed that Rhaenys had a better claim but was passed over due to her gender, while the younger Rhaenyra is declared heir by her father.

Otto is 100% correct. Even Rhaenys said the realm would never accept Rhaenrya. The best course of action would be to marry Rhaenrya and Aegon joining their claims.

i suppose technically they did kill queen Aemma, but she was going to die from the breach anyway. Taking out the baby was the only way to save one of them, or they'd both die. I think Viscerys should have told her what's up and she should have had the option to take milk of the poppy or whatever, anything less cruel. And still i love Viscerys, i tell myself he was in shock and trusting the maester's expertise.
"You chose to celebrate your own rise!" But here's the thing that we saw that Viserys didn't. Did he look like he was celebrating? He seemed pretty quiet to me. It's what makes Daemon such a fascinating character. He's not really the villain. I mean, he's not the hero, either, but he's...complicated.
Oh, and yeah, there are a *lot* of time skips in Season 1. Mainly because they're only trying to set the stage for future seasons, and there's a lot of time to go through before we get to the real meat of the story.

idk why people think rhaenyra gives arya. they’re literally nothing alike. rhaenyra is a spoiled brat who would have never survived all the shit arya went through
