Fantastic tutorial as always. There are a lot of reasons to follow you, your communication skills, your technical knowledge, etc but the main reason is that you transpire honesty. It doesn't matter if you are reviewing gear or explaining some technical aspect, you don't try to get lots of views using a catchy title, don't try to sell nothing you wouldn't buy and only try to help as honestly as possible to the people that finds your channel looking for some information. I'm tired of "professional" RUclipsrs churning out videos for a living at speed only worried about the views and not for the message.
Great job Omar. Showing real examples makes it so clear. When I first started in photography the whole concept of white balance was so foreign and I struggled to find an understandable explanation. This would have been so useful.
10 years been doing photography for fun and I have never understood the white balance concept. Now I finally do thanks to your explanation Omar, thank you so much for this video !!
This was new information to me, as a relatively new photographer. Thank you SO much for taking the time to explain color and white balance. You're the best.
This is an excellent example to see first hand how the white balance gets affected directly by the light and the environment , excellent video Omar, 👍 ..btw thanks so much for popping by my channel yesterday, definitely made my day 😁
i haven't watched the whole series of lighting tutorials you made, but dude... you explain the science behind it soooo well. Thank you for these videos ^-^
I'm a beginner photographer so I love photography tutorial. I've watched dozens. I find you're a good teacher so I subscribed to your page. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Thing is that photography guides may get less views than the gear, but the guides create your solid fanbase that sticks with you long term. I'm a subscriber for the guides as well as the personal stuff - not the gear. Because gear videos are not unique they can be easily used to get info without subscribing because there are so many that will get the job done, but with guides and other personal vids we get to see the real you and create a connection = unique factor+long term loyalty.
Nothing better than watching a passionate professional sharing knowledge and enjoying it. Even though I already understand the concept, I'm here to learn but also to boost my passion for photography, and you always nails it! Many many thanks mate!
These videos might tank, but we love you for them. You always make it seem like you actually want to talk to us personally and not just throw content out there...and I think you do, so that's awesome. And I actually learned something today. Those things are kinda obvious I guess, but it is awesome to have it pointed out and what to do with it.
Tutorials are wayyyyy better than those product reviews. what's important are not the gears but the brain behind it:) Thanks Omar! Keep being fun and educational!
i just discovered your videos and i have to say, this is one of the best youtube channels i've ever stumbled upon. i have done photography work for a few years on and off as a side-hustle and i'm now looking to take it to a new level. your videos are really helpful, you're a great teacher! i was really touched by your mission to just educate people who are passionate about photography 💛
I have a question Omar: I am going to shoot around 5000photos at a wedding for a photo film. So I think jpegs would be more efficient. But the white balance needs to be manual I guess. SO any tips? Being an Indian wedding the photos will be in colours. So any tips/help for efficiency would make me very happy.
These tutorials are amazing! I have subscribed after watching one of your gear videos actually, but now I can't stop watching your photography tutorials, you make everything so much easy and fun to learn! Thanks, Omar! Pls keep doing this! :)
Your tutorials are the best, I'm the beginner in the photography, with you I learned and understand in a simple way what many other complicate. thanks so much! Azores - Portugal
Thank you! I studied photography many years ago, but having had other work for many years, because of the necessity to have a stable income, my phototime has dropped off alot. But now I want to brush it up and hopefully start doing som work again, and I have forgot many things, so grateful that you are making these not only gear stuff (thats also fun!) I also love your humour and the more personal videos combined with tips and tricks. Really liked your composition video where you explained mistakes in your older photos!
Man, Omar, your tutorials are so awesome! I love the way you explain these concepts super simply and give real time examples, SO helpful! Tbh I've been playing with cameras for years and never really understood how in-camera white balance works, so thank you!!
This is very helpful. My not-so-sophisticated solution is to shoot in RAW, then find some neutral gray in the scene and adjust in post. One of the reasons I don't like jpegs for events is that inevitably I'm moving from one kind of light to another and I know I can't rely on AWB in jpeg mode to be consistently right when the light is changing.
I'm very happy that I found your channel Omar. Appreciate the effort and time you put in to make content that is extremely useful for people looking to improve their photography. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
Thank you so much for this series, Omar!! From the many videos I have watched from you, I had learned the most in part 1, and now part 2 was even better! It’s really helpful, I find light the hardest to master in photography. Looking forward to the next two!
Fortunately, at the moment I can get the instant gratification monkey in my head to accept such fruitful content and to resist gear content. This is so much more helpfull then thinking about gear!
Great video! I'm Italian and I watch your videos both to improve my English (because you speak very clearly) and to improve my knowledge about photography! Your tips are very useful!
These videos are super helpful. Seems that folks who shoot digital only learn how to make it look good, but not really the why behind it. Your channel has lots of chewy details other you tubers dont offer. 😄✌❤
Thanks a lot Omer, I was searching for this subject, just started and hope it's what I desperately needed. I think the topic is most important but least discussed, good job🌷
Yo I know I’m late but dude you are a great teacher. I’ve watched so many of your videos now and although I thought I had a pretty good understanding of light, you’re bringing me to the next level in such short videos. Thanks for all your hard work. It’s much appreciated. Big love
I am totally seduced by your photography artistic style, and am really happy to discover that you are sharing your insights and wisdom with us! I am now watching your tutorials with great interest. Thank You Omar
Thank you for all your hard work! I usually don't comment on videos, but I really wanted to say how great a teacher you are, also I love your sense of humor. Thank Omar, and please keep those tutorials coming :D
This was a great series! I learned a lot especially since I always use AWB and wondered why my portraits were coming out with a color cast of purple green or red depending on the background. Fantastic work! thank you
Great tutorial, color cast in youtube videos always make me laugh. So many "experts" will complain about a red or green tint in their footage and not even realise that something in the environment is casting that light. LOL
Thank you Omar, another tremendously helpful video! I don't know if my brain is big enough to fit all the stuff you want to put into it, but I'm going to try like hell to stuff it all in!
Thanks again Omar. Another really helpful tutorial. I have only ever used AWB but this tutorial has encouraged me to go out (well maybe stay in actually 😢) and try the different light settings on my XT3. Using 'Cap' and explaining the way you do is really helpful. I'm looking forward to part 3 and any future tutorials you produce. Excellent work, keep em coming 👏👏👏
oh man, I watch this video exact one year later. Omar, I am following u on this Chanel for a year now, time pass so quick. Thank for all your videos, i wouldn't be improving without u!!!
@@ogonzilla Hey Omar, I would like to build a small Fotostudio, can u tell wich lights seal I use? there so many on the market. I just want to take some portraits, just private! U know so many things! Thx
Thank you for educating us! I love when you do these kind of videos - please don’t stop! Love your sense of humor too! I look forward to seeing your videos😊 Stay safe
These are cool videos, thank you. I appreciate the work you put into these and how you don’t fall into the youtube trappings of constantly yelling to smash buttons and bells every other second ( I did like and have been subscribed for quite a while now, mind).
So interesting! I sorta knew the importance of white balance, but I always kept it on auto since I didn't exactly know how to fix it. This really made it clear.
This was a great tutorial! White balance is a setting that I haven't really played around with much, I generally just keep it on Auto. One question: I have been trying to follow the advice in your fantastic "How to become an intermediate photographer" series. How does white balance fit into that workflow? Is it something I should think about when setting up every shot? I came here for the gear reviews, I stayed for the surprisingly on-point Jim Carrey impressions - but I keep coming back for the tutorials!
These tutorials are fantastically helpful and engaging Omar. You really knocked it out of the park with these. Thanks so much!
I can’t believe how simple you have made this. Thank you a million times … this is clearer than my course work…
Fantastic tutorial as always. There are a lot of reasons to follow you, your communication skills, your technical knowledge, etc but the main reason is that you transpire honesty. I started watching for the gear, but these tutorials are great!
2 years after and still helpful and relevant. Thank you. 😊

Very helpful !!! Came for the gear reviews.. stayed for the tutorials....
Two years later your video taught me something valuable and I truly appreciate you putting out this video. Thank you.
Thumbs up for this tutorials Omar, it’s a great reminder for all the stuff I learned long time ago and stopped thinking about.
I come back to your light tutorials over and over again! You are so clear and helpful. Keep the tutorials coming.

glad to help!
Thanks for the tutorials! I see the low number of views, but we, the few who actually watched it, find it useful, so please, keep going!
Another top notch tutorial, demonstrating visually exactly how white balance works. Nice one Omar 👍

Thank you so much for teaching us. These are hands down the best instructional videos on photography that I have watched.
Wow. Excellent tutorial, Omar. I actually believe I understand all of the lesson. Keep it up! Thank you!
Awesome and very useful video! Thanks for sharing Omar! Your channel is fantastic and always fun to watch!
This breakdown of color of light sources is really helpful!
Great video Omar! One of your best yet - very informal with lots of examples. Thank you for this!
Thank you for this series Omar. Super super helpful.
Good job on these tutorials. I prefer improving my skills, rather than just buying only the new shinny toy. Thank you Omar !

Another great video, using the continuous light to show the examples is the key here.
I love every video you’ve done but this light series is fantastic! You are a great teacher! Keep the tutorials coming.
I admit.
I had to watch it at least 3 times to understand it fully.
