We got our first caravan, Swift Basecamp 2+ 2020 in October 2019. Little did we know Covid-19 was just around the corner and apart from the lockdowns we can't imagine how we would have got any holiday for the last two years and more to come. BC2+ is small however it is a Tardis inside with good size beds which we use a s singles. We sleep better than at home and never get cold even in winter. People are very surprised by the wet room toilet, shower and sink. Then the hob, grill cooker, sink, good worktop and Gas/Mains/12VDC fridge freezer. Plenty of storage. BC6 is interesting as an upgrade due to additional storage, top bunks can be used for clothes. It is longer however not a problem as it is already short and only about 150 kg heavier. The problem is the length of the lounge are beds are very short longitudinally, laterally 6' 6" but then we have to climb over each other which will be a problem with my CPAP machine. Unfortunately the bunk beds are only 5' 10" long which is my height and I like to stretch out. What a shame that could not have designed the bunks to be 6' 6" so most people could sleep comfortably.
Superb video with beautiful photography. The salesman has a very natural and calming presence on camera. As a Base Camp 2 owner I’m just not sure that the 6 is in the spirit of what a Base Camp is. That said, it will do well I’m sure. The Base Camp is verging on becoming a VW Camper style cult all of its own!
Thank you Eddie for your review. This caravan has certainly grown up but I would go for the four berth as a solo traveller. I like the idea of a separate dinette. Have a lovely Christmas when it comes to you and the team.
